Chapter 2: Chapter 2: An Unexpected Approach

Nobody's POV:

Elilah didn't accept her hand, she got up herself, dusting herself off. She straightened her clothes, and wiped her eyes.

She had realized, but she didn't understand. She had first set out her goal to live alone, not to be involved with a society that wanted her dead. The forest knew that well, as much when she first arrived. Now she was supposed to give up on everything. It honestly seemed like she was going to reject and just run off again. To much surprise, she eventually just nodded.

"Not like I have anything to lose at this point." Her words were true, her thoughts were exact the same.

But now she felt different.

Something seemed hollow, or empty about her now.

Elilah didn't understand what they meant by potential. The only thing she could create was a barrier, but even that wasn't working for her at the moment.

Vinie's Pov:

I sadly listened to her words. My face showing sadness, not that she noticed anyway. I was happy she joined, but.. I felt a sudden emptiness in her. I let my hand fall back at my side.

"Y-you.. Do not have to go if you do not wish to.."I said quietly, my voice cracking, my eyes began to fill again with blood tears, I turned around, walking in the opposite direction.

▪Yeah, you stupid dog, I love your pain and sadness, ha!▪ Aria sneered. She waited for a response.

▪Vin-▪

"Leave me alone already, ok! You got what you wanted!"I yelled, my voice cracked again.

▪Half of what I want..▪ Aria corrected me, I could hear the smirk in her voice.

▪I want you dead.▪ She sighed.

Nobody's POV:

She took a deep breath, her eyes now serious. She looked at Vinie.

"Do not think it has anything to do with you, how I feel. Some part of me knew this would come, it always does." She kept herself vague, on that notion. "I've already lost everything that mattered to me. All, but my life, which even now seems insignificant after watching death come and claim the innocent, the exiled, and the guilty. Everything I knew has changed, this world is new and dangerous.. It was only a matter before I had to change to fit that. What better time than now? It may go against what I once established as myself, but it's obvious that doesn't matter, not anymore. I have no reason to stay the same...This is my first step. So please...let me accompany you."

Listening to her voice now, Elilah had an accent, it was from her culture. Staying away from others must have preserved their unique accent. She sounded formal, constantly formal. Even when it was unintentional.

Vinie's Pov:

I stopped. I wish she understood. But I smiled at her last words. I wiped my blood tears away, leaving red smudges on my face, I turned around, running up to her, I tackled her, giving her a bear-hug, "Thank you!"I shouted happily, I did not mean to, but I stained her flower crown with my blood and her shirt, as well as a bit of her face. "Thank you so much!"I could not stop smiling. I noticed her speech. I have a different manner of speech, due to being isolated all of my life, as far as I can remember.

Nobody's POV:

Elilah tensed, but slowly returned the embrace. She left out a sigh, but then a small smile formed on her face.

Vinie's Pov:

I felt a slight change in her.. But I chose not to say anything, for I knew she would any accusations. My tattered clothing, and skin, and hair were all dirty, blood covered, and that rubbed off onto the girl's pretty and beautifully clean clothes. "Sorry.."I got off of her, and stood up. My hair was in knots, it was long right now, but would eventuallybe cut into an inverted bob. I pushed up my glasses. "We should get goin'."I smiled, extending my hand.

Nobody's POV:

She nods, and slowly accepts, placing her hands in Vinie's.

"Yes. We should be off.. But where are we going?"Elilah asked, looking down at Vinie. She was only about an inch or 2 taller than Vinie.

Vinie's Pov:

I shrugged, pulling her up, as if it were nothing. "I have a place in mind..Maybe.. I have a feeling, something to the West is calling to me.."I trailed off.

I pulled my hood more. My skin was too covered in dirt and blood to see my true skin color.

I will show her myself, eventually.

Nobody's POV:

She simply nodded.

"Alright...well...lead the way." She kept herself quiet.

Vinie's Pov:

I was not accustomed to speaking with people.. I turned, walking towards the West.

Suddenly there was a shit, and a bullet pierced my forehead. I blinked twice. I only stood still.

Nobody's POV:

Elilah yelped, hearing the shot and looked around, her first response was to run into the trees, but she forced herself to stay rooted to the spot.

Vinie's Pov:

Another shot was fired, this time towards L, I placed myself in front of her, another bullet piercing my head. I walked over to a tree, jumping up into the leaves. "You should really learn some fightin'. Or are not you elves good healers?"I said yelled down at her.

Nobody's POV:

She looked down. Her..family had died before they got a chance to teach her hoe to heal. She knew she was capable of it, but had no method of making it work other than trying ti will it to happen "I can try."she oddly quietly nodded.

Vinie's Pov:

"If not it is quite alright."I called down to her, 5 more shots, all hit my body, I did not bother dodging. I summoned my Soul Scythe Roseala, slicing off the sniper's head, blood and head falling down to the ground, lots of blood splashing my face, I was hoping she would not have to see me kill.

Then the headless body began falling to the ground, I grabbed the gun, before jumping down, my Soul Scythe  disappearing. I had gun holes all over my body.

Nobody's POV:

"No...I can heal... I just uh... don't know how? My...they just never got a chance to help me."

Vinie's Pov:

"I can teach you! Or try.."I was seriously hoping, the body, head or blood did not fall on or near her, I did not need her fainting. "Not that I have a problem with the pain. I am honestly use to it."

I smell special blood in her.

"Know what a Soul Weapon is?"I asked.

-You are the only one with a Soul Weapon. She has another weapon waiting for her. A bit different-- I cut the Forest off.

"No she does. I am sure of it."

"Or something of that sort."I added.

Nobody's POV:

"Never heard of it." She replied.

"I..uh... Never had a need to use weapons. Anyone who came after me, got lost, because I could lead them into the deep."

Vinie's Pov:

Suddenly all the blood fell on top of me. It did not affect me at all, as I was use to it. "Of course, yoh have not."I smiled, a bit of a sarcastic tone in my voice. Then the head dropped onto my head, before rolling on the ground. Lastly the body, landed on top of me, I was still not affected. And my wounds were gushing blood, I was hit twice in the head, through the heart, in the stomach 2 times, and twice in the throat. Five shots, after the two headshots. "Let us go."I began walking.

Nobody's POV:

She recoiled at the sight, gagging, and hurried to get away from the scene.

Vinie's Pov:

My hood covered in fresh blood, as well as my face and body. "You..Really are in for a quite rude awakening.. If that made you gag."I said plainly.

-Or maybe it is just that, you are use to it, more than necessary- The Forest defended L.

Nobody's POV:

Elilah smiled a little, hearing the forest depend her, made her happy, that the forest still cared for her.

Vinie's Pov:

"Hphm.."I grunted a little, pouting a bit. After a few days of walking.

We finally reach a small town-city.

I hesitated, I did not wanna have rocks and such tossed at me. I bet, she wondered why I had stopped.

I shook it off, and walked into the town.

Nobody's POV:

Elilah felt tense around the city, she didn't like cities. She slowly followed Vinie. She could keep up fine, but feared that she'll stand out too much, because of how well kept she was.

Vinie's Pov:

I had taken out the bullets a few days ago, when we had gotten away from the gore scene.

Nobody's POV:

Elilah had washed the blood of her clothes in a river, when they were back in the forest.

Vinie's Pov:

Suddenly a boy, maybe in his teen years ran up to us, staring at us.

"Mom, mom look, the legends and prophecies, they were true!"he yelled happily. But then he stopped, his face turning bright red when he looked at L, he stared at her, once again. But he could not see my face, as the hood did it's job well.

Soon a woman with a baby in her arms ran outside, she yelled out "They have finally arrived!"And everyone else came running outside, those who were already outside turned staring at us, with hopeful looks.

"Come, come."the lady gestured to us. I was stunned that I was not being chased.
