Chapter 1: Dodge ball
7:25am
UA High
Another morning at UA High, Bakugou being aggressive and the other students testing his limits. It being autumn the leaves outside were a range of colors from red to brown, and the cold breeze began coming in getting ready for winter.
The classes mummy of a teacher came in with his yellow sleeping bag looking tired as ever. He plopped down on his desk and Iida quieted the class down. "Today we'll be having and exchange student." Mr. Aizawa slurred the words out of his mouth his eyes dropping shut but then opening again. He glared at the class. "No funny business." He warns.
Ten minutes after the lesson started The was knocking on the door. Without waiting for a response the visitor opened the door. One cop came in and stood in front of the class looking profesional. Then another one came in with a girl in cuffs. Her h/c hair was loose and short. She was wearing a white baggy t-shirt and baggy light blue ripped jeans with holes bigger than her foot. She had a black sweater wrapped around her waist and black and white Vans, her hands held behind her by one of the cops and handcuffs. The entire class looked at her weirdly as she was wearing American brands and the fact that she was brought in by cops. She looked at the class with her e/c eyes looking bored and uninterested.
"Officer." Mr. Aizawa says looking at the officers sternly. The one that came in first cleared his throat and began speaking. "I'm officer Chi, if you have any problems with her please contact the department." He says and steps to the door leaving the officer with the girl to speak. "Her names-" I think I can speak for my self dumbass." She stops him glaring at his direction. "Oh and I think you'll need these." She says holding up the handcuffs that were supposed to be holding her wrists together. The officer scoffs but grabs them from her hands.
She looks at the entire class observing their body language. She knew most of them from the tv but wanted to see how different they were. She puts her hands in her front pockets. Her eyes landed on ruby ones and looked him up and down before looking at the rest of the class. "My names Y/N L/N. I came from America. I'll be joining your class from now on. I see most of your are compatible to me and I don't want to be wrong. What's your name." She states more than asks to Mr. Aizawa. "Mr. Aizawa. I hope not to have any problems with you this year." He says warningly. She gives him a smirk. "But where's the fun in that?" She cocks an eyebrow at him and he glares.
"Ok we'll be leaving then. Have a good day sir." The officers said and left. "So where am I sitting or will I be standing." She teases but he points at an empty seat next to a dual haired boy. She gives him a half nod and starts walking to where it was said to be seated.
"By tomorrow you will be expected to be in uniform and have a bag. You will also be provided a hero suit. Now we will continue with class."
11:45am
UA High Cafeteria
Y/N's pov
I grabbed an apple and a water from the cafeteria and went to head out. "YO NEW GIRL!"
I roll my eyes and turn around. The Rocky red head was in front of me. I raised and eyebrow at him. "I gotta name ya know." I take a bit of my apple. "I know but I like new girl better." He says flashing a smile. I felt the corner of my lip tug up slightly. "What do you want?" He points to a seat in his table. "Wanna sit with us? Most other tables are full." He says hopefully.
I shake my head no. "Sorry maybe next time." I turn around and successfully make it to the door this time.
I go to the library and grab all the books that they had already learned about in part of the school year that I wasn't here. I checked them out and went to sit on a bench in the yard. I slammed all the books down on the table and sat down. My headphones connected to my phone and music began playing. '11 pm' by Maluma started blasting through my headphones and I opened the first book. Using my quirk I made a copy of each and was able to write on them now.
Lunch bell rang and I was halfway done with the first book. I carried both the copies and the originals back to the library checking in the ones I borrowed. I put my headphones down to my neck. "Excuse me can I have a bag?" I ask politely. The librarian looks at me. "Yes here you go." She hands me the bag and I bow slightly, thanking her.
I put my headphones back on and walked down the hallway. Students crowded me a little too much but it wasn't like I didn't expect it. The amount of auras I got off people bothered me. Some people were nervous and excited for no reason others were simply happy. My mind went to Todoroki. When I say next to him I felt sick. There was so much sadness and anger going through him I felt nauseous and got headaches. But I couldn't pinpoint what it was that made him feel this way. Then Mineta was simply disturbing. Bakugou has sincere anger going through him, but I didn't feel it directed at anyone other than maybe Medoriya.
I get anxious and happy but it wasn't from me. The feeling was getting stronger when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turn to my side and see Medoriya. "Oh hey broccoli." I take one of the ear peaches away from my ear. "A-Ah hi Y/N-chan. I was wondering if you'd like to be f-friends." He says giving me a smile. "It wouldn't bother me." I look to see we were nearing the classroom. "Great! Well s-see you!" He exclaims before running off. "What a weird kid." I mumble. "You can say that again..." someone from beside me grumbles. The second Medoriya was out of sight his aura left and I felt Bakugous. I turn to see him.
I smirk at the comment in my head before actually saying it. "If it isn't the famous hot head." He growls looking at me. "SHUT THE HELL UP EXTRA!!!" He yells grabbing a hold of my collar and dragging it up to his height. I was only about two inches shorter than him so it didn't do much just get rid of personal boundaries. "And why should I...hot head." I tease a smirk rising on my lips. His aura grows and his face reddens from anger.
He sends his elbow back to throw a punch at my face but I dodge it moving to the side and he punches the hard wall. A hole is burnt through it and the heat from his hands is so intense I heard the sizzling from the wall behind me. I give him a small smile. I put my hands on his removing it from my shirt. "See you later Bakugou. Nice meeting you." I walk away slipping into the class. As I enter to my right was a hole in the wall where I'm guessing Bakugou had hit. I smirk at the sight and stand to the side. The bell rings and everyone steps in the last person being All Might.
He takes one look around the class, his eyes landing on me and he sighs. "Good afternoon Anika." He says exhaustedly. I give him a tight smile leaning on the wall. "After noon old man." All the heads the time me in shock. "Hey that's not nice!" The exclaim and I roll my eyes. "Nor is anything he's done for me." I fix my glare on him.
He clears his throat. "Today we'll be playing dodge ball. Your quirks are allowed but only to the ball. If you effect the ball with your quirk your out." He says and everyone yells in excitement. They fix the balls in the center line of the court and All might calls teams.
On the opposite team was Bakugou, Kirishima, Kaminari, Jirou, Tokoyami, Sero, Ashido, Aoyama, Ojiro, and Mineta. I was with the other half of the class. There were only two people that weren't feeling anxious other than me, Bakugou, and Todoroki. They seemed totally calm.
"Ready, set," All might paused then blew his whistle. Everyone ran for the balls in the center lane except for me and Todoroki. He iced the entire teams floor and everyone slipped. Giving our team time to strike. Immediately Mineta, Aoyama, and Ojiro got out. The others only missed by a hair. Those who survived grabbed a ball and began throwing at us. I caught two and tossed one to Todoroki, he nodded and we threw them both of us hitting a target, getting Sero and Jirou out. We lost Iida, Tsuyu, and Rikidou. We stroked again, Ashido and Kamimari getting out.
After a few more hits we lost a lot of people leaving only Medoriya, Todoroki, and I. The other team only consisted of Kirishima and Bakugou.
Kirishima threw swerve ball getting Medoriya out and Bakugou hit Todoroki who slipped on his own ice. I chuckled at him and grabbed his wrist assisting him up. He stood up and in an instinct I stuck my hand out to the side and caught a ball in my hand. I look to see Kirishima groaning and walking off the court. I pat Todorokis back and he walks away limping to the side. I was slightly concerned because it was only a small fall.
My attention was put back to the game when a ball flew right by where my head was. I look at Bakugou a smirk on my face. "Oh hot head still mad?" I coo and I felt his aura intensify from my side of the court. "SHUT UP EXTRA!!!" He yells and throws another ball, it misses again. "Is that all you know what to say? Ahhh I expected more from the great Bakugou Katsuki. Disappointed." My lips form a line as I looked at him, my feet making me slowly mirror Bakugous.
"Don't look down on me!" He yells and throws another ball. It misses again the sound of rubber bouncing on the floor right besides me. "It won't matter anyways. I could've beat you." His jaw ticks and he gets another ball. "Guess all you'll ever be is a hot headed-" SHUT UP!!!" He yells throwing another ball. But he was smart and put explosions surrounding me, not allowing me to move side to side. He threw the ball and a huge thwack surrounds the court. It honestly would've sounded like I got hit if it weren't for the squeaking of my shoes scraping against the floor from the impact. I step out from the smoke looking at Bakugou.
"Looks like your out." I smirk at him and roll the ball from my hands to where his feet were. He threw it so hard you could see where my hands were on the ball. There were cheers from where the students sat. They dog piled on me and I fell to the floor with an oof. The round lasted a long time and All might told them to sit down again.
He clears his throat. "Y/N used a smart tactic during the game. She used your emotions to blind you, make you vulnerable. That's something you can use in battle but you have to be careful because your enemy can use it too. Learn to control." All might says directing it mostly to Bakugou and I. We roll our eyes at him. "That will be all for now, wait for the bell to ring then you'll be dismissed." He says and everyone agrees and begins talking. I lean against the wall and put my headphones in again. 'Corazón' by Maluma played softly on my ears until I heard my name.
"Y/N what kind of quirk do you have?!" Medoriya exclaims from one the other side of the room from me, causing everyone to perk up. I sigh While I stay seated in the center of the court where we played, a huge purple and blue fire rises. Then it turns into bright blue and green water. Then a gust of wind blew through the room. The wind ended at the center of the room once more and it merged into a mount of soil. From the soil a flower slowly rose from it blooming into a tulip. "You have four quirks?!" Medoriya exclaims running to stand next to me. "They all make one. Those are the four elements that make up existence. Fire, water, air, and earth. With these four I can make anything I want." A fire burns above my hand and it turns into a lolipop, falling into my palm. I remove the wrapper and stick the f/f lolipop into my mouth looking at Medoriya.
"It comes in handy." I say giving him a small smile. Everyone came running to me asking questions. Using the wind I pushed all of them away from me and they huffed sitting down on the floor where I left them. "Can we ask questions from here?" They whine. And hesitantly nod. They bombard me with questions till the end of the period.
When the bell rings I take in a breath of relief and go o the door. I put my headphones back in and go to my next class. The day continued with greetings and glares from Bakugou. Through it though I became closer with Todoroki. I was determined to find out what bugged him so much.
