Chapter 6: The Woman Who Waited 10,000 Years
A man in a light blue robe with his hair tied up into a ponytail continues to talk to Yin Yu. "Fellow cultivator, I really am bored just wandering around aimlessly. The first time I met you, I knew immediately that you're no ordinary cultivator. Tsk tsk. I haven't seen anyone as handsome as you are. Just who the hell are your parents? Why do they have to make someone who has a face like yours? You're making me jealous. Aiya, if I have your appearance, I can get any girl I want! Hehehe. Just imagining my own harem already makes me excited."
The man continued talking endlessly but Yin Yu still acted as if he heard or saw nothing.
"What's your favorite food? Mine is braised pork belly. Uwahh. I haven't had them for so many years. How long is it you ask? It's been over 200 years now."
Two hundred years?
Immediately, Yin Yu's interest piqued up.
Not long after walking, Yin Yu encountered an old lady with white hair on the way. She carried an oil lamp in her hand to light up the way for her.
She stopped as she looked at Yin Yu from head to toe. Then, she said, "Young man, the night is long. Be careful of ghosts. Don't be led astray from the world of the living."
"Hey, old hag, who are you to say be careful of ghosts? I've been wandering here for 200 years and have seen no ghost whatsoever." The man talked in a slightly annoyed manner.
But, Yin Yu acted as if he heard nothing of what the man said and nodded towards the old lady.
The old lady walked away. From the beginning to the end, she didn't even take a glance at the man that had been talking non-stop.
"Hmph, ghosts. Even if there are ghosts, what can they even do? If they want to harm me, I'm going to beat them up!"
…..*Ding*
The sound of bells suddenly sounded. The man froze immediately after hearing it.
*Ding*
The man's lips trembled. Hearing that the sound of bells was coming closer and closer to where they were at, he lightly coughed, "Ahem, nature calls. I'm going now!"
Not a second more and the man had already left running for his life.
Yin Yu looked at the back of the man that was running further and further away.
Turns out he's only a low level ghost. The ones that are going to appear any second now…
'High ranking ghosts.' Yin Yu thought inwardly. Thinking for a moment, Yin Yu decided to hide his powers as if he has never touched anything related to cultivation before. Not just a moment later, somebody called out to him.
"Mister."
Two girls in the white hanfu dress called out as they appeared in front of Yin Yu. They looked like twin sisters as each of them held onto their own lamp.
The one on the right began with an emotionless tone, "Our master would like to meet you."
"Me?" Yin Yu raised his brow slightly.
"Yes." The one on the left replied this time, "Please follow us."
Then, the two girls turned around as their lamps lit out the way and began walking. Yin Yu followed them. The more he followed, the darker the surroundings became until the only thing he saw are the lamps in front of him.
As time passed, the light on the lamp became dimmer and dimmer. Not just half an hour later, the light completely disappears from Yin Yu's sight. For a while, there was only darkness and silence.
Yin Yu stopped walking. The moment he stopped, he felt a presence from behind. Suddenly, somebody hugged him from behind out of nowhere and leaned their head against Yin Yu's back.
That person felt soft. Yet, their body was as cold as ice.
Yin Yu grabbed onto the cold hands that were holding onto his waist tightly. He didn't say anything, waiting for the other person to take the initiative first.
"Li Yin. You finally came back. All these years, day and night I've always tried a way to search for you. I miss you."
The voice was as soft and smooth as a gentle spring. If any ordinary person were to hear that voice, they would imagine only the most beautiful goddess to have such a voice.
'Li Yin?'
Yin Yu closed his eyes. Although he doesn't know who this Li Yin is, he still asked, "How did you find me?"
"Was it too long that you've forgotten?" The girl's hold tightened. "Inside you is half of my soul. How could I not have found you? But...Why did it take you 10,000 years to be back? Do you know how much suffering I went through when I can't find you as each day passes?"
'Ten thousand years…' Yin Yu opened his eyes. He's now 10,000 years old. That means…
A smile appeared on Yin Yu's face. 'So it's like that.'
Yin Yu then said softly, "It's been many years and I've forgotten everything already. What's your name?"
"I'm Xia Lixue. You used to call me Xue'er."
"Hmm."
"Come. Let me take you to our home."
Then, Xia Lixue grabbed onto Yin Yu's hand and led the way. Yin Yu didn't struggle and just went along.
Not long passed when Yin Yu could finally spot light some distance away. When they got closer and closer to the light, it was as if they just came out of a dark cave. On the other side, it wasn't night anymore as the sun was already high up in the sky.
The sky was blue with fluffy soft clouds scattered, looking just like a painting. There was an ancient style house and behind the house was a tall cliff. There was even a waterfall not too far away. The grass was green while wildflowers were blooming everywhere.
Yin Yu then looked at Xia Lixue who was beside him. Since it wasn't dark anymore, he could see clearly what she looked like.
Xia Lixue had big round beautiful eyes. Her eyelashes were long and the colors of her eyes were silver, unlike ordinary people with brown eyes. Her skin was so pale yet her lips were red and attractive.
She was wearing a snow hanfu dress while her long black silky hair flowed down her perfect figure. Many could just fall for her appearance alone.
Xia Lixue smiled at Yin Yu sweetly and shyly. "Li Yin, let's go."
Still holding on Yin Yu's hand without letting him go, Xia Lixue led Yin Yu all the way to the house. When they got to the main room, Xia Lixue made Yin Yu sit on the ground by a large low window that was open.
As the chimes outside were chiming, Yin Yu glanced outside as he listened to the sound.
While Yin Yu was looking outside, Xia Lixue sat on Yin Yu's lap as she encircled her hands around Yin Yu's neck. She lowered her head to Yin Yu's neck and breathed in his scent.
"I...I want you right now." Xia Lixue then looked up at Yin Yu with misty eyes. "Can you give it to me?"
Yin Yu shifted his gaze to Xia Lixue. He smiled, "You want it?"
Xia Lixue shyly nodded.
Without warning, Yin Yu shoved Xia Lixue harshly away.
"Ah!"
Xia Lixue falls off of Yin Yu's lap and onto the ground. She looked at Yin Yu, shocked.
Yin Yu stood up from the ground and looked down on her. Then, he smiled at her attractively. Without saying anything, Yin Yu turned and left the room.
Xia Lixue clenched her hands into a fist on the ground until her nails pierced into her flesh. She looked at the direction where Yin Yu left as her eyes reddened. 'Why? Why would he treat me like this? This wasn't supposed to happen!'
Xia Lixue quickly got off of the ground and chased after Yin Yu who was now outside. "Li Yin!"
As Yin Yu turned around upon hearing Xia Lixue calling out the name that he doesn't even use, Xia Lixue jumped into Yin Yu's embrace and cried on his chest. "I don't know why you're so angry but please don't go! I waited so long for you. I-If you don't like doing intimate stuff with me now that you don't have your memories, we won't do those anymore. Okay?"
Yin Yu "lovingly" cupped her cheeks with one of his hands and made her look at him. "I'm not angry at you."
Xia Lixue with her eyes covered in tears looked pitiful as she looked at Yin Yu. "Really?"
Yin Yu nodded. "I can give it to you tonight. But…"
"But?"
Yin Yu finished his sentence. "Only if you give me that chime. The sounds were beautiful the moment I heard it. You can do that for me, right?"
Xia Lixue widened her eyes. 'There's no way! I couldn't detect any spiritual qi inside his body. He is just like a mortal who doesn't have any cultivation. No mortal can feel something amiss with the chime. Is it truly a coincidence?'
Xia Lixue tried to calm down as much as she could. She tried to use her most natural smile. "That chime isn't anything special. Why don't I create a new chime for you? The sounds will be more beautiful and clear."
