Chapter 9: Chapter 9
"Welcome back honey. Look what your father got you today." My mother said with a smile. She held a chess board in front of her and I walked over to her. She handed me the chess board and I took it.
"Thank you mother. This is amazing! I'm so happy." I said with with a smile. She nodded and I walked up the stairs and to my room. Sebastian followed me and into my room.
"Young master, may I check your arms." He asked, when we got inside. I looked at him while placing the chess board on my desk. I let out a sigh and pulled up my sleeves. Sebastian examined my arms and closed his eyes.
"I'm glad you didn't do anything foolish." He said. I nodded and said, "Do you know how to play chess?" He walked over to me and said, "Yes, young master." I nodded and said, "I'll change now. Let's have dinner afterwards." He nodded and asked, "Would you like me to bring the food up here?" I nodded and he walked out the door, closing it behind.
I walked over to my wardrobe and picked out a pair of grey sweatpants and a t-shirt. I changed into them and took out my coffee table from the side of the wardrobe. I unfolded the legs and placed it on the center of my room and took the chess board from my desk and placed it on the coffee table.
Sebastian came after a while with a tray in his hands. He placed the tray down and I said, "Please sit down there." I pointed across the table and he did. "Teach me how to play." I said. He nodded and started unboxing the chess board.
I placed the tray down, on the ground and took the bowl of mac n' cheese. He already placed the chess pieces in their places. I took a spoon of the mac n' cheese and put it in my mouth.
"The objective of the game is to checkmate the king using the other pieces. In this game you eat pieces to get your way to the king." I nodded and continued listening to him explain, while eating my mac n' cheese.
After a while of explaining, I understood the concepts and the roles of each piece. We started our game and of course Sebastian won. We played for a while before I got tired and said, "I'll go to the cliff." He nodded and said, "I'll come with you, young master." I shook my head and said, "I'd like to go myself."
He nodded and said, "Please call for me if something happens." I nodded and got up and so did he. He placed the, now empty, bowl on the tray and followed me out.
I walked to the door and before leaving said, "Can you tell my mother that I went out for a while."
"Indeed, young master." Sebastian said and I left.
*time skip to the cliff*
I sat down on the edge as usual, looking down at the trees. "Where's Sebastian?" I voice called out from behind. I got up and followed the voice and saw Grelle.
"Grelle. I want to talk." I said. He looked surprised but said, "Ok, but make it quick." I nodded and sat down on the grass.
He did the same and I started, "Can you tell me about Sebastian and his past." I asked. Grelle looked confused and said, "Well, he was always charming. Nothing really changed about him. Why ask?" He asked at the end.
I didn't answer and said, "That's not important. Did he have a special other?" I asked hesitantly.
"I see. We're in the same boat honey." I gave him a questioning look and stuttered, "W-What do you m-mean?"
"Oh dear! You really do like him. Let me tell you this. There was this woman, ugh! The thought of her pisses me off." He said cutting himself off. I felt a small blush creep up to my cheek and I asked, "W-What woman?"
Grelle looked 'heartbroken' and pulled out a picture from the pocket of his red suit. He handed the picture to me and my jaws dropped when I saw the picture. "And you know what happened next. This made me think about curling my hair."
"I'm not in the same boat as you, Grelle. I do not have any feelings towards Sebastian." I said, handing the picture back to Grelle. He took it and put it back.
"You're a Grim Reaper, right?" I asked. He nodded and I stood up and said, "I have to go now. Please don't tell Sebastian about this conversation."
"Under on condition." Grelle said holding up a finger above his lips. I looked at him and said, "What condition?"
His face grew red and he said, "I can have Sebastian to myself." I quickly said, "No."
"How about one day. All to myself." He started making bets. I shook my head and said, "He's not an object. He has his own mind and will. Just because we made a contract, that doesn't mean I control his life."
"You know nothing about contracts do you." Grelle said through his shark teeth.
"And even if I do control his life, I don't want to. I'm sure I'm still being bossy, but I will reduce it. It's his life." I said before turning back and starting to walked again but he said, "Then, let me work for you to."
I looked back at him and said, "What do you mean?"
He started squirming around as his blush grew bigger and he said, "I want to 'work' with Sebastian at your house." I sighed and said, "If that's what it takes to keep you quiet. Fine..." He jumped in the air and let out a 'woohoo.'
He walked up to me and I said, "But you have to live by our household rules, if you don't want to get fired." He nodded and I continued, "1, my family is religious, try acting less gay, or dress up as a girl and work as a maiden. 2, please don't make Sebastian feel uncomfortable. Those are the main ones for now."
He nodded and said, "I'm a great actress. Count on me. Ooh, what do your maid outfits look like? Are they cute?"
"I don't know. We have a 2 maids and I'm sure my parents are hiring more. Can you, um, change your hair color? It's against my parent's religion." He nodded and when I turned to him, his hair was no longer red, but now brown.
"How does this look?" He asked. I gave him a thumbs up and said, "The maids will give you a tour."
He let out an excited squeal and said, "I can't wait to meet Sebastian." I nodded and we soon arrived at our house.
The gates opened after scanning my face and we walked down the stone path, "Do you know how to be a maid?" I asked. He gave me an offended look and said, "Are you doubting my skills?" I quickly put my hands up in defense and said, "No, no, just making sure."
His face grew a pout and I said, "Do you mind changing your name a bit? A little bit more feminine?" He nodded and said, "How does, Grizellda sound?" He added so much force to the 'Z.' I nodded and said, "That works."
"Young master? What is he doing here?" I looked up and saw Sebastian a few feet away from us. I saw Grelle jump in excitement and jump over to him for a hug, but Sebastian crouched down and Grelle fell with a big 'thud.'
Sebastian walked over to me and said, "Young master, has he done anything to hurt you? What is that retard doing here?" I looked down and said, "His name is now, Griselda. 'She,' is now going to work here as a maiden."
Sebastian pulled my face up by my chin and looked me straight in the eye and said, "Master, you know how dangerous that is. He's a Grim Reaper. He could end your life anytime. You shouldn't trust him." I looked away to the side and said, "I'll be fine as long as you're by my side."
"Hey! Y/n! What are you doing?!" I pushed myself away from Sebastian and walked over to Grelle. "So, Griselda, you know what to do." He nodded and we walked in.
"Mother!?" I called out from the door. My mother called out from her room and told me to come there. I did, with Grelle. We walked into her room and she was going over papers on her desk.
"Mother." I said again. She kept her gaze on the papers and let out a 'hm.' "This is Griselda. She saw one of the posters you hung up and found me while I was out. She's here to be a maiden." My mother looked up and said, "Oh, dear. Um... nice to meet you."
Grelle intertwined his fingers together and held them in front of his chest and said, "It's a pleasure to meet you ma'am." My mother looked nervous and said, "Well then tell one of the maids to give you your outfit and show you around."
We nodded and walked out of her room, closing the door behind. One of the maidens walked up to us and said, "Please follow me." Grelle nodded in excitement and followed her to the maids room.
"Young master, are you sure you made the right choice?" Sebastian said walking over to me. I nodded and said, "I'm positive." With a smile.
Grelle came out with the maid outfit on him and when he saw Sebastian he jumped for another hug, but Sebastian dodged again. Sebastian let out a groan and said, "I'll be upstairs if you need me, young master." I nodded and walked over to Grelle.
"Grel- I mean Griselda, I'll show you around instead." I helped Grelle get up and reassured the maid that I could deal with it. She nodded and went back to what she was doing as I walked Grelle around.
The tour ended pretty fast and Grelle seemed to understand everything.
