Chapter 39: The Man Who's Been Everywhere

We saw Dorian and his daughters seated under a tree.

"Good morning" (Link)

"Morning Koko, morning Cottla" (Shronia)

"Good morning you two" (Dorian)

"Morning!" (Koko and Cottla)

"Where did you two go off to yesterday?" (Dorian)

"The new resort Jroid mentioned" (Link)

"That place, it's near Outskirt. How did you manage to get there in less than a day?" (Dorian)

I used the Sheikah Slate and teleported to the Ta'loh Naeg shrine. I walked back to the group.

"I can teleport to shrines, there is a shrine near the resort" (Link)

"Must be nice to teleport to places" (Dorian)

Leaving Dorian and his daughters Shronia went home to wash herself leaving me alone.

I saw Jroid tending to his horse at the stables.

"Good morning Jroid" (Link)

"Good morning Link. Where did you go yesterday, it was like you suddenly disappeared" (Jroid)

"Would you believe me if I said I could teleport" (Link)

"Being the Hero I wouldn't be surprised at all. Why, where did you teleport to?" (Jroid)

"That new resort near Lake Kolomo" (Link)

"How was it? I thought the service was enjoyable" (Jroid)

"I liked it" (Link)

"Did you try the ale, it made me feel a little light" (Jroid)

I nod. There was an awkward silence for a few seconds, I didn't know how to keep the conversation going, luckily Jroid did.

"Where are you headed to next?" (Jroid)

"Zora's Domain" (Link)

"I'll be traveling there in a few days, would you and Shronia like to accompany me?" (Jroid)

"I'll take your offer" (Link)

"It's settled then. Help me load the goods into my wagon" (Jroid)

We went to the storehouse and loaded crates of tough pumpkins into 3 wagons, Nashi, Biopar, and Ossio are helping us.

"You're not going to bring swift carrots?" (Link)

"They don't sell well in that region. After all they do have fleet-lotus seeds, pumpkins are always in demand as no other region grows them" (Jroid)

As expected of an experienced merchant, he knows what sells well and what doesn't.

"Is Hylian Rice a profitable product?" (Link)

"Hylian Rice, depends on the region. A lot of grains spoil in humid regions like the Faron region or Zora's Domain. Drier places like the Gerudo Desert are ideal, though the journey is long and dangerous from Hateno. Most sell to Dueling Peaks or as far as Outskirt City" (Jroid)

"So you're saying as long as the product is dry and safe it'll sell well?" (Link)

"Pretty much" (Jroid)

I put the Sheikah Slate on the floor and took a sack of rice out, the shock on his face was priceless.

"How did you do that?" (Jroid)

"This is the Sheikah Slate, it allows me to store items in it. Not only that, but time stops when items are placed inside so nothing ever rots" (Link)

He put his hand to his chin.

"This might just work" (Jroid)

What is he talking about?

Jroid was limited by wagon capacity so at most he could bring 200 pumpkins, with the Sheikah Slate that will no longer be an issue.

"You can teleport to places right?" (Jroid)

"Only to shrines I've activated" (Link)

I pointed to the Ta'loh Naeg shrine.

"Have you activated a shrine near Faron City?" (Jroid)

I shook my head.

"Darn, I was going to ask you to teleport us to Faron City so I could buy as many Hearty Durians as possible" (Jroid)

With everyone's help, we stuffed the Sheikah Slate with tough pumpkins.

"Alright, good work everyone. Get ready for my amazing dinner later" (Jroid)

It's late afternoon, a banquet table has been set. Sitting to my left is Paya and to my right is Shronia. Everyone seems really excited about dinner today.

"Is his cooking that good?" (Link)

"It's the best, he travels all over the continent so he cooks foods from different places" (Shronia)

Jroid's life sure is extravagant.

"Link, where were you yesterday?" (Paya)

"We went to the new resort at Lake Kolomo" (Link)

"Just you two?" (Paya)

I nod.

"Oh" (Paya)

She puffed her cheeks and turned her head to the side.

"It was a lot of fun, I got so drunk I don't remember last night" (Shronia)

Mostly high, I doubt the alcohol was that strong.

"Wow, just you and Link having fun at a resort" (Paya)

"You should've invited her Link" (Shronia)

Paya looked at me like it was my fault she didn't get to go. I pretended not to notice.

Shronia is enjoying the show.

"How's Biopar, is he fitting in?" (Shronia)

Good job, you changed the topic.

"He's nice and hardworking" (Paya)

"We'll get to know him on our trip to Zora's Domain" (Shronia)

"Link, I really want to travel with you. But my grandmother says no" (Paya)

I didn't know what to say, so I just nodded.

"I'm bored, Link let's watch a show" (Shronia)

"Show?" (Paya)

We watched what I can describe as an old black and white show, it reminds me of the Three Stooges. Basically it's this pair of brothers and they're always getting hurt in the most ridiculous ways.

We could smell the savory aroma of something.

"I think the food is ready" (Shronia)

Jroid pushed around a cart placing a plate in front of everyone.

"Smells great" (Link)

"Just wait till you taste it" (Jroid)

I think it's Beef Wellington. He must've been preparing this the night before, it takes ages to make the puff pastry.

"Wow, it looks delicious" (Shronia)

I dug in, it was amazing. The meat is tender and juicy and the puff pastry is soft and flakey.

After the meal, the village children prepared entertainment.

They put on a little play about Zelda and the 5 Champions fighting against the forces of Ganon. It was adorable watching the children pretend to be Heros. I was even part of the play when they introduced Link.

Jroid tapped me on the shoulder.

"What's up" (Link)

"The sky. Anyways I'm letting you know we're leaving tomorrow" (Jroid)

I nod.

I slept at Impa's place that night.

The next morning our adventure for Zora's Domain would begin.

Waving everyone goodbye we exited the village from the east side.

"Jroid, have you been everywhere?" (Link)

"Not everywhere, I've never been inside the Akkala University, also the Great Hyrule forest is off-limits, the 3 labyrinths would be fun to explore if it weren't for the monsters and guardians, and of course there's the ruined Hyrule Castle" (Jroid)

He's been to places that most people can have access to. The Great Hyrule Forest or the Lost Woods is the home of the Koroks, if we go there we'll meet with Hetsu again.

"Is there a settlement called Terry Town in the Akkala region?" (Link)

"Terry Town, never heard of it. Is it a new place?" (Jroid)

Terry Town is a side quest where you help someone build a town. It would seem that I need to start the quest before the town can be built.

"How did you find Kakariko?" (Link)

"I can answer that one. It was a few years ago, back then this guy was a novice peddler" (Ossio)

"I got scammed once! It never happened again" (Jroid)

"I was planning on traveling to Faron City, while traveling I saw this guy running down the road with a crate in his hands. Thought he was crazy. He was being chased by some bandits, I ended up saving him" (Ossio)

"That was how we became friends, we traveled around the world and we taught each other stuff" (Jroid)

"Surprising he was good at business" (Ossio)

Jroid playfully elbowed Ossio, they really are old friends.

"How are you liking the village, Biopar?" (Link)

"Calm and peaceful, I never experienced any of that during my stay in the Yiga Clan. I'm thankful you spared my life that" (Biopar)

A few days later we arrived at Wetland City. We showed our IDs to the guards, again when they saw Shronia's card they told her to be careful.

"It happened here as well" (Jroid)

"Elementalists have been missing at Hateno as well" (Link)

"The same thing at Riverside City" (Jroid)

"What about Faron?" (Link)

"Didn't hear anything about kidnappings" (Jroid)

This is becoming a serious issue.
