Prologue

My name is Zadkiel, the guardian of slavery. All of the angels are guardians of something. The person otherwise known as God was about to announce something that I cared about more than anything. I'm one of the first non-binary angels. I couldn't hear anything with so many people crowded against the stage. All the angels from every sector was here. I struggled to get to the front of the crowd. Absolutely no one could hear what the man was saying. As I struggled to get to the front, one of the people from my department asked me, "What are you doing, Zadkiel?"
"No one can hear anything. There are way too many angels here for him to just be yelling all this," I replied, hoping he wouldn't try to make conversation.
"Ok, I'll tell Domiel where you are if I see them."
"Thank you... thank you," I said, smiling. I kept pushing through the crowd and when I finally got up there, I yelled, "Hey, get over here!"
The big man, which is God's nickname, turned around and walked over to me, "What is it, Zadkiel?"
"You really don't know? No one can hear you."
Coretha walked up to us, "Ha, he's being a pretty chaotic dumb right now. And... I forgot to plug in the microphone."
"Well, you're gonna have to start over. No one heard you," I said, leaning on to the stage.
"Ok," the big man said, then turning to Coretha, "Plug it in, Coretha. The crowd must know the words that I speak."
She rolled her eyes, walking to the speaker, "Stop trying to be poetic. It doesn't suit you."
"Ugh, fine. Oh... it's working now," he replied, squinting from the loud noise. Then he took the microphone away from his face, "Should I call for Domiel?" he asked, laughing, "That would be so embarrassing for them, "Domiel, please report to the stage, your... Zadkiel is up here." I rolled my eyes, looking down at the ground.
"Just make the speech already. If you hadn't noticed, this is kind of personal!" I said sternly, not taking my eyes off the ground.
"Ok, ok. Domiel, hurry up. Anyway, you're probably wondering why all of the sections in all of the sectors are here... It's because this isn't something that should be said over the intercom. Sorry intercom dude, I know you would've wanted to say this."
"It's fine!" someone in the crowd yelled.
"Ok... and, I should probably just say this... oh, Domiel is here now. Aww, it's Leah, too! I was stalling for you."
"Just go ahead and say it!" Domiel yelled, handing Leah over to me and putting their arm around my shoulders.
"I'd like to officially declare that we're LGBTQ+ supportive in heaven and Earth... I'm not sure about heck, though... And, for all of you homophobic numbnuts, there's nowhere in heaven or Earth where it is illegal to be homosexual, and that law shall be upheld to the best of our abilities. Anyway, we're not transphobic or biphobic either. None of the LGBTQ phobias, ok? Take Domiel and Zadkiel... they don't have genders, but you can kind of tell they're both boys, to be honest. But don't tell them I said that. I get that they're here right now, but still... don't tell them. They're my best friends and I completely support their genderless lives and vibes." He grinned really wide, "Any questions?"
He pointed at someone in the crowd and the girl asked, "What does this mean for angels being born? Will they not have any genders?"
"No, angels from now on will have genders. It helps them connect to humans better. Wow, so many hands."
"Ya, what about new angels? Will humans from Earth still come to Heaven to be Angels?" I looked down at Leah and thought, 'I really hope so.' I wonder how she's going to grow up. I hope she changes the world. The world could really use some help.
