Chapter 1
Louisiana 1984
"So what do you prefer red or blue bubblegum?"
"Probably red it tastes good," He said to his brother
"Good choice Charlie" His brother bought the bubblegum and ran out of the candy store. They walked on the sidewalk side by side Charlie was bouncing the basketball while Frankie playfully took the ball away from him he shoved him a little bit as they were both laughing
"So have you done your project for science class Frankie?" He asked him
"Oh shit I forgot" He snapped his finger
"Well what animal are you going to do"
"Why... not a bear that's something"
"You know you got to do a lot of research... You got to do it until Monday"
"You worry too much don't worry I'll do it when we get home". They got home Frankie quickly ran upstairs to his room and got on his computer
" Where do I even start," He told himself so he grabbed his notepad and a jar full of pencils he looked up
Bear's natural habitat
He found so interesting stuff that he didn't know bears could do as he was working he was distracted by a car pulling up it was a black truck and came out of it was a woman with a professional outfit on he gazed at her lovingly he rests his head on his arm and started saying her name

With her beautiful honey skin and hazel eyes short black hair
"Sometimes she doesn't look real but... she is!!" he told himself but something broke his gaze when he saw her husband hugging her he smacked his lips and went back to his studies. In the morning he was running to school because he was late he flung the door
open
"You're late Woods, " The teacher said
he sat next to his friend (David) he and David fist-bumped
"Ok everyone turn in your assessments" Everyone did except David
"Where's your assessment, Parker?" She said sternly
"My dog ate my homework" With a smirk on his face everyone chuckled
"See you after school" Frankie and David did a low five while the teacher was writing on the board David whispered to him
"So what are you doing this weekend?"
"Same old same old" while shaking his hand side to side
"So... you're not visiting your girlfriend " since he's the only one who knew he had a crush on his next-door neighbor
"Well I could but she's working on the weekend" all of the sudden they hear a clearing throat behind them they turned around at the same time
"Detention both of you". They sat at the detention class for 20mins
" Ok y'all can leave now" so they did when they were walking
"Can I spend the night at your house?" Frankie asked
"Sure are your parents fighting again?"
"Well sorta but it's getting... better I guess"
"How?"
"They fight at night when I and Charlie are asleep"
"Your parents really need therapy"
"I told them that but..." He stopped walking and stared David was confused until he looked where he was staring at it was Yulia (his next-door neighbor)
"Your girlfriend" He teases
Frankie shoved him a little
"Yeah," He said with a smile
Yulia looked up and saw both of them and waved
" Frankie come here darling," She said
he got excited, David pushed him towards her
He walked to her and stood next to her she smiled at him
her smile is like bright pearls He thought
"Honey, can you please come over and dog sit just for tomorrow my husband is working"
"Anything for you" with an obvious loving gaze she smiled at him again
"Thank you darling" He walked off him and his friend went inside of the house and into his room
"Darling... honey bro, she obviously likes you," David told him while sitting on his bed he thought about what he said he wants it to be true but he thought about her husband
"I mean... what about Billy"
"Who's that"
"Her husband"
"Oh that's right and besides she's old"
" She's not old"
"Dude your 17 and she's 32... She's 15 years older than you"
"I guess your right" while rubbing his head
"I gotta go if I don't get home tonight my dad will kill me"
as he takes off Frankie says bye he changed into his nightclothes and was thinking about what he said
I know she's older than me but I really like her I don't know what to do
