Chapter 43: The crab children's tears

William didn't bother with the crab any longer, he was 100% sure that it had died, so he had no reason to carry on. He gave the crab a last look that was filled with pride and then left. He headed towards the base of the devil humans again.

He had wasted enough time; it was time to kill. The base came closer and closer, a massacre was about to start.

Crab's children pov

The crab children suddenly got a terrible feeling. „somethings wrong, I have the feeling that something happened to mom." The other crab children nodded in agreement „we have to look for her, hopefully she is fine."

And with that a bunch of 50 inch big crabs started moving out, they didn't have to search they knew where their mom was hunting for food. They searched around for a while and then found the body of their mom.

„moooooom, nooo what happened to you?" All the children started crying, trying to wake their mom up, but whatever they did she wouldn't respond „mom please wake up, we are all here just tell us how we can help you."

But it was useless their mom just didn't wake up. They couldn't even tell if she was still alive or not, but they, didn't give up. They hoped that their mom would wake up if she had enough energy so they started forcefully opening her mouth to feed her. Two of them went out to hunt, and quickly came back with fish that they fed to their mom.

This was the only thing that they could do, they never encountered a wounded person and didn't know what to do in a situation like this. All they could hope for was that giving fish to her, would recover her wounds.

But it didn't work out well since the crab mom didn't respond and didn't chew or swallow at all. Desperate one of the crabs started to walk into his mom's mouths and crawl into his mom's stomach. His mom wouldn't swallow so he would directly feed it to her.

This was what his guts told him to do and he had no other plan on what could help his mom. After crawling for a while, he ended up at a small acidic lake and his guts told him to drop the fish in there. He didn't know why but that was what his guts told him, he just hoped that could help her.

Meanwhile the other crabs outside were still busy gathering food or crying. They had shifts between gathering food and crying, one team's objective was to wake up their mom and the others was to gather as much food as possible to help their mom. After a while they would shift roles and do the work of the other team.

Sennuas pov

Sennuas was walking alongside a river, she had gotten completely lost. But she could at least get water near the river, something that was very rare in this desert. So, she decided to stay near the river for now, if the other goblins thought the same as her, then they would eventually gather here.

Suddenly she heard crying, she saw a bunch of crying crabs from far away. She had never heard such weird sounds; a crying crab was really a first for her, but she got worried, what happened to the crabs to make them cry like that.

But then she saw the giant crab that wasn't moving and understood the situation. Those crabs had lost their mom, so obviously they would be sad. She didn't know why but she felt pity for them, she also had lost many friends recently and she wanted to help people that are in similar situations.

She walked towards the crabs, hoping that there was something that she could still do. But she wasn't sure, from this distance she could already see the wound and it looked frightening. If the crab mom survived this then it deserved the title of toughest crab. But that didn't stop Sennua she should at least try to help, maybe she could do something.
