Chapter 37: Please save us
Snapping out of it Ramses eyes flicker in fright as he tries to look around, he was hoping that was he saw was not an illusion, that it was real. That he had not imagined his best friend had killed him on the spot with such cruelty.
He was afraid, and he looks around to see Amethyst had the same expression as he did, fear, had to see see what he had seen?
Adriel was sitting down as hid ragged breath was heard; the silent air was now colder than ever as he saw his friend slumping down in the ground as his eyes once again flicker from his usual shade of brown to black, his wings that were spurt out before did not disappear, and the monster had disappeared.
Nobody really knew what Amethyst had seen that time and trust her she wouldn't even say anything either, as she snaps out of the sudden daze she ran to Adriel. She was a bit reluctant on putting her hands to his shoulder, afraid that if she had done something wrong he would have pushed her yet again, but she needs to be strong right now, and made a decision.
She held Adriel's forearm, and he looks up at her, he would have argued, but he was too tired, so he had no choice to drop his weight onto Amethyst and accidentally to make her stumble, he held onto her for support as she grunts.
Ramses who saw all of this happened could only smile at the two as they both struggle to carry each others weight, he hoped the very best for the both of them.
Ramses carry on to walk beside Adriel who was struggling as he slings the demigod's arms and help Ameyhts carry the weight. She saw this and smile at him.
A distant bark could be heard, and there their fear wasn't subsided as they fear the fight wasn't finished, and they were ready to drop dead. They had stand alert as the next threat came, there in a distant the Cerberus that had caused quite a ruckus.
Adriel suddenly stands with his eyes baring at his dog and Ramses who was ready as he wields his sword and I slip the dagger that was given by Ramses, he looks at me and nods at me.
Adriel who was quiet, suddenly mutter spells and he created a bubble around Dex. At the exact moment, the Cerberus was running towards our direction, Ramses was about to march and attack when Adriel had held his hands, lowering the sword down.
"Riel, what are you doing that thing is going to –"
"That thing, is MY Cerberus, Ramses."
We were expecting a creepy greeting of the lovely Cerberus I had to meet the first time I was lost in Jacob's woods, was now replaced with a confuse as it stops an excellent two meters from where we are all standing, it started to bark very cutely like how I had met her before.
But a sudden question arise in my head, where is Jacob?
As confused as we are, Adriel started to walk forward to the dog as she tilts her head to wait for Adriel, I step forward holding out to Adriel who was a bit limping as I look at him.
But he looks back at me and smile, he held out a hand, and he grabs mine as he looks at me reassuringly.
"That's my girl thy, and she wouldn't hurt me trust me…" I'm trying, to believe you, but it's getting harder as the dog was once a monster ready to slice my throat and was threatening us. But I do trust Adriel, and I'm willing to try for him.
He grabs my hands and starts walking toward the Cerberus, and every step that we took the louder my heart had thump in worry. Bring in a spiral of a rollercoaster over the past few days, seeing something normal was unusual as if it was peculiar. It was a bit different from the earth.
But letting someone hands' touch mine as I follow them into my dead or possibly losing an arm was not in my schedule, But I trust him, I don't know why, but I do.
It was a bit contrast with a certain another demigod, he was someone I'm comfortable with, and someone I willingly to opened up my heart too, but do I trust him enough was the question.
Beside where is he?
Another perfect moment as you see a panting demigod as he tries to walk.
"Holly comes back – I – we need to – where are the others and – oh." He was greeted with some familiar faces, Jacob was also relief as he saw her standing there beside Adriel.
At least she's alright, he had thought.
She was ecstatic to see that he was alright and it felt like a burden in her shoulders was being lifted as she ran her way circling the demigod with a tight hug. He too was also a relief to see her in one piece and was attacked by a sudden bear hug. Noted she gives death tight hugs.
He was smiling ear to ear to know that she was worried for him, making him instantly tangling his arms on her waist, pulling her into his arms as he too gives deathly bear hugs.
But that unsettling feeling inside the demigod was eating him alive and one day might even drown him.
As Amethyst was having a moment with Jacob, Adriel couldn't help to feel the sudden strike of jealously, his legs must have thought the same as it was walking to a certain direction, to their direction, before an arm pulled him. It was restaining him from moving forward.
He looks back to see Ramses looking at him signalling to stay put. Letting the two resolve their problems. He had to get the message and nods as he backs down, again.
It had bothered Adriel to the core as he was seeing Amethyst cry, it tore him a bit as he was a bit disappointed she was not running to his arms.
Why didn't she react the same when he had come?
He didn't know exactly know why seeing her in Jacob's arms made him go crazy, he was even considering on ripping her out of his arms and held onto her as his life depends on it, he thought for a moment that you had deserved better.
Someone who was not Jacob, maybe even better than himself, his doubts and fear were eating him alive.
Sighing, he walks to the Cerberus who had greeted him with open arms as the dog started to succumb to his touch, indicating that she was alright. Ramses, who had also joined Adriel's side, was looking a bit a far from where he had stood.
"It's alright, Ses. She's not going to bite your arms, whatever possesses her left her body isn't that great!" Adriel smiles at his brother before the resonating sound of a slap was hear.
Ramses had hit his ass with his sword.
"You… if you try something stupid like that, I'll behead you myself," Ramses glare.
"Oh come one you got to give me cre –"
A sudden groan erupted behind us, and we remember the injured demigod as he was starting to look paler than before.
