Chapter 3: Chapter Three

Alex starts walking to the bar when a car pulls up beside her. "Hey babe. Get in here. It's not safe out here at night." Alex looks at the person driving. "No thanks. I'm good." Alex continues walking when she feels the guy from the car grab her. "I said get in the car." Alex yanks her arm away from the man. "I said no. Now go away." Alex walks towards the alley that cuts through to the police station. A little bit later the man grabs Alex's arm again but harder. "I wasn't asking." Alex is being dragged to the car when the man holding her isn't anymore. "Are you okay Alex?" Alex nods. "I'm good now that you're here." Samantha smiles at Alex. Alex smiles back. They kiss softly. Samantha helps Alex up to her feet. The man from before takes his knife and goes to cut Alex but Samantha grabs his arm before he even made it close enough. She growls at the man. "You're hurting me. Let go you psycho." Samantha growls again. "Let him go Sam. He's not worth it." Samantha stands firm. Alex grabs ahold of Samantha's dick and squeezes a bit. Samantha grunts. Alex kisses Samantha's neck while rubbing on Samantha's dick. "Let him go." Samantha lets the man go but not before breaking every bone in his arm holding the knife. "Get in." Alex gets in the car with Samantha in the driver's seat. Once buckled Samantha speeds off to the bar. Once there Samantha places her hand on the side of Alex's face. "You sure you're okay?" Alex brings Samantha's hand from her face to her lips and kisses each fingertip. "I'm okay. Why you keep asking?" "Your heart is racing super fast. That's why." Alex looks into Samantha's eyes. "Kiss me. Slowly." Samantha does as she's told. Once they part Alex's heart slows. "I see why you wanted me to kiss you." Alex hums as Samantha's lips glide along Alex's cheek. "You slow my heart when we kiss but you can also speed it up." Samantha chuckles. "Lets go." Alex walks into the bar with Samantha. Once seated and ordered drinks are put in front of the two they look at each other having a staring contest. A few minutes later Alex blinks. "Hahaha you blinked. I win." Alex laughs. "Yeah yeah. So question?" "Yeah?" "Did my mother know about Ruby?" Samantha nods. "How come she knew but I didn't? You and I were just as close as you two were." "Even closer if I recall." Samantha winks. "I guess I didn't tell you cuz I was too busy worrying about yours and your mothers' health." Alex nods. "That makes sense. I remember that break out very well. We both nearly died as I recall." Samantha nods. "Yep. Turns out I loved you then too." "Wait really? You love me?" Samantha looks into Alex's eyes. "Of course I love you. Why wouldn't I? You are my world." Alex starts crying. "Then why'd you leave?" Samantha brings Alex onto her lap and places her hand on Alex's heart. "Trust me when I say that when I did that I tortured myself for years. That was the hardest thing I have ever done." Alex places her hand on top of Samantha's and kisses her slowly. "Did you really torture yourself?" Samantha nods. "6 years burning and cutting at my skin. 6 years is like 60 years in vampire years. I even poured acid on myself a couple times." Alex wraps her arms around Samantha's neck. "You shouldn't have done that to yourself." Samantha gets up and goes over to the dance floor. "You and I both know I couldn't of stopped myself if I wanted to." Alex puts her forehead against Samantha's and sighs. "True. So what stopped you in the end?" "A friend in England. Her and I go way back." "Back to the beginning?" They both chuckle. "We have been friends since 1214." Alex gasps. "You have been alive for that long?" Samantha nods. "Well technically I was alive from 1192 until 1213. I've technically been dead since then." Alex slaps Samantha's shoulder playfully. "Smart ass." Samantha chuckles. "You still love me." Alex nods. Samantha kisses Alex deeply. Alex moans into the kiss. A few minutes later someone taps Samantha on the shoulder. "Yes?" "You Sam?" Samantha smiles. "That's me." The man hands Samantha a envelope and walks away. Alex looks at the envelope. "Are you okay Sam?" Samantha nods. "Come with me." Alex takes Samantha's hand and follows her to the back of the bar. "Is it okay that we're back here?" "Relax. I know the owner." As if on cue. "Are you okay there Sam? You look kinda blue." The girl chuckles. "Haha Aves. I'm fine." Alex opens the envelope with Samantha. "Happy Birthday babe." Alex gasps. "It's so pretty. Thank you." Samantha kisses Alex. "You're welcome baby." Samantha helps Alex put her bracelet on. "God I love you." "I love you." The two kiss deeply. A little bit later. "Hey Avery?" Avery comes back into the office. "Yes?" "Could you keep an eye on Alex for me? I have a job coming up soon and I don't trust men around her after what happened before we got here." Avery places her hand on Samantha's shoulder. "Of course. No sweat." "Thanks bud." The two hug. "It's no problem. I owe you remember?" "Yes. Thank you." Avery nods once and the three leave the office. Back on the dance floor. "Where are you going?" Samantha spins her and Alex around slowly. "Ireland. Have some meetings to get through." Alex nods. "When do you leave?" Samantha checks her phone calender. "Day after tomorrow. It was supposed to be today but I told them I had a family emergency." Alex looks at Samantha confusedly for a second. Samantha smiles. Alex then realizes what Samantha meant and kissed her hard. "You're a goofball." "Your goofball babe." Alex laughs at that. "Yes. You are my goofball." Samantha and Alex have a few more drinks and have a few more dances. In the car. "Hey babe?" "Yeah?" Alex grabs ahold of Samantha's hand. "Stay with me tonight?" Samantha brings Alex's hand up to her lips and kisses it. "Of course love." Samantha pulls up to Alex's apartment building. They exit the car once parked and walk into the building hand in hand. In the elevator Alex squeezes Samantha's hand tighter. Samantha hears Alex's heart speed up once they reach the floor to Alex's apartment. "You're okay. I'm right here." Samantha kisses the side of Alex's face. They exit the elevator and Alex's heart sky rockets once she sees her neighbor. "Evening Alex." Alex smiles. "Evening Kurt." "Just getting in?" Alex's grip tightens on Samantha's hand. "Yes. Sam and I are just getting in. We were at the bar." "Oh how lovely. Nice to meet you Sam." "Likewise." Kurt sees Alex's hand twitch. "Are you okay Alex? Your hand is twitching." "Fine. Just buzzed. From the drinks." Kurt nods once. "I see. Well goodnight. Off to work." "Goodnight Kurt." Alex opens her door and pulls Samantha in. "What was that about?" "Shh." Alex closes the door. "That was Kurt." "I assumed so. Why did your heart do that?" Alex sighs and starts getting undressed. "Remember the guy I told you about at the bar through our telepathic link?" Samantha nods. Alex looks at Samantha in that way she does to make her see what she means. Samantha gasps. "That was him?" Alex nods. "Yep." "I should follow him and rip his dick off." Alex wraps her arms around Samantha's neck. "Oh no you don't. Strip. Shower time." Samantha gets undressed and follows Alex to the bathroom. The two shower quickly and dry off. Alex puts on a tank top and sweatpants. Alex then hands Samantha a pair of boxers and a sports bra. "Thanks." Alex nods. "No problem." Samantha gets dressed and climbs into bed with Alex. Alex cuddles in close to Samantha. "Goodnight." Samantha kisses Alex. "Goodnight." The two fall asleep.
