Chapter 2: Day 150: Carmon Salzar's visit
I sat in the mess hall with the gang of immunes. We consisted of 6 people. Me and Mitchel, a boy named Maxwell and three other girls names Kaycee, Emma and Alex. Alex and Emma's matches were both drugged and sat at a different table. Nobody noticed as, all too focused on their food, the androids were still as statues at the kitchen area. Kaycee and Max were paired but Kaycee and Emma were together. Max and Mitchel didn't mind that we didn't want to have sex, I mean Mitch and I have done it, but I felt no attraction and I couldn't bring myself to orgasm.
If anyone knew, anyone that wasn't drugged, we'd be separated into different camps. A few of the adults survived the plague and now worked for Carmon Salzar, make sure we all did as told and bred. Good thing Carmon Salzar would never come to camp 305, we weren't important enough. Or so I thought.
After breakfast, Emma and Alex went off with there matches as we crowded into the great hall. The screen flickered to life and the face of Carmon appeared. "Hello, children of the 305th breeding camp!" He said in his usual peppy voice. "I have decided to grace you with my presents!" my heart stopped but I made no movement. "I will stay with one of your wonderful couples! im sorry to say that you won't be able to have any fun if you know what I mean but hey! im sure you'll make it!"
The screen flicked off and I almost fainted but Max, who stood behind me, caught me in his arms. "Whoa, Ann you okay?" Asked Mitch. "Y-ya" I stuttered standing up straight. What the fuck, what the actual fuck? Carmon was coming, here? Here? why? why did he need to come and pester camp 305! I felt like I was going to throw up and but held it down.
We made our way to the fenced-off area meant for 'play' it was just a bare patch of grass where the couples mingled, in the back was a mangled piece of fence where we could escape, fact we'd been planing too but we weren't ready yet. there was exercise equipment that most of the men used and some of the women. Me and my friends, however, used it every time we got.
It was agreed upon that Alex, me and Kaycee would work on running, we were smaller than the others so speed was our strong suit. So we started running at the 10-meter racing strips, bouncing on the line before running across again. Max worked on weights while Mitch studded a textbook while sitting over in the corner. Emma was climbing the fence until she got to the top before jumping down.
Soon I stopped running and looked at the fence. "When he gets here, he's gonna fix it, I think we need to move, tonight," I said. "Ann's right" agreed Alex. Max put down his wights and sat up, his shirt clinging to him from sweat, it defined every muscle and abb in his upper body, I knew he was gonna be strong. "Wish we could steal some of this stuff, or at least have a map of the out there," he said softly. "Well, we don't so, oh well" Emma shrugged.
We all nodded and went back to our things. It didn't take long for the shiny black bug-shaped car to pull up. Everyone stopped and paired up before going mingling with the others. Carmon was tall and wrinkly, he looked a lot older than 40. Her bright amber eyes wandered over all of us lingering on me, I wondered why for a moment until I realized, we both had amber eyes, a similarity, I wanted to puke, or scoop my eyes out for it. We locked eyes and I dumbly waved. He waved back before running the same hand through his greying hair.
I turned away my hands shaking slightly as I walked away with Mitch. I looked down at my light skin tone, so happy for it because at least it was somewhat darker than the snow-white stuff he had. Running my fingers through my black locks I was happy that I only had one similarity. I couldn't bere the thought of being similair to the man who took away my sister...
