Chapter 4: Welcome to Yasagomi High
I woke up in an area covered in fog, there's red tiles on the floor, but I can't see anything else, except Yu.
"What's going on?" I asked
"I do not know, The thing or the situation we're currently in is a weird dream." He said
We followed the path, it almost seems endless.
"Do you seek the truth?" We heard someone say.
We continued on forward.
"If it's truth you desire, come and find me." It said from up ahead.
We continued onwards. We found a huge red square door. On the other side there was a silhouette of a person.
"So.. you are the ones pursuing me." It said. "Try all you like."
We summoned our Personas and tried multiple attacks.
"So you can see a little, despite the fog. But you will not catch me easily. If what you seek is "truth", then your search will be even harder."
The fog deepened and we tried to attack again.
"Everyone only sees what they want to. And the fog only deepens." It said
We tried attacking again.
"Will we meet again? At a place other than here. Hmm, I am looking forward to it." It said.
The both of us passed out.
April 12: 2011
I woke up from the dream, that was weird. What was that all about? There was a knock on the door.
"Breakfast's ready!" Nanako said.
I guess it's that time then. I got changed into my school uniform, it's just a generic black and white outfit.
"Good morning." Nanako said.
Yu and I headed to the table.
"Ok! Let's eat." She said
"Do you do the cooking?" I asked her.
"I can toast bread, and cook sunny side up eggs in the morning." She said. "Dad can't cook so I buy dinner. You two are starting school today right? My school's along the way, so let's go together." She said
School Zone, Samegawa Flood Plain.
We headed alongside the riverbank.
"You keep going this way. My school is that way." She said as she headed in the opposite direction.
School Zone, in front of the school.
There was a guy biking past us uncontrollably. He crashed into a street light. That looked like it hurt, he seems ok so I guess we'll leave him be.
We got to the gates of Yasagomi High. Time to see what kind of trouble we can get into.
In the classroom.
A bunch of students were standing around.
"Ugh, talk about bad luck. The home room teacher here is Morooka, isn't it?"
"Yeah it's King Moron alright. We get to enjoy his long ass sermons every day for a year."
"Hey you guys, I hear we're getting two new transfer students from the city."
"Guys or girls?"
"Transfer students from the city? Just like you huh Yosuke?" A girl in green asked. "Huh? You look dead today."
"Yeah um, I don't want to talk about it." Yosuke said.
"What's with him?" The girl in green asked
"Who knows?" The girl in red answered.
The teacher walked the both of us in.
"Alright shut your traps! I'm Kinshiro Morooka, your homeroom teacher from today forward! First things first! Just cause it's spring doesn't mean you can swoon over each other like love struck baboons! Long as I'm around, you students are gonna be pure as the driven snow. Now I hate wasting my time, but I better introduce these transfer students. These sad sacks' were thrown from the big city out to the middle of nowhere like yesterday's trash. And they're just as much of a loser here as they were there, so you girls better not get any ideas about hitting on them! Tell them your names and make it quick." He said
"You calling me a loser?" I asked
"That's it, you're on my shitlist effective immediately. Now listen up! This town is miles away from your big city of perverts and assholes, in more ways then one! You better not think of getting involved with the girls here, let alone abusing them! But what do I know? It's not like the old days, even here kids grow up so damn fast. Every time I turn around, you're fooling around on those damn phones, checking your life journals and your my-places!" He said
The man went on and on.
"Excuse me! Is it ok if the transfer students sit here?" A girl in green asked
"Huh? Yeah sure. Ya here that? Your seats are over there! So hurry up and siddown already!" He said.
Yu and I sat down. I was beside the one in Red, he was beside the one in Green.
"He's the worst huh? Rotten luck for you to have to get stuck in this class. Well, we just have to hang in there for a year." She said
There were people talking all around.
"Sucks to be the transfer students, ending up in King Moron's class on the first morning here."
"Yeah, he won't think twice about suspending you if you get on his bad side. Then again, we're all in the same boat."
"Shut your traps! I'm taking roll, and I damn well expect you to respond in an orderly matter!"
Whelp, it's the first day of school and I already hate Homeroom.
"That's all for today! Normal lectures will start tomorrow." He said.
The school intercom went off.
"Attention all teachers. Please report to the Faculty Office for a brief staff meeting." It said. "All students are to return to their classrooms and are not to leave until further notice."
"Hmph! You heard the announcement! Don't go anywhere until you hear otherwise!" King Moron said
"He's seriously getting on my nerves."
There were sirens going off. Students ran up to the window.
"Did something happen? Don't those Sirens sound really close?"
"Ugh I can't see a damn thing, frickin fog."
"Yeah every time it rains lately it gets all foggy."
"Hey did you hear? I heard that the paparazzi is looking all over for that announcer."
"Oh yeah, you mean Mayumi Yamano right? I heard some guys spotted her at the shopping district."
"Actually I heard that-"
I couldn't catch the rest of that conversation.
"Hey Yukiko, Mind if I ask you something?" He asked the girl in Red. "Is it true that that announcer's staying at your family's inn?"
"I can't discuss such things." She said
"Yeah I guess not."
The girl in green walked up to Yukiko.
"Sheesh, how much longer is this going to take?"
"There's no telling."
"I should've left before the announcement came on. By the way, didja try what I told you the other day? You know, that thing about rainy nights?"
"Oh, no not yet. Sorry."
"Aw, it's ok. I heard some guy in the class next door yell, "My soulmate is Yamano, the announcer!""
The intercom went off again.
"Attention all students! There has been an incident inside the school district. Police Officers have been dispatched around the School Zone. Please stay calm and contact your parents or guardians as soon as possible, and quickly leave the school grounds. Do not disturb the police officers. Head directly home. I repeat-"
"Incident?"
"What? Did something actually happen?"
"C'mon, let's go take a look."
Yu and I got up. Yukiko and the other girl went over to talk to him, I made my way out of the classroom.
Third person
"Are you heading home by yourself? Oh, nearly forgot! I'm Chie (chi Ay) Satanoka. You know I sit next to you right?" She asked
"Of course." Yu said.
"Nice to meet you. This is Yukiko Amagi."
"Oh, nice to meet you. I'm sorry that this is so sudden."
"C'mon don't apologize like that. It makes me look like I got no upbringing. I just wanted to ask some stuff. Really, that's all." She said
They headed out of the room, and bumped into Yosuke.
"Oh, Miss Satonaka. This was really awesome. Like, the way they moved was just amazing to see, and, I'm really sorry it was accident! Please show mercy until my next pay check!" He said as he handed her a DVD. "See ya, thanks!"
"Stop right there! What did you do to my DVD?" She asked as she ran off after him.
They stopped at the door and Yosuke was hunched over in pain.
"What the? What happened to the disk? It's completely cracked! My "Trial of the Dragon"!"
"I think mine's cracked too. Critical hit to the nads." He said
"Are you alright?" Yukiko said
"Yukiko, are you worried about me?"
"He's fine Yukiko! Let's ditch him and go home!" Chie said.
Yu left him be and headed out of the classroom.
First Person POV.
On my way out I bumped into a shorter guy, with blue hair and a hat.
"Sorry about that." I said
"It's ok, I wasn't watching where I was going. Say, I haven't seen you here before." He said
"That's because I'm new here. I'm Y/n Bessho." I said
"I'm Naoto Shirogane. I'm a junior detective here at Yasagomi." He said.
"Really? Cool, well, I'll see you later Naoto!" I said
I caught up with Yu and the others. Yukiko was approached by a guy.
"You're Yuki right? Y- you want to go out somewhere?" He asked nervously.
"Who are you?" She asked
"Who's that? What school is he from?"
"Never mind that, he's going for Yukiko? Man, you'd think he'd wait until she's alone to make his move."
"I bet you a can of TaP he gets knocked out."
"No bet, haven't you heard how difficult the Amagi challenge is?"
"S-so, are you coming or not?" He asked
"I- I'm not going." She said
"Fine!" He said before running off.
"What did he want from me?" Yukiko asked.
"What did he want? Obviously, he was asking you out on a date."
"Huh? Really?"
"You really had no clue? Sheesh. But then again, that was way over the top. It was creepy how he called you Yuki all of a sudden." Chie said
"Yo Yukiko. Turn down another lovelorn fool huh?" Yosuke asked. "Man you're cruel, you got me the same way last year."
"I don't recall doing that." Yukiko said.
"Whoa you serious? So then, you wanna hang out sometime?" He asked
"I'd rather not." She said
Yosuke looked disappointed.
"That'll teach me to get my hopes up. Anyways you two better not pick on the transfer students too long." He said as he rode off.
"We're just curious is all!" Chie said
"I'm sorry for dragging you into this." Yukiko said
"C'mon let's go! Everyone's staring." Chie said
We headed on home.
