Chapter 21: Kiyotaka, Tiamat and... Shiro ?

"You want me to become your magic teacher?" The woman couldn't believe it, now she thought the boy had lost his brain while drinking tea.

"I would need your name too" Kiyotaka didn't care how she took it, a deal is a deal if she doesn't want to, never mind, it would be a loss for him but nothing more.

"No! I won't become your magic teacher!" The woman screamed her blue hair fluttering in the wind of the icy aura that was coming out of her body. She was pissed off at the way Kiyotaka was behaving with her ... She's a dragon, damn it!

"Alright then you won't be able to take revenge on the Red Dragon Emperor and your honor as Dragon 'King' will be forever marred." Kiyotaka clapped his hands then turned around to leave. The woman in front of him was a dragon, offering him to become his pet was not tolerable except if he was seeking death.

Kiyotaka's footsteps to leave the cave echoed strongly in the woman's heart, she didn't want to teach just anyone, she had great pride.

Watching Kiyotaka leave with his hands in his pockets as if all of this didn't concern him angered her, this youngster was going way too far and it made her furious.

"Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, my name is Tiamat and I am the most powerful of the Dragon King." Kiyotaka smiled when he heard Tiamat's voice tickling his ear. Turning around his smile faded back to a poker face.

"Nice to meet you, Tiamat the most powerful of the Dragon King" Kiyotaka gave the woman a little salute in respect.

"No more joking, I want to take you as my student but show me your abilities, otherwise I'm afraid it won't be possible," Tiamat said looking seriously at Kiyotaka who simply raised his arm. Then he whispered something that even she couldn't understand until a lot of light piling on top of each other appeared one by one behind the boy.

The dragon opened her eyes wide as her breathing quickened, but she quickly calmed down again, her composure taking over her emotions.

"Alright, I would say you practiced for a few years, and for your age, it's remarkable" Tiamat congratulated Kiyotaka on his practice of magic. What he had done was worthy of a miracle of magic, stacking several magic circles on top of each other was something extremely complicated if not even impossible unless you had near-perfect control over the very construction of a magic circle.

'A few years?' Kiyotaka just shakes his head, he didn't want to hurt the childish-looking woman in front of him. Telling her that he had mastered magic within a few days would be like giving the mightiest Dragon King a heart attack.

"Why are you shaking your head? You are very good" Said Tiamat she now thought Kiyotaka was worried about not being fast enough in magic.

"Tiamat-sensei, I would like to start by learning the basics of dragon magic," Kiyotaka said respectfully taking the role of teacher-student to heart. Kiyotaka knew that Tiamat was kind by nature despite being a dragon.

"Alright, I think you can learn our magic from the little piece that propelled me earlier," Said Tiamat remembering the fact that she was propelled by a small chess piece of nothing at all, which basically made her really uncomfortable.

But quickly the woman's eyes become narrowed and sly before sketching a cruel smile and saying "The training is going to be really hard, little boy, you might even inadvertently die ... oops, I hope you aren't afraid? "

Kiyotaka looked at the playful woman but of course, he didn't back down, instead he even walked up to the dragon's ear before whispering to her "I've been through a lot worse"

Time passed quickly in the cave, Kiyotaka could be seen shirtless punching a rock heavily and exploding it with his bare hands as a baby dragon stared at him from the side. A few days had already passed in the cave since he had met Tiamat.

Kiyotaka was much closer to the cold and distant woman from the start and with that progress followed. Dragon magic was extremely difficult but something had really intrigued Kiyotaka and that was the fact that dragon portals exist and can only summon dragons. Tiamat had shown him how to do this by summoning a low-level dragon in the cave.

In the end, Kiyotaka had succeeded in summoning a dragon by creating a dragon-summoning portal and what came out of the portal was a small black and white female dragon with blue eyes. Finally, Kiyotaka had decided to keep her naming her Shiro.

"Shiro, are you coming to eat?" the female voice of a mature woman echoed through the cave as a small black and white dragon stopped looking at Kiyotaka who was practicing, spinning at full speed in a specific direction.

The sound of the wind knocked against the cave walls, crashing into a thud.

Kiyotaka meanwhile, was hitting the air with his palm containing incredible power, he didn't even realize that a soft hand was resting on his bare shoulder because he was so focused.

"Kiyotaka, you are already well advanced in dragon magic, why are you training physically?" I bet in magic that you are the most powerful person if you continue on this path… Why take more than one? Tiamat asks Kiyotaka who eventually stops hitting the air. She had become attached to him in one way or another.

She had also discovered that Kiyotaka was incredibly attentive and intelligent and his potential was great but something was bothering him ... and she didn't know what.

"The one who only concentrates in one category is a simple person ... me, I'm a crazy person" Leaving Tiamat to reflect on his words, Kiyotaka put his white shirt and jacket back on his back before looking at the woman in the eyes.

"Why do I feel like you are alone in your heart Kiyotaka?" Tiamat asked with keen eyes waiting for the young boy's response.

Kiyotaka doesn't answer, instead he calls out to Shiro hugging her before answering.

"Well, Tiamat, I don't have the answer to your question," Kiyotaka said before smiling slightly at the woman.

"And you why stay so long in this place all alone?" Shiro fell asleep in Kiyotaka's arms while the two chatted.

"I was… I was scared" Tiamat approached Kiyotaka before looking at the ground. She was the "queen" of the dragon kings who were afraid… just thinking about it, Tiamat was ashamed to look Kiyotaka in the eye.

Kiyotaka slapped the girl on the forehead. Since he knew her, Kiyotaka no longer saw her as a woman but as a girl who just needed attention.

Tiamat looked up at Kiyotaka in anger ready to retaliate but she didn't have time to do so before the boy grabbed her by the arm and hugged her and Shiro.

"It's time to return Tiamat and you come with me," Kiyotaka said not releasing his strength on the girl who let it go. In fact, for the first time she was stunned, she had absolutely no strength to impose herself on Kiyotaka, she just wanted to follow him.

A magical circle below Kiyotaka, Shiro, and Tiamat illuminated the group as they disappeared from the previously cold cave that had grown much warmer from Kiyotaka's presence. That's what Tiamat thinks deep in her dragon heart.

But what Tiamat didn't see was the hint of sadness in Kiyotaka's eyes as he looked at her before they disappeared from the cave.
