Chapter 3: CH 3 Sink in shallow water
As Lizel was writing and revising her notes in the library and out of nowhere someone covers her eyes from behind. Her heart fluttered as she removed the hands and turned around, it was Elly.
Elly shuts tightly her lips as she holds her laugh, Mei was chuckling beside her and then sits in front if her.
"Lizel you're blooming, what's your secret?" Elly teases Lizel
"Look. . . Elly, there you go again. Bullying Lizel early in the morning."
"What? you were laughing earlier. Don't play innocent."
"Well it's because Lizel is looks so cute , being lovestruck." Mei raises a finger "But I didn't bully her though, unlike you" a smug on her face was clearly seen. Elly mocks Mei in reply and laughed afterwards.
"Is your boyfie gonna study with us? It seems you are expecting" Mei asks Lizel
"No I didn't told him I am here. This is our group study, why would he be here?"
"Why does it look like you're sulking? Just message him to get you afterwards"
Elly did her best to comfort Lizel with her words but even though itwasn't really helping , it made Lizel remember something
"Well, Mino did say that he needs my help in reviewing some products sent to him."
" Oooohhh, like PR packages? Must be nice to get free stuff." Mei then grabs Lizel's hand "If he has skincare PR he doesn't like let me have it, please Lizel?"
"Why are you telling Lizel? You go tell that to Mino not his girlfriend."
Mei turns to Elly and shoots a dagger look "Yes Elly? Are you Lizel?" Elly didn't respond and only sighed Mei then lets go of Lizel's hand
" You know what? Fine, don't do it. Mino might think you said yes because of your friends who are free sample/stuff lovers."
"You guys didn't let me say anything." Lizel looks at the two of them.
"I'll ask Mino ok? lets just do what we are supposed to do here."
Mei gave Elly a smirk and nods to Lizel while Elly simply sighs and pulls out her notes. The three of them studied together and shared notes, Clio arrived a bit later and just copies their revised notes.
As they exited the library the four of them were discussing at where they should go for their fortnight book review. It became a tradition to the four of them that they always try to cram it on their schedules; they've decided that they'll held it at Elly's place for they like the terrace and the garden they have there.
All of them were pretty much excited as they are talking as to what food the other will bring. Lizel is always in charge with dessert since she's really good at baking.
While the four of them are on their way to the lecture hall, they saw Mino still on its way as well. Mino's eyes beamed as he sees Lizel, and waved his hand so high Lizel couldn't even miss it ; if he has a tail it would've been wagging crazy.
He suddenly looked confused and wondered why was he so excited to Lizel.
Lizel waves in reply and once close ro each other she clinged to his arm as they head inside the room. Mino lost thought of his confusion and smiled at Lizel and seated together
During the lecture, as Mino is eating his per usual fox candy from Lizel he remembered the product review he plans to do with her.
"Are you free weekend?" he whispers
" I have plans with my friends to do a book review."
"Book review of what?" Mino's brows furrowed.
"Of the books we bought from book hunting, we buy each other books and we review those." Lizel left out a soft giggle "Sometimes we criticize each others taste and ask what made them think we are gonna like it."
"Oh okay" Mino nods and gave a slight pause " But can you cancel that for me just this one time."
He reached for Lizel's hand and his thumb stroking her hand.
"I need you for the whole weekend, please Lizel." Mino frowned and looked down at her hand still stroking with his thumb.
Lizel has been doing this book reviews with her friends for more than a year, they would understand if it's only this one time right?
Lizel cupped her other hand to Mino's " Sure, I'll let them know i said yes to you already."
"Thanks Lizel, you really know how to make me happy."
" I'll talk to them after class."
" Sure, I'll wait for you outside okay.

As the Professor concluded the lecture Lizel stood up to locate her friends and Mino gestured that he will wait outside; to her surprise they were just behind them. Most of the time they turn really bitter whenever it gets delayed as that is their tradition, they don't do it very often as well.
Before Lizel could open her mouth she was shushed already by Elly.
"We heard already everything." Elly's lips pressed thinly and clasped her hands. "We would have really liked it if you chose us but hey, we understand how you can't say no."
Mei immediately added " Yeah, I know that we always make this a big deal but not this time. You guys are just new couples, so it might take some time before you guys to --"
Clio covered Mei's mouth to cut her off
"What this two philosophers wants to say is it's okay this time, but next time let him know how we schedule." Clio couldn't help but raise a brow as she looks outside to see Mino looking at them as well.
"Right now, you are adjusting but its not only you who better learn that." Clio sighed and forced a smile
" Ok? We'll see you next weekend then." Clio took her purse and was the first one to went out; she didn't even bother to look at Mino.
Mei and Elly looked at each other nudging each other to talk.
"It's alright Lizel, Clio is not mad at you, she's just frustrated."
"Yeah, Mei is right. You know Clio she's just being herself, she'll be fine next week don't worry."
Lizel felt bad but they knew how much she likes Mino, they even suggest her books that sometimes they think that can be an AU for Lizel and Mino.
Lizel could only send a message saying that she would make it up to them. Mino checks up on Lizel as they were walking by grabbing her waist, a smile pasted to his face.
There goes Mino again his eyes melting Lizel, perhaps Clio was right to call her twiggy she snaps so easily and gets weak whenever Mino tries to make a move on her.
Mino eyes her lips as his hand slides up to her shoulder, Lizel sees Mino subtly licks his lips. Her mind in swirls as she tries to ask Mino.
" What - What is - are you doing? We're in public Mino people are looking."
Mino smirked at Lizel and said
" People will always stare, make it worth their while."
God help Lizel as she felt weak in the knees, Mino pulls Lizel closer to his arm and pats her head.
"Don't look so down, they said it was alright isn't it? Oh by the way I'll meet you at 9am in the coffee shop near my apartment alright?"
"Oh ok, so we will review the skincare products at the coffee shop?"
Mino looked at Lizel in pure disbelief " Huh? What?" he then laughed at Lizel and pinches her cheek "We will do it at my apartment silly not in the coffee shop."
The moment Lizel got home she immediately messaged her friends in their group chat

Lizel was puzzled by Clio's sudden reaction she was thankful though that at least its not mad at her anymore. She messaged her friends thank you and goodnight as she needs to sleep early; she is so much looking forward for the next day.
Lizel woke up feeling refreshed. . .
That is what she wants to happen; however she got so excited for today she only had a wink of sleep, now she is rushing to be on time as she woke up late. Before she left their house she double checked in the mirror, her rating; decent enough.
Good thing there was no traffic on her way to the coffee shop. Once she got out from the cab she immediately checked her phone.
8:56am
The let out a deep sigh, her relief that she made it in time.
While waiting inside she ordered a salted caramel macchiato with two pumps of raspberry syrup, when the drink was served she suddenly remembers how Mei and Elly consider her order weird as her drinks has all the flavors, sweet, sour, bitter, and saltiness. Clio couldn't give a comment as she doesn't drink coffee.
9:13am
Lizel messages Mino as to where it was, perhaps she got the time wrong? 9am right? it's only been thirteen minutes perhaps he woke up late and is just taking a shower.
9:35am
Perhaps Mino might still be asleep? Lizel dialled his phone number, apparently it immediately leads her to the voice message. Is the signal bad at his location? should she try to call through the social app?
10:28am
It's been more than an hour, perhaps she should go home but this is going to be the first time that Mino ever invited her. Lizel didn't want to disappoint if he ever comes here, she went to the counter and ordered another macchiato and this time with a blueberry cheesecake; she hasn't had her breakfast yet and Mino might bring food for her.
11:02am
As Lizel went to get her 3rd blueberry cheesecake she devised a plan, she will get a tiny bit of the cheesecake every ten minutes and if ever the cheesecake and Mino is not there Lizel will go home.
12:23pm
Perhaps Mino is planning a surprise for her, she overall already sent in 8 messages already and called 4 times her fingers are hesitant to dial nor type in a message. She might be labeled obsessed. That's the last thing Lizel wanted to be, not again. Not again.
As her grip tightens to her phone, the door chimes rang was and a figure stands in front of her. It was him, Mino. Covered in sweat and wearing a muscle tee and sweatpants; Mino was panting so hard he can't even say a word and Lizel smiled and stood up to get him a glass of water.
Lizel wanted to get mad but she can't , she is not like that anymore.
'Good thing I was only halfway on the fourth cheesecake.'
That's the only thought that ran through her head.
