Chapter 28: Crossing the Aurora
Haotian looked at his surroundings, at the precious herb and heavenly environment "I know that all these plants should cost a fortune, being heavenly treasures, but..." He sighed "It's truly a pity that I don't know anything at all from them as unlike another certain reincarnation, I don't have the absolute knowledge of plants that seemingly are the same of his last life."
"Trying to take one would make more bad than good as I won't be able to conserve them, even killing them and they might be able to even affect me negatively if I'm not careful enough."
Haotian walked a little around, but couldn't recognize anything. Most of his knowledge of the world came from the time he spent over the Tè Clan and due to the low time that he was there as an heir, his learning was very limited, focused mostly on spirits as it was the Tè clan most sought dream.
"The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well" unconsciously his little walking had brought him towards the core of the medical garden. Somehow it seemed that his own feet had guided him here.
Haotian stopped still 10 meters before the well. He could already feel the scorching yang energy burning half of his body while the icy yin froze the other half "My mind is saying that this dangerous but somehow my instinct is calling me towards it, having that sensation to jump over."
"Tang San survived and acquired a stronger body resistant to ice and fire thanks to his own technique and previous eating two heavenly plant related with fire and ice." Haotian said thoughtful "Would my stronger body and spirit made up for it?"
He stayed some time there contemplating the well, the call seemingly becoming stronger. He seemed to be captivated, his eyes started blurring and slowly turned into seemingly reptile slices as he unconsciously made a step forward.
"No!" He shook his head, his eyes returning to normal "It's extremely dangerous, especially now. Even if I survive, I might be weakened by the side effects, needing some time to rest. I don't have such a time when Dugu Bo can return at any moment, I need to escape for now." He finally decided.
Haotian stepped back and turned to the exit, giving one last longing look to the well. He went through the cave from where he entered and easily exited the garden.
Taking a step outside, Haotian was able to see Dugu Bo's defenses. A mysterious multicolored aurora surrounded all the garden formed by a powerful formation. Without even needing to inspect it, it was clear that it was extremely poisonous, one slight contact with it being able to cause death that could be observed by some beasts' skeleton that laid around, having dared to try to cross it.
Haotian activated his spirit, his first and third rings shining as he summoned his Seven Kill Sword surrounded by wind.
Haotian swung his sword "Wind Fissure!" A powerful wind blast shot from the sword, cutting over the poisonous aurora.
"The poisonous mist is too thick to disperse, being able to repair itself immediately" Haotian said analyzing the process as the mist returned to its previous state almost immediately.
Haotian withdrew his sword "This might be strong enough to fend over the strongest beasts of the forest, but for me, it should be nothing." Haotian closed his eyes and started meditating, preparing his body to cross over the aurora, closing his body's pores avoiding any substance from entering his body.
With Haotian's control, he would be able to easily last 1 hour without breathing, so passing through the aurora shouldn't be much of a problem, isolating his body from outside interference.
He stepped forward as his second ring started shining "Griiiiii!" The powerful phoenix cried, blue flames exploded all over Haotian's body, covering him into a mantle of flames.
Most of the poison should only be able to affect internally but Haotian didn't know if their would be some type or acid or corrosive substance in them. If it were that case, even if it was in low quantity, his skin could be burned, making it possible for openings to be created for the other kind of poison. So he used his Yin Flames as an armor.
Haotian stepped forward, letting himself be completely swallowed by the mist.
"Crr!" Crieks could be heard due to the reaction of the flames with the poison but Haotian stepped forward calmly, without losing his concentration. The most liquid poison would be burned or stopped by his flames while the more gasous ones would be unable to enter his entered.
After 3 minutes, he finally broke through the aurora. Seeing himself finally free from the place, he withdraw his flames and breathed profundly.
"It seems that Dugu Bo is too confident in his own poison, being very carelessly in preventing scapes" Haotian grinned not sensing Dugu Bo at all.
The truth was that the poison over the aurora was incredible potent and could even disorient Haotian's nose, making him unable to sense over it. If Dugu Bo would have been waiting for him just outside his poisonous formation, he would have been caught and that mean giving up his life as after lying his way before the same would rarely work again.
"GRRRRRRRR!" A loud growl was heard and Haotian turned to it to see three lion types beasts. The ones at the side weren't anything special, some recent 1.000 years old that were not much different from normal lions, with yellow fur and strong complexion. The problem was the one at the middle, dark in color with a menacing aura around it, all of it joined with the majestic air of a king.
"It should be around 9.000 years old, close to breaking throught rank 10.000" Haotian deducted by its size and aura.
Haotian used his third spirit skill "GRRRRRRR" A giant Golden Roc appearing over him as big golden wings made out of winds appeared over his back, causing the lion trio to falter for an instant for his intimidating aura.
"You might been a good fight but sorry I have other things to do." Haotian flapped his wings, flying upwards. He took advantage of the instant that the beast faltered, completely avoiding a fight and escaped away to the sky, leaving their range of attack at an incredible speed.
Two 1.000 years old and a 9.000 years old beasts. I shouldn't be an impossible fight for Haotian, him having the certaintanty to win over them thanks to his overwhelming spirits. However, it would only be a waste of his time and it would attrack the attention of near spirit beasts. If he was to be surrounded, it could be dangerous.
"Thanks god, Xiangxiang became my third spirit ring" Haotian sighed in relieve seeing the beasts congragating under his feet.
Like Dugu Bo explained, there's three reasons that prevented someone weak to escape from his medical garden.
The first was the powerful poison surrounding it, Haotian using his spirit control to pass through it.
The second was the powerful beasts all over the forest, being mostly avoided thanks to his Golden Roc and its capability to fly at incredibly high speed.
Lastly, the third was the labyrinth like structure of the forest, being very difficult to leave without knowing the place. This one couldn't be simpler for Haotian, flying let him get a higher view, making it easier to horientate, moreover, he also had his link with his girls.
Haotian focused on his strongest and easiest link with Meijing and clearly knew in what direction she was and at the same time were the academy was.
"I'll need to quickly return to the academy before Dugu Bo learns of my escape" Haotian had already thought of his next move. He had instantly decided to return to the academy while avoiding Dugu Bo, take Meijing, Biyun and Chenxiang and leave the academy, hiding far away from the time being.
Haotian didn't know what would the future hold for him, but it was clear that he couldn't remain at the academy. While the academy's principals were strong and had the support of the Heaven Dou Imperial family, Haotian knew that they wouldn't fight a titled douluo like Dugu Bo for him. And it was sure that Dugu Bo would try to kill him with everything that he has, wanting to take revenge for lying to him and wanting to silence Haotian that knew about his medical garden.
Even if he would need to completely change his plans and choose different girls for his next spirit rings, he needed to leave it all behind. The most important now was to protect his girls, escaping with them as they would become Dugu Bo's targets after him. For Haotian's himself, he wasn't much worried being attack by Dugu Bo. With his stench of poison, Haotian would be able to detect him over kilometers, permitting to easily escape with his speed before he reached him.
Haotian turned one last time over the Ice and Fire Yang Yin Well. From the sky, it seemed a incoscopious little hill difficult to spot, nobody would tell that such a treasure were inside it.
"Even if I'm unable to take advantage of it now. I'll plunder it in the future when the things had gone colder" Haotian quickly memorized the place, preparing to possibly return at a later date.
Then, he flapped his wings, shooting at high speed towards Meijing's location, straight to Heaven Dou Imperial Academy.
