Chapter 8: Chapter 7
The next morning, when I wake up, I find a hustle in the castle. Of course, its full moon tonight. I got out of my bed, thinking to help my mum with the spell.
The spells a little complicated, actually very complicated. All the ingredients required were present. The nite stone, the blood of a hybrid, Aarons ,and the blood of their prey, well that was me, so my blood.
The spell was kind of a riddle. It wasnt very clear; witches are a little freak-ish. They like to do everything in a very peculiar way. The riddle says;
"Nite holds them, lycanthropes
Bleeda of the lycanthropes
None can hold them off
Xept the prey they fall upon
Once converted can return
By the powerful of em all"
So we had to crack it. And I think we did it right. As for the previous full moons, the blood of the werewolves was used. But maybe, it says the blood of the hybrids. We can always try; maybe this is the time.
The nite stone is kind of an irregular cylindrical octagonal shape. It was dark black in color with some white spots on it.
"Mum, are you sure you cracked it right, right?"
"I did, darling, lets hope for the best, yeah."
"I'll be there with you", I said when I was looking out of the window of her room.
"No, you wont", she said; "You and Aaron will stay in the castle."
"But mum, Aarons a wizard, and I'm a clone, maybe we can distract them, and you guys can cast the spell, you can even channel my power to do so."
"Its very dangerous, and we cant risk that."
"But maybe my power can undo the spell; you told me yourself that clones are very powerful."
"They are darling, but I cant risk your life for it, can I?" she said and opened the door saying;
"You should go, Im gonna prepare the spell."
"Mum...." I said.
"You and Aaron are staying in the castle, periodt."
Now get out, I have work to do.
I went out of her room and go straight to Aaron if he knows about it.
"Aaron", I said. He was in the meeting room with my father and the king of our ally.
"A word, please", I said, and he came out.
"What happened, grace?"
"Do you know were gonna be staying in the castle this full moon?"
"Yeah, I know. Grace, I think mums right. We cant cast the spell and protect you at the same time; you know the werewolves gonna hunt you."
"But, I'm the key to distract them from mum, dad."
"We have a strategy for it." he said; "come with me."
He took me to the place where the ritual was to be performed.
"Why are we here?"
"A little patience, sis."
He had a syringe in his hand, he took my blood and poured two to three drops on the closest possible trees.
"Look, that was the strategy."
"Oh, not bad, bro."
The scent of my blood will distract the werewolves from my mum, dad, and they will perform the spell.
