Chapter 18: Blind Investigation
Jasmine felt her heart pounding as she turned the lights on and seeing the maid on Julian. She felt instantly sick to her stomach as the sheet slid off the maid and her hair back to reveal her face as it almost looked like Sophia from a side profile but it wasn't. She quickly turned to the crowd in a panic.
"There is nothing to see here I think we got the wrong room!!" She attempted to shoo the crowd away but Alexander parted the crowd and marched up to her.
"Jasmine! What's going on here!?!" Alexander voice was booming stopping the sinful lovers in their tracks and a drugged Julian looked up and sat up a little dizzy.
"What are you doing here brother?" chuckled Julian as his face was redder then a tomato. "I just stole your ex-fiancée from her new fiancée. Sophia will become an Elderedge after all!" Julian looked at the maid whose face was still covered by her hair.
Alexander quickly marched around the bed followed by Jasmine who bit her lip. Deep down she never knew Alexander had feeling still for ex-best friend and she hated it!
As Alexander yanked the maid's arm as he spotted many differences. The maids eyes are not the same as Sophia's and her cheeks are pale. The maid was beautiful but not as beautiful as Sophia nor did she look like her.
"Julian you fool! That's not Sophia!" Alexander shoved the maid on the floor making her snap out of her trance as he poured water on her causing her to be teary eyed and nervous.
Alexander poured a glass of cold water on Julian as well.
"Wake up!! We have a crowd and you guys are the clowns they're watching!"
Everyone had their phones out giggling and mumbling amongst each other. Flashes of phones and the crowd mumbling hurt Julian's head as he come to.
"So the girl wasn't Sophia?"
"Damn, I wanted to catch a scandal."
"Ah, another slut pretending to be someone she's not and smeared our beautiful goddess name."
The maid felt scared as she watched the glares of people. Julian fully awaken glanced at the maid who looked slightly different from Sophia but nevertheless she was beautiful in his eyes now, enough to be a substitute and quickly he had to think of something to save the Elderedge family reputation.
Julian quickly grabbed the maid's hand and whispered in her ear. "Follow my lead...What is your name?"
"Caterina." She softly spoke back. Julian smiled fakely and put his arms around Caterina's waist.
"I fell in love with Caterina at the party though she is a maid of the family she and I had grew up together and pledge our love. We thought we could get some privacy out of this evening." Julian glared at Jasmine as he stated the last part.
Caterina naively smiled and Alexander had doubts, everyone whispered and recordered the incident as Julian held onto Caterina.
"We shall investigate tonight's matter of who violated our privacy!"
Jasmine quickly leaved and texted on her phone furiously to Aurora and Joey. Jasmine marched over to the room where Aurora and Regina were waiting.
Regina stood up and answered the door in a teddy nightgown as Aurora was in a revealing corset as she glanced over to Jasmine.
"Oh, it's you!" Aurora stated rudely as Jasmine walked in fuming. "How is that bitch so lucky!"
Aurora threw her phone and glared at Jasmine.
"You should have watched yourself tonight not only if Joey didn't give you the antidote prior to you coming in his direction you would have been a loose woman tonight!"
Jasmine was taken aback as Regina looked extremely uncomfortable as she watched Aurora unhinged herself on Jasmine.
"You guys say that Sophia is lucky but where is she?" Regina said with a look of ponder.
"With my man!" yelled Aurora as she picked up her phone off the floor and texted Joey for a new one. "She's so cocky and lucky that she can literally do whatever the fuck she wants! She has the title I tried to strive for, for years!"
"How did you meet Lucas?" Regina interjected as she seemed interested in Aurora's tale.
"When I was 15, I was so interested in Lucas as he was an abroad student in our household. He was tall and handsome. I adored his cheeky american accent and he was gorgeous he had dark eyes and a smile for days. He studied hard under my father but my father entrusted the fortune to him all of a sudden after 3 years of being with company. Joey was angered and wanted me to marry Lucas after knowing about this."
Aurora voice started to lower in tone as she thought back to the times she was with Lucas from teenager to adult.
"When I was in my first year of college I took a bullet for him. He cherished me for only a few months but something weird happened he started getting colder to me and colder. I came home once and I heard a female's voice in the room. I felt so enraged. I felt so angered that I burned the mansion down only to figure out his sister was the one in his room with him. I didn't know he had a sister and she was burned badily especially to her face."
Aurora's voice was showing guilt briefly but she smirked confidently as a picked up a wine glass briefly stirring it.
"I was just happy it wasn't another whore but after that he sent me to the asylum. I still wonder how can he do that to me after years of loyalty." Aurora crushed the glass in her hand until blood visibly dripped with a blank stare. "After being a little sister to him at first."
Aurora sighed heavily and Jasmine stepped forward and thought 'Why did Lucas abandon Aurora?' she thought it could be that Joey did something because he was always close to Lucas but also hated him. A lap dog that bites his master constantly.
"Maybe it was for the best but you have a goal and never stop going for it..." Jasmine smiled greedily as she stated the next phrase. "Money and power is what you want! Never stop getting it! You have expensive taste in men but he is the best! Never stop striving for your goal at all!"
Aurora smiled as she looked up at Jasmine who smiled malicously back.
"I heard that Sophia is not a pure girl and she seduce rich men." Jasmine smiled as she explained to Aurora. "You have to play dirty for what you want."
