Chapter 3: Chapter 2

"Are you ready to continue?"

Having taken the last pill, I folded my arms and straightened my back. I hadn't told him everything yet, there was still a whole lot more to go.

"I'm ready now."

January 27, 2020

Another day, another normal school life. I honestly considered myself a nobody here. Blending in with the other lowkey people. I wasn't a prodigy or someone flashy; I quite liked it that way. Everything about me was average. I would always wake up late, due to the excessive amount of late night reading I would do, so breakfast was always a pass. The vending machine, at school, was were I would head to every morning. I liked how nobody seemed to go there anymore. I could be alone as much as I wanted. It felt good to be alone.

"Hey, sensitive skin girl!"

Hearing that, I couldn't help but feel queasy. Sure enough, I recognized that voice. As much as I hated the reality of it, I turned around.

I don't know what caught my attention more. It was either the multiple piercings on both his ears or how feminine he looked. Long and slim legs with a small and defined face. Not at all muscular nor manly like. Only his voice was deep like a guys. If he were to have long hair, surely he could have been cat fishing all the guys at school.

"Don't call me that."

Great. I couldn't stay alone anymore. I didn't even get the chance to buy my water. My day was already crap.

"Hey, I've just transferred here and I don't know anyone. You're the first person I've talked to and I was hoping you could show me where the Guidance Counselor was?"

What a cliche.

"Just ask someone else, I'm sure you'll find a teacher who'll be more than honored to take you there."

Saying that, I quickly headed over to my class and prepared myself for a mentally draining day.

I don't know for how long I was lost in thought, but sure enough I was gone long enough to not notice them introduce the new person in class. Shit, this day was ass. Seeing those ear piercings, from the corner of my eye, was enough for me to feel distressed.

"Rina, can you head over here. We have a guest and I want you to meet him."

My mom knew how much I hated talking to people, but she also knew I couldn't be mean to them. That's just my way of living. Seeing who was the guest, nothing more than a simple four letter word unknowingly came out.

"Fuck."

"Rina! How can you be so rude. Apologize to him right now."

"Sorry."

With that I headed to my room and sat on the floor. Maybe it was just a coincidence. The pharmacy was close by and the possibility of him living around the are was there. Him being my neighbor, was just a coincidence. Nothing more than that.

After I heard the door close, I decided to come out.

"Rina, I know you don't like talking to people that much, but try to be nice to him. He just moved here and his parents don't live with him."

"Name?"

"Zack."

END OF DAY

"Rina, it's already lunch. Do you want anything in particular to eat?"

"A tuna sandwich without the crusts."

"After you're finished eating, we're going to continue. This time I'd like you to tell me about what happened on February 1, outside the pharmacy."

I was waiting for him to ask me that.
