Chapter 31: Petelburg Gym Battle- Part 2
Norman has sent Vigaroth, whereas Jason sent his rock and steel type pokemon Lairon to counter vigaroth.
"Battle Begin." Said Referee.
"Lairon use Rock Throw." Jason said to his partner pokemon.
"Vigaroth start with Sword Dance" Said Norman.
Lairon surrounded itself with brownish aura and rock started to come up from ground and Lairon motioned those rocks towards vigaroth. Vigaroth put his both hands on chest and started spinning speedily. Vigaroth protected itself from that Rock Throw.
In Audience:
When Norman lost his two pokemon, Little Ruby was sad. He asked his mother, "Mom dad is loosing to Jason ? Is Jason more powerful then dad ?"
"No Son, this battle is not for power but for proving worth. Gym Leaders don't see your power, they see your capability of reaching at certain heights." Said Carolina.
"I didn't understand mom." Said Ruby who was confused at what his mom said.
"Son if a trainer has great potential then he can reach at different level and even surpass Gym Leaders in coming years, then Gym Leader test those trainers with different level pokemons and check their capability and way of learning in critical situations." Explained Carolina.
Ruby nodded and started looking back to battlefield where Vigaroth just countered Rock Throw using Sword Dance.
In Battlefield:
Jason was now used to such tricks so he was not that amazed by Vigaroth's counter.
"Vigaroth Use Water Pulse." Said Norman. This shocked Jason but he knows that Vigaroth can be taught Water Pulse and this Vigaroth is most reliable pokemon of Norman so he must know some different moves.
A sphere of Water appeared in center of both hands of Vigaroth and he threw it towards Lairon, Jason told Lairon to counter it with Sand Storm and a big sand storm surrounded battlefield which stopped and destroyed that water pulse in mid air.
Norman smiled with this move and he said, "Good counter Jason., lets see how you will counter this, Vigaroth use Shadow ball."
Few black and creepy balls were sent towards Lairon, who countered them with his new move on which Jason was working, that was Steel Ball. Next came a hyper beam from Vigaroth and Lairon tried to counter it with his Flash Canon but that was of no use and Lairon got hit with that hyper beam. But vigaroth was confused after using Hyper Beam (Most Probably very powerful compare to what he uses), Lairon was lying on ground from that heavy hit but Jason called him and told to use Rock Slide and with full power then use Take Down, both hits were direct hits and Lairon gave it a finishing touch with combo of Steel Ball and Flash Canon. Vigaroth fainted by 4 direct hits and those attacks were used by Lairon using his full power that drained him too much but increased his control on two elements.
"Vigaroth is unable to battle, Lairon is winner." Said Referee.
In Audience:
"Vigaroth Lost, mom he is hurt, will he be fine ?" Asked Ruby who was very sad for his friend's loss.
"Yeah he will be fine, don't worry, he will just need a little rest and then you both can play together again." Said Carolina.
In Battlefield:
Norman recalled his Vigaroth and thanked him, then took out another pokeball and threw it in air and from that a large, bipedal Pokémon appeared. It had a brown hide with several raised patches and a cream-colored belly. It had large, cream-colored ears, narrow, red eyes, and a short, rounded snout with two fangs in the back of its upper jaw. On top of its head was a thick, black plate. There were epaulette-like growths over its shoulders and a row of spikes down its back. It had three clawed digits on each hand and foot and a thick tail.
That pokemon was huge and approximately 9 feet. Lairon was tired but Jason planned to stick with him as he was able to control his elements and Jason thought to give him another chance to reach Peak Elite by pushing his powers.
"Kangaskhan use hyper beam." Said Norman.
Kangaskhan's mouth glowed with orange light and she sent that light towards Lairon.
"Lairon Flash Canon full power." Said Jason.
Lairon covered its whole body with silver aura and used Flash Canon with full power, both attacks collided in air and they both were filling attack with more power to push it towards other one (Like Goku and others do in Dragon Ball series). Lairon was being pushed back as that Kangaskhan was very powerful.
"Lairon full strength, do it now." Shouted Jason.
Lairon used his full strength and both the attacks were blasted in mid air. Kangaskhan used Rock Slide and Lairon was covered under many rocks. Jason again called for his partner to come out now as he knew in such situation only he can reach next level.
A silver light and brown light emerged from the rocks and they were destroyed with a blast, Lairon was standing and it seemed his size was increased. He was controlling the elements with more ease then before and his strength was also increased as sensed by Jason through aura.
"Lairon use Steel Ball." Said Jason. Lairon surrounded itself with Silver aura and sent around 10-15 balls of steel towards Kangaskhan, Kangaskhan destroyed 7-8 balls with her Brick break move but got hit by other balls. Those steel balls were bigger compare to balls he used previously against Vigaroth.
"Kangaskhan use Giga Impact." Said Norman and Kangaskhan Jumped in air and curled herself then covered with a silver aura and started falling with great speed on Lairon. Lairon just covered himself with his silver and brownish Aura and stood there still, Jason also wanted to see how Lairon is gonna control that powerful Giga Impact.
Kangaskhan fell on Lairon and a Storm appeared in the battlefield due to collision, when storm subsided Lairon's feet were in the ground and he was holding Kangaskhan over his spikes. Lairon threw Kangaskhan up in the air and used Flash Canon which was also powerful then before.
Kangaskhan was sent flying towards the Gym Wall and with that great impact the wall was broken with a big hole in the place where Kangaskhan was thrown. Without giving a chance to her, Lairon used Take Down and sent her back on battlefield, Kangaskhan was crying in pain and she was bleeding as well, but Lairon was showing no mercy and he used rock slide then sent a powerful earthquake. Then another combination of Steel balls, there was a huge blast from these consecutive attacks and when smoke subsided, Kangaskhan was lying on ground Unconscious.
"Kangaskhan is Unable to battle, Winner is Lairon. That means Jason from Gao village is Winner." Said Referee.
Lairon fell on ground after announcement, Jason ran towards Lairon, he knew that Lairon used too much power today but he was happy because Lairon is now at Peak Elite Level.
Norman walked towards Jason and said, "Your pokemons are really powerful and they trust you alot. This bond is helping them to increase their potential." Norman handed him Balance Badge with 2 Stars on it. Jason took the badge and thanked him. Ruby and Carolina reached there as well and Ruby asked his father, "are Vigaroth and Kangaskhan hurt dad ?"
"Yes but a little, they battled with a Pokemons of a good trainer. But don't worry they will be fine soon." Said Norman as he knew Vigaroth is Ruby's best friend and Kangaskhan cares for him alot so he is very attached to these two pokemons. Jason smiled on innocence of Ruby who was going to be a legend in coming future.
They wanted Jason to stay with them for few days but Jason refused as he had to reach Professor Birch's Laboratory as soon as Possible so he planned to continue his Journey towards Oldale Town from where he will go to Littleroot Town.
