Chapter 23: The Date (Part 3)

"Are we there yet?", Mika was almost jumping up and down on her seat.

"We just left your neighbourhood you know", Noah said without taking his eyes off the road.

"But how much time is it going to take?", she came closer to his face.

Seeing his little brat being so excited was just making his heart flutter. He sighed and gently held Mika's head to push her to her seat.

"Be a little patient doll, we'll be there soon", he gently patted her head.

Mika melted right at that place. The warmth from his touch is somehow enough to make her feel comfortable and quiet.

O- okay", she whispered underneath her breath while being all blushed up.

"Good girl", Noah smiled with a hint of a smirk.

She quickly bowed her head, looking down at her hands playing with her nails and being careful not to look Noah in the eye because her cheeks were burning up.

All of a sudden, her phone starts to buzz, making Noah irritating for interrupting their time. On the other hand, Mika was quite happy because she had something to distract from all the embarrassing stuff that happened a while ago.

"Hello?", she responds.

A voice quite familiar to her ears came from the other side.

~ Hello there Mika! ~

"Hey Ryan, what's up?", she answered with no enthusiasm because even she wasn't too happy that THIS GUY was the one to call when she was on a sweet date with Noah. (Yeah, she admits it in her head that it's a date)

~ Are you free today? ~

"Not really what's up?"

~ I was thinking about hanging out together ~

"Oh, that's thoughtful but I'm sorry I can't."

~ C'mon! I know you are planning on sleeping in your apartment the whole day. Just come out! ~

"Come out? Where are you?", she interrogated.

~ I had some work in your neighbourhood, so I'm close enough to your place ~

"How do you even know where I live?" she was all confused now. Noah was driving calmly but, on the inside, he was listening to the conversation very carefully.

~ Does it really matter? Come on let's hang out! ~

"Ryan I can't. I'm with Noah the whole day", she said making sure that it was clear to him. For almost three seconds there was a pause from the other side.

~ Ah, that guy from before huh? Alright then. Enjoy ~

Before Mika could even reply Ryan had hung up the call. Mika shrugged and put back her phone.

"Would you do me a favour?", Noah spoke as soon as her phone talk was over.

"Yeah?", she replied like an obedient little girl.

"Can you pick up the bag in the backseat? There's something I got for you", Noah smiled.

"Yeah sure!", Mika quickly tuned back and reached to the bag, which was bigger than she expected.

"Can I look inside!?", she started jumping again.

Noah twisted his eyebrows and gave Mika a fierce look, making her quite clear that she should be not jumping like that. She quickly stopped her actions and looked down.

"Good girl", he smirked. "Go ahead, you can open it".

Mika's eyes lit up. If it's a present or a surprise, even the smallest one is enough to make her happy. She almost tore the seal on the top instead of just pulling it out.

She looked inside too clearly, almost getting her head inside the bad. A loud screaming left her mouth.

"IS THIS!!??", Mika looked at Noah with her eyes shining and filled with joy.

Noah nodded, smiling at her little girl's reaction.

Mika took out a red velvet box with a little silver diamond in the middle. She opened it up and found something from her long lost dreams. It was a crystal gem tiara. Something that she had her eyes o for years. She gasped again after taking it out. It couldn't be prettier than this. She couldn't take her eyes off her. Being a tarot reader this was something really special for her.

"Do you want to wear it right now?", Noah asked.

"Are you crazy?", Mika raised her voice. "If you think that I'll be wearing my precious tiara to an amusement park think again! No one is allowed to touch it until we get home", she declared.

"Yes ma'am", he scoffed.

After Mika asking when they would reach after every five minutes they finally reached their destination. 'Magico', the word was enough to get her pumped up.

"Let's go! let's go! let's go!", Mika dived out of the car. Thankfully Noah held her from the back so she would not get lost like she always does in such places.

After frowning, pouting, sulking and getting scolded, Mika finally agreed to not runoff. But just to make sure Noah grabbed her hand and headed towards the gate, which made little tingles to be spread throughout her body.

"Where do you wanna go first?", he asked her showing her the map.

She took her sweet time to choose the ride even though she had planned to take every single one them.

"THIS ONE!", she pointed out to the big roller coaster. She was all fired up and her eyes were as similar to a sports player.

"Alright", Noah laughed.

A loud screaming with the sense of enjoyment and overwhelming height, Mika was happier than anyone.

"Horror house next!!!", she screamed as soon as she as she got off.

"Are you sure?", Noah asked.

"Of course! I'm not a scared kitty like Grace! Do you know even a moth can scare her!", she completely jumped from one topic to another.

"Alright then. It's your words", he smirked.

She puffed up her chest because after she had performed exorcisms on her clients she was pretty confident nothing could scare her. But maybe she didn't think this one through.

A loud scream left her mouth as soon a big freaky spider dropped in front of her face. Its size was equal to her own. To extend her bad luck, even more, it was crawling towards her. Her fear of spiders was something she never had control over.

Mika grabbed onto Noah's arm. When she did, he could feel her trembling body. Her eyes were getting teary and she was screaming holding him tightly to her chest.

"Now now babydoll, don't be scared", he patted her head. But this didn't seem to work on her. She was beyond the point to be calmed down. But she had a partner who was not to someone to be taken lightly. Noah came in front of the little crybaby and quickly picked her up.

He took him in his arm as she wrapped her legs around his waist. Her arms were holding his shoulders as tightly as possible. He stepped forward and went to the nearest exit. He could feel the warmth around his body holding her. At some point he didn't want to go outside,instead he was okay with holding her like that for days. Obviously he took the sensible choice and kept walking.

Mika was coming back to her senses, she was over the fear but when she realised that Noah was holding her in his arms, she was beyond embarrassed. She didn't even have the power to fight back. She just kept her mouth shut until he dropped her on her feet again.

"Are you okay now?", Noah asked bending down to see her face close. He held her cheeks in his palm. He was able to feel how hot they were getting by being red.

"Ye- yes", she flinched. Not being able to process everything that happened.

Her cheeks were red as a tomato, her eyes were glittery and her lips were trembling.

"That good then", Noah kissed her forehead to tease her a little more.

It was like her face exploded with embarrassment. She quickly started looking here and there to find something to take her mind off this. And she did.

In front of them, there was a bear mascot ice cream stand in which they were presenting a little show before handing out the orders.

"Ice-cream!", Mika grabbed Noah's cuff with her innocent little cat eyes.

"Alright", Noah couldn't help but chuckle.

But maybe it wasn't a good decision after all. Just to see the mascot perform, Mika had two ice creams. Noah could see that she was full because she could nearly finish the second one.

"I'm still hungry! let's buy one more!", she was hopping like a bunny in front of him.

"No doll. You already had two. And I know you are full, so there's no way we're letting your health suffer just for the mascot", he put it in a stern voice. Not soft or gentle but strict and straightforward.

"It's not like that", Mika diverted her eyes.

Noah twisted his eyebrows and looked at Mika, making sure that she knew he wasn't the one to mess with.

"NO! I want it! I want it!", she started throwing her tantrum.

"Mika! I said no", he made it clear.

"But I want it!", she started getting cranky.

"Alright now", Noah sighed. "Come with me", he grabbed her hand and started walking.

"Wh- where?", Mika got a little worried from the seriousness in his tone.

"The ferris wheel", he answered calmly.

"Oh, but what about the fluffy bear's ice cream?", Mika couldn't help asking.

"We'll see about it after we come back", Noah smirked.

Mika nodded. And they both headed towards the giant wheel in front of them.
