I was awakened by my ringing phone and I grabbed it on top of my nightstand, then I answered the call.
"What?"
"Lou, we're now in front of your house. We've been ringing the doorbell for hours already! Aren't you going to let us in?" Andrei answered.
"You're exaggerating things Drei! I'm sorry, I fell asleep. Wait, I'll open the door now." I replied then I ended the call.
I went out of my bedroom then ran down the stairs. I walked towards the front door then opened it and there, I saw my two crazy friends grinning.
"We brought some snacks! I'm sure you haven't eaten your lunch yet!" Andrei exclaimed instantly the moment he saw me and I just gave him a smile.
They went inside my house and then I closed the door. They sat on the couch in the living room and placed the food they're bringing on the table. I sat beside Meg and she handed me a cupcake.
"Thank you Meg." I said as I take a bite from the cupcake.
"Drei, aren't you going to tell us about the devils?" Meg asked Andrei.
Andrei's eyes suddenly went sad. He shook his head then he began to speak.
"During my one-year stay in the university, I kept hearing rumors about the devils. They're the most popular students because they're all good-looking and they belong to influential families." He stopped talking and drank from his bottled orange juice.
We didn't talk and we're just waiting for him to continue the story.
"The man beside the one you argued with earlier, he's Dane. Axel Dane Cortez, the son of the president of Don Leoncio Severino International University. His great great grandfather founded the university and the presidency was passed to the eldest child of every family's generation, and he will be the next president of the university."
So that's the reason why Andrei is so confident to say that they can kick us out of the university. We're doomed!
"He's already twenty one. He's a junior and he's taking up Psychology. He's the smartest of the three of them. He tops his class and he has the highest general average among all the students in the university. According to some seniors, he can easily read your mind. He's really good at mind reading and that's why he was labeled as 'the mind reader'."
He was intently staring at me earlier. Was he reading my mind? Of course he was reading your mind Louella! I think he knew that I was a little nervous earlier.
"And who was the man I argued with earlier?" I asked.
"That man is Drake. Jackson Drake Ellizar, the son of the CEO of Ellizar Prime Holdings. His family owns beach resorts, hotels, condominium towers and malls all over Asia. We've been to TopShop Mall, right?" He answered.
"Yes. We used to play in that mall's arcade." Meg replied.
"They own that mall." Andrei stated and I faced Meg who is gaping.
Damn! He's a rich man.
"Isla Paraiso in different parts of the Philippines is theirs too. They also own the SkyHigh Condominium Tower Incorporated and DreamLand Hotel." He continued and I can't help but gape at Andrei.
"Damn! Is he really that rich?" Meg asked and Andrei just nodded.
What else could he have aside from money? Right! He's full of rudeness, egotism and stupidity.
"He plays different sports such as swimming, basketball, football and baseball but he's best at swimming. In fact, he represents our university in the National Universities Swimming Competition and he had already won four gold medals. Two for backstroke and two for freestyle." He paused for a while to eat a cookie but he continued talking right after swallowing.
He will surely drown me if I'll still fight him but I'll never let him bully me.
"And oh! Before I forget, he can easily attract women without even smiling or winking at them! He attracts more girls than the other two. He's sporty and a chick-magnet that's why he was labeled as 'the sporty chick-magnet'."
Oh! I bet he's a womanizer!
"I know you're thinking that he's a womanizer but he is not. In fact, he doesn't want any women to come near him and if that happens, the woman will surely be expelled from the university the next day." He answered as if he has read my mind.
I nodded signaling him to continue talking.
"Drake is twenty one years old and he's also a junior taking up Business Administration. I heard that he's not that good in academics and he cuts classes or sleeps in class but he manages to pass all his subjects." He added.
I was about to ask why only two came when there are three chairs at their table but then Andrei started to talk about the other devil who didn't show up earlier.
I never thought that Andrei is good at mind reading too.
"Aren't you wondering why only two devils showed up when there are three chairs at their table?" Andrei asked.
"Just talk already Drei!" I snapped at him.
"Ace is the other devil. Ace Dominique Mar-" I cut him off.
"Marquez?" I asked and Andrei gaped at me.
Holy cow! Is this for real? So all along, I was right. The owner of the sketchbook is a devil. I already met the other devil and I infuriated him. I will surely be dead!
Should I transfer to another university now? I think we'll be fine as long as they won't bother us.
"Lou how did you know his surname? Have you seen him?" Andrei asked and I nodded.
"The dean of our college asked me to give him back the sketchbook he left in her office. There was a note attached to the sketchbook and I saw his name on it. I went to their classroom and there, I saw him." I replied as I take the sketchbook on the table and showed it to them.
"I thought you returned it to him but why do you still have it?" Meg asked and I scratched my head.
"Before I returned it to him, I scanned its pages and when he took it from my hands he asked me if I looked at his drawings and I lied. I think, he sensed that I was lying so he threw the sketchbook on the trash bin and then he left. I think, I angered the other devil and now, we're totally doomed!" I wailed at them as I cover my face with my hands.
"We'll surely be dead." Meg whispered and Andrei nodded.
"We'll get through this together!" I exclaimed and they looked at me sadly.
"Don't look at me like that! I'm sure we'll find a way to chage their minds about throwing us out of the university. Just leave everything to me." I stated and they just sighed.
"Hey Drei! Aren't you going to tell me- uh, us about the third devil?" I asked.
"Are you interested with that man Lou?" Andrei asked and I felt my cheeks burning.
Damn it! Am I blushing?
"Oh my gosh Lou! You like him!" Meg exclaimed and I quickly shook my head.
Do I like him? I don't know!
"Our Louella is crushing on Ace and she's even blushing!" Meg sang happily as she wiggled her eyebrows at me then she started poking my waist.
I shook my head then bowed my head. Damn! I don't know why I'm suddenly feeling shy.
"Stop it Meg, it's not funny! Just talk already Drei!" I snapped at them and Meg stopped poking my waist.
"Drei! What the hell are you waiting for?!" I snarled at Andrei and he giggled.
"Ace Dominique Marquez is the grandson of the owner of Marquez' Maternity Hospital. His grandmother who is a midwife founded the hospital. His parents are both gynecologist and he belongs to a family of doctors. He's an only child and he's already twenty two. He's a senior taking up Fine Arts and he majors in Painting-" I cut him off then asked.
"I thought he belongs to a family of doctors. How come he enrolled in Fine Arts?"
"Honestly, I don't know the answer to that question. Why don't you ask him instead?" He stated and I just shook my head.
"Anyway, he's really good at arts. He knows how to draw, paint and sculpt but he's best at painting. Lastly- you should listen to this Lou!" He said and then he looked at me sternly before continuing.
"He changes girlfriend almost everyday! Although he doesn't entertain girls from the university, he's still a womanizer. He would flirt with girls in the bar then he would dump them right after he had sex with them. He's never been serious to any woman. After he got what he wants, he'll dump you right away."
"I warn you, Lou. Don't, fall in love with him and if you don't want to get your heart broken, stay away from him." He stated and I nodded.
Is he really that bad? But why do I feel like he seems nice and I want to approach him. I badly want to get to know him deeply.
"You too Meg, don't fall in love with any of them. They're dangerous and they're up to no good." Andrei added.
"What if we befriend them? What if-" Andrei cut me off.
"Everyone fears them Lou, even the professors fear them. No one dared to come near them because they don't want anyone to come near them and I think, we should just stay away from them. Did you know that they already expelled almost five hundred students and it's all because of Drake. As I've said earlier, he doesn't want any women to approach him so every time a woman comes to him, he'll expel her the next day. I also heard that they already expelled almost a hundred of professors and deans." He said.
"How about Ace? Or Axel? Can't we be friends with them?" I asked.
"Don't be so stubborn Lou. Let's just stay away from them starting on Monday. After what happened earlier, I don't think we should show our faces to them again. Heck, I don't even know if we're still students of DLSIU." He replied as he brush his hair flusteredly.
"What do you mean?" I asked confusedly.
"Maybe, they've already expelled us." Andrei answered.
"That won't happen Drei. I'm sure of it." I firmly stated.
"We're lucky if that happens but I trust you Lou. We're on this together, right?" He said as he opens his hands widely.
Meg and I nodded and we both hugged him as he envelope us in his embrace.
I am so lucky to have them both. I can't bear to lose any of them.
After hours of chatting and eating, they already left and I'm all alone again in this huge house. I already took a bath and changed into nightclothes. I sat on my bed and then I took Ace's sketchbook on my nightstand and scan its pages.
After I've learned that he's a womanizer, why do I still want to know him deeply?
I'm sure that Andrei will get mad at me if he knew that I went to him but if I won't do it, I'll surely betray my heart and I don't want that to happen. I hope that Andrei would understand me.
So many things had happened today. I met the three devils and after meeting them, I am anxious of going back to the university. On the other hand, I also feel excited about it because I might see Ace again.
I will see him again and I will do my best to become closer to him. I can't betray my own heart and I won't let it happen.
