Chapter 2: Chapter Two
After five minutes she finished bathing, brushing her teeth, and getting dressed. She opted to wear a white shirt and black shorts.
"Wow! That was record-breaking." she thought.
Even if she wanted to do make-up, she couldn't do it because she was startled by a series of knocks on her front door.
"Kirsten!"
"I'm coming!" she hurried to the door while combing her hair.
"What took you so long?" Gero asked with a bit of irritation on his voice.
"I'm sorry." she apologized.
"You have a nice place," he commented while looking at his apartment. Then he approached the door leading to the terrace.
"Thank you. By the way, when did you arrive?" She asked.
Because he turned his back on her, she was able to observe him carefully. Maybe he's still playing basketball or he works out because he a nice body. Not too much muscle, just right.
"Does he have abs?" She giggled at the thought.
She lowered her eyes and then swallowed by what he noticed with Gero.
"What a sexy butt he has." in her thought.
When she looked at him again, he was now looking at her.
"Are you okay?" he asked curiously.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine," she answered with a smile. Trying her best for him not to notice that she is blushing.
"When did you arrive?" She asked him again.
"Last week, I am currently staying at the Fairmont Hotel."
"What?!" She was surprised that he arrived a week ago. "How come I was not informed?" There was an accusative melody in her voice.
"Actually, Uncle Kevin knew that I was coming. Caleb was the one who picked me up at the airport." as he continued to search her apartment.
"Oh really!" She was so disappointed with what she heard. "What are you doing here then? If you and Caleb have met, you must know that he is in Laguna right now." While raising an eyebrow.
"I know he's in Laguna but he's coming here now. So I'll just wait for him here." He sat on the sofa and placed both feet on the center table.
She wanted to push him out of the apartment. She did not know how she would feel. Be happy because after ten years she and Gero met again or sulked because she was not even informed. She wanted to get angry as well because he doesn't seem like he even misses her after all those years.
"Suit yourself, I'll just leave you the key. I need to go somewhere today." And then walked to the bedroom to tidy up.
"Wait?" He chased her after and hold her arm. "We just met after ten years and then you will leave me here?"
"Right, Gero ten years!" She emphasized how long they had not seen each other. "And you arrived last week yet none of you informed me!"
"Alright, I'm sorry." Simultaneously raised with both hands. "At that time you were so busy complying your requirements to be able to enroll in DMU. I also bonded for a few days with my friends and then with Caleb because your older brother will be returning to Laguna," he explained.
"Just wait for Caleb, I have to go." she would have turned around when he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her back.
"Hey..." in a soft voice. His two hands are now on her waist.
"Don't you miss me?" he asked her tenderly.
She stared at him.
"Are you making fun of me?" she asked him angrily.
He just laughed at her but he still wouldn't let her go.
She watched him as he laughed.
Oh God, after ten years he becomes more handsome. Although Gero is half german half Filipino, his masculinity prevailed.
From his eyes, his nose, she is now looking at his lips.
How many women has he kissed in Germany? Even if she wants to be jealous, she has no right. She was depressed at the thought and looked down as if she wanted to cry.
He stopped laughing.
"I missed you," Gero whispered to her almost, just enough for her to hear.
She looked at him again, she saw sadness and longing in his eyes. He was smiling but it did not reach his eyes.
The tears that had been held back earlier were completely shed, she hugged him tightly.
"I missed you so much. You have no idea how I look forward to this day," she said while crying.
"I know, and I'm sorry baby. We just don't want to distract you because you were still taking the entrance exam at DMU." He explained while caressing her back to make her feel better. "Did you know that I was really shocked by the way you looked a while ago? I thought I went to a mental hospital," he said while laughing.
"So, I looked like a crazy person a while go huh?" And she slaps his chest. He was still laughing while holding her.
"Yes, a sexy crazy person." he wanted to say.
That shocked him at the thought.
"No! She is your best friend's sister and the daughter of your parent's closest friends. She is like a sister to you." he reminded himself.
He suddenly walked away from Kirsten, as if burned.
He was surprised and a little embarrassed by his behavior. He wanted to say something when the door suddenly opened.
"Caleb!" Kirsten happily greeted his brother with a hug.
He took a deep breath first, trying to get rid of what was running through his mind earlier. He was about to approach his best friend when suddenly someone entered the door.
"Stephie?"
"Honey!" the woman who came in greeted him warmly, excitedly approached him and hugged him. He was even shocked because she kissed him on the lips.
He could see how Kirsten's eyes widened at what she witnessed.
