It is almost December and it is really cold on Embra's Island 'Rain'. Right now, we are drinking afternoon tea with Embra at the terrace of the palace, Sumperium. The name literally translated to 'Highest Command' and the name is something I heard just a few months ago on my Job. Yep, I am now working as an advisor in Embra's personal arm force.
There is nothing much for me to do really because my position as an 'advisor' restrict me not to advise directly. So, all I have to do is to let them watch me and learn. If there is something I see wrong, I would show them in action while saying them to learn from it and one advantage I have is that I can choose not to answer questions. So, the job is not bad for me.
Embra set the rule that I will get a salary of 50 thousand credit a month as long as I follow three things. The first rule is for me to follow the obligation, which means advising 'indirectly'. The second rule is not to slack off in working hours and the last rule being I have to work for 30 hours a week. So, it is not bad for me. Not at all.
And, Lady Keinnayi is now an advisor for the malls which Embra built one in each of his islands. The same three rule apply for Lady Keinnayi and in her case, she can choose whether to work from the palace or work directly at the mall. There was a room called stimulator which Embra gave us since we arrived here. And, Lady Keinnayi can do her job from that room where we can utilize the holographic technology, Māyā which literally translated to illusion, to its fullest potential. Actually, I might have liked the old name but, well.
Embra also prepared two new cars for us to go to work but, we rarely go separately. Usually, I would go to Lady Keinnayi's workplace in her car while waiting for her outside or work together with her. The same also applies when I am working too. Lady Keinnayi's would come together with me on my car and sometimes she would encourage or teach the soldiers who are feeling down or jealous of my superior combat abilities. *sigh* I wish I could just tell them not to compare with being immortal like me to the likes of them but..
Anyway, it has been three months since Lady Keinnayi and I started to work and so far everything is good. The life on the island is good too. There are many facilities here and in case we get bored, we can visit other islands too. There is an island for tamed animals, an island just for sightseeing and driving and lastly, there is an island just for entertainment.
Actually, we haven't been to every facilities and establishment on all the four islands yet but, well, it was quite fun living here. Today, Embra invited us to the afternoon tea party and now here we are talking and laughing while talking about the past experience on the islands. At first, I didn't like getting teased by Lady Keinnayi and Embra but, now, I am starting to change.
It was foreign to me at first but, I begin to regard Embra as a brother. In terms of age, I am far, far older than him by four-digits but, strangely, I feel that kinds of feelings for him that it warms my heart. I once told Lady Keinnayi of my feelings for Embra and how I take him as an older brother of mine which never existed. Her response takes me aback.
She fully supports me. Lady Keinnayi not only supports my feelings regarding Embra as an older brother but also encourage me to call him as a 'brother' when we three are alone. NO way. Definitely not happening. Yep.
I can't help that Lady Keinnayi feels down at my immediate denial but, I would rather die than call Embra 'brother' from my own mouth. Hmph.
Nonetheless, I no longer feel like a stranger towards him anymore. He is a kind, reliable older brother at times and an annoying, strict older brother, that makes me want to slap him, at times. Well, even a coin has two sides. So, it is no wonder. Yep.
Anyway, it seems we are going back to Tokyo before the new year and it makes Lady Keinnayi happy to the extent that she tells Embra to go there right now. Embra and I have to make an effort to persuade Lady Keinnayi, to hold back her horses. Two weeks later after Embra finished his works of managing and giving out vacations to his subordinates, we departed to Tokyo at night. It is one week before the new year and there is already a festival atmosphere in the airport with Christmas decorations and text of welcoming new years.
Embra's apartment has changed. Not outwardly though. Outward design is the same as we left. What changed is the interior. The whole three floors have been changed to penthouse and there is so much space in here. Will there be other people who live here? Embra denied it and just say casually that he made this penthouse like this so we will not bore ourselves living here by doing housework.
There should be a limit to household chores for just three people, idiot. Look at this penthouse that can accommodate ten people easily, there is even a pool in here. This guy..
Of course, we complained to Embra but, he stops us just after a minute and said that there is more. He said that there will be no servants or services for us and that we have to cook our own meal, wash our own clothes and clean the rooms ourselves. And, there is no car for us, too. *Snap* Moreover, this guy just casually and matter-of-factly stated that we should also do his chores and clean his bedroom too.
*snap* *snap* *snap* (I and Lady Keinnayi)
That night I and Lady Keinnayi complain to him and reprimand him till we get hungry from getting too worked up and angry. Ugh, This guy. Please tell me we are going back to the island soon. Please.
It was only for a night but, when we get up the morning, I and Lady Keinnayi's moods are not good. Maybe Embra perceived that because he tells us that we can buy anything we want today to decorate this penthouse. Oho. Really? Vigour returns to our eyes and we regain new strength for today. Of course needless to say that we did not hold back in shopping for decorating the house for Christmas.
There are other people living under us and it seems they are all families of Embra's trusted subordinates. So, we passed Christmas night by inviting all the families to our penthouse for dinner while getting to know each other.
Christmas soon passed and it is new year night now. Currently, we are waiting for the gorgeous fireworks on a luxury cruise, which is sailing around the Tokyo Bay with exclusive buffet-style dinner and music by a marching band. There are many people here, all from rich families. And, it seems they are also here for the new year countdown event.
Soon, the ten-second countdown started and when it reaches zero, everyone on the cruise ship shout out new years. For today event, there is no alcohol because the owner of the cruise ship, which I am undoubtedly sure is Embra, notify before the departure that he wants to celebrate the new year event on his cruise ship without barrages and wishes for the best of health for everyone in the new year 2021.
Guest here is all those who have no problem with Embra's announcement and have the same desires as him. So, it was nice socializing with them. But, should I say as expected of human desire, everybody headed to the parties, bar or clubs where they will celebrate with alcohol as soon as the cruise ship arrived at the port.
Well, we also want to have a little small party ourselves, too. With booze of course. So, we headed to the party that Embra organized at one of the highest building in Tokyo. A party where only girls are allowed to attend with the only exception being him, the host. *sigh* All the girls and women here are wither actress or models or someone who is from the entertainment industry.
But, surprisingly, they are nice to us. They don't excessively try to seduce him or there is no one who is rude because of alcohol. The party was surprisingly comfortable for us and we gain new connections in Tokyo.
The new year festival and celebrations end quickly and before I realized it, it is already the same date as we come to this mortal world, 15 January. This mark a whole year of us being in this mortal world.
Changes. There are too many changes to us that we begin to think that it would not bad living here. With someone who will help do house chores, of course. Really, it is impossible for the two of us. And, that guy is on a trip too. Well, he is mostly on a trip though. Anyway, freshen up, Sethar. It is a new year. Let's try hard this year, too.
