Chapter 108: Fighting
Morning came by after the long night filled the day. Sumi and Sonoko were happy; their faces beamed with an unmistakable happiness aura. The sleepover last night was really fun, and they enjoyed it so much since both heroes could also grow closer to Eleonora. They also grew closer to Sonoka and others and became friends with them quickly.
Sumi was shocked when she heard that Gin was one of Eleonora's lovers. Usually, someone would be angry, but the black-haired ponytail could understand her grey-haired friend. She understands that because Sumi also began to harbor a crush on Eleonora, maybe love at first sight for the correct term.
But not only her who experience that. Nogi Sonoko, the leader of the hero team in this era, also falls in love with Eleonora at first sight. All heroes in this era, if that's including Gin, have fallen in love with Eleonora Pendragon, and the young bluenette didn't do anything special to gain their love or attention.
Once again, Eleonora is aware of that and grateful that someone loves her. One of her dream and wishes is to have a big family; that is also one of the reasons why she has a harem and gets permission from Sakura. But the young bluenette doesn't intend to be royalty of the Pendragon family; Eleonora doesn't want to keep the old tradition and get to rule Britain once again. She will start a new history for the Pendragon family.
And that's started with having many women as her harem. She still has a long way to reach that, but she is positively sure that it will be achieved as long as Eleonora doesn't forget and keeps trying her hardest. Not to mention she also intended to be an immortal so she could live forever with her beloved.
But right now, Eleonora and everyone in the temporary house have to enjoy the breakfast for today.
"So, who's the one in charge of today's breakfast?"
Eleonora asked while helping to set the tableware. She did glance a bit at the kitchen and saw Chiyuki wearing an apron, which is a lovely sight for Eleonora and also refreshing; it calmed her mind and soul too. Chiyuki really looks like a genuine housewife by wearing that apron in the kitchen.
"it's me, Leo-chan. Aya-chan helped me with chopping the ingredients."
"Chiyu-san, could I ask you to teach me about cooking? If possible, Noka-san too."
Ayako said that while her hands kept holding the knife, cutting the ingredients. Sonoka or Noka is the nickname that Ayako gave her, perked up at the mention of that. She stared at Chiyuki, and both nodded their heads in agreement.
"Of course, we'd love to teach you about cooking. Sonoka-san is the expert in cooking asides from Leo-chan, after all. While I just have average skills at cooking, so I'm not sure if I can teach anything useful, Aya-chan."
"Nonsense, Chiyuki-san. We can learn together and improve ourselves. Don't you think so, Aya-san?"
"You're right! I mean, I want Eleonora to… taste my cooking and praise it."
She said bashfully and twirling her fingers together, causing everyone in the room to chuckle seeing that reaction from her. Even Eleonora huffed with an amused smile as she heard Ayako say that. Learning to cook for the sake of her beloved, not only Ayako who think of that idea.
Mao then spoke after seeing her classmate and best friend's reaction. She wanted to support her best friend, while Ayako always did the same thing for her.
"Yeah, Aya-chan has never done any cooking up until now. Maybe it's a good thing, and I support her too. Or if possible, we can do a cooking class for everyone here that wants to learn it."
"A cooking class… that's a good idea. We can do that in our free time. Since I am also well-versed in that field too, I can offer some help with Chiyuki-nee and Sonoka-nee."
"Me too! I'm quite good at cooking, so I can help."
Gin raised her hand and volunteered that. Eleonora, Sonoka, and Chiyuki nodded at each other as they were agreed on something. Ayako and Mao, Eri, Sumi, and Sonoko smiled, seeing that because the ones who can't cook so well are Ayako, Mao, and Sonoko. While Eri and Sumi already have experience in that field.
"Then, we will do that later. For now, let's eat our breakfast. It will get cold if we wait for too long."
Chiyuki said that while taking Eleonora's bowl and pouring the miso soup. Afterward, she gave it back to Eleonora and took another bowl to fill it with the rice. Everyone nodded and began to prepare the foods on the bowls.
Eleonora took a sip of the miso soup, then stopped for a moment before saying something.
"Thank you, Chiyuki-nee. It's delicious as always."
"Fufu, thank you, Leo-chan. It seems my hard work paid well."
"Well, you did, and I am happy to get to taste this. Hopefully, I get to taste this every day."
Chiyuki just let out a slight chuckle and nodded, hearing the compliment and flirt from Eleonora. The young bluenette said that without a shred of embarrassment within her. Sumi and Sonoko is the one who seemed embarrassed, their cheeks heating up since they weren't getting used to this wholesome and lovely atmosphere around them.
Gin was surprisingly different from the heroes; she did not feel embarrassed and just did her current job.
"Here you go, Ayako-san, Mao-san."
"Thanks, Gin-chan!"
"Yep, thanks."
"No problem! Sumi, Sonoko. Here yours!"
The grey-haired girl said while handling the bowls of miso soup and rice to her heroes' friends and best friends. Those two accept it while still a bit dumbfounded by the current situation, as they are also trying to get used to it.
Their eyes glanced at each other and nodded as they were thinking the same in their minds.
'I have to get used to this if I want to marry Eleonora-san in the future.'

After breakfast and going to school, Sumi and Sonoko that already received some information from their sleepover last night, have determined expressions on their faces. Although they knew that the heroes were indebted to Taisha because of their constant support, the two girls also felt conflicted with the truth they learned.
Sumi was disgusted, while Sonoko felt a bit lifeless but tried to hide it from anyone except Sumi, so they won't be suspicious. Even from her family, she hid that since Sumi and Sonoko's parents have already known it but never told them because Taisha forbid it.
'I have never thought our parents already knew it. Taisha is behind all of this; they hid such crucial information and never let heroes learn them. Eleonora-san, despite our short time, tells us all the truth. Gin also confirms it. Her looks when saying that, it's sincere, and I don't sense any lie.'
The black-haired ponytail girl frowned and clicked her tongue, disgusted with Taisha. She also worried about Sonoko since that dirty blonde-haired girl somehow became depressed and a bit lifeless. It leaves a huge impact on Sonoko because her family has a very high status and reputation in Taisha, just like Gin.
'Moreover, Sonocchi is our leader. All the hard work she commits as if lying to her because it becomes vain. We just sacrifice in this never-ending war of human-Vertexes. Unless some miracle occurred and saved us, solving the problem, then this will never end.'
Thankfully Sumi can calm herself, but it still gives her a sour taste. She would never look at Taisha in the same light and sight again after knowing the whole truth. Sumi also felt the current heroes' hard work and the past ones felt vain.
But this time will be different. Sumi and Sonoko already have a plan with Eleonora and her lovers being the help for them. They don't know how powerful Eleonora's group is, but she has a good feeling that their decision isn't wrong.
"Sonocchi, don't worry about it. I'm sure that this never-ending war will be cleared with the help of Eleonora-san and her group. We will also find a chance to confront Taisha, making sure they face the judgment for what they did."
Sumi tells Sonoko and tries to comfort her. The dirty blonde-haired girl was speechless as she stared at her best friend, giving Sumi a simple nod and trying to flash her honest smile despite it felt difficult to do because of her current mood.
"Mhm. Thank you, Wasshi. I hope so because I don't want everyone to suffer far longer because of the war between humanity and Vertexes. If we fail, surely Taisha will find the next generation of heroes to do that again. I don't want that; they will don't know the truth."
Both nodded at each other. As Sumi and Sonoko did that, their phones suddenly had a message with the text' Forestize Warning'. The atmosphere suddenly became different as time stopped, save for those who could move, but their faces paled when they recognized it. Rather than determination, it was fear that filled them.
The determination they have this morning falls apart. Still, before saying something, Sumi and Sonoko have completely vanished and teleported to where the heroes should battle the Vertex do, which was provided by a divine being and existence called Shinju-sama.
And currently in Eleonora temporary house. Eleonora and her group flinched as they felt a strange sensation that suddenly appeared. Even Gin widened when the familiar feeling was being sensed by her. They looked at each other before nodding without asking any questions.
"Alright, let's save our friends first. Gin, are you ready for this?"
Just for making sure, Eleonora asked Gin that kind of question, as the grey-haired girl gave her bluenette lover a confirmed nod while showing a determined look on her face. She holds Eleonora's right hand while everyone circles around the young bluenette.
A magical circle appears, then a portal-like thing suddenly seems out of thin air without delay. Within a few seconds, the blurry light that came from the magic circle grew and blinding as well covered everyone's bodies here.
Jukai, Shinju's realm
Eleonora and her group opened their eyes as they were teleported, witnessing the scenery change where they are currently. Gin's grey eyes remembered this scenery, a familiar one that she has already visited many times as a hero of Shinju and humanity.
"..As I have expected. Eleonora, this is Jukai. A realm where Shinju-sama resides."
Gin said, answering the confusion of some people in the group. Eleonora put on an understanding face when she heard that, but something still confused her about this place. She wondered why the ground is covered in vines and has a rainbow color scheme, ranging from purple to green to teal. Even the vines are gigantic.
"So this is where you heroes battle the Vertexes, huh. A pocked dimension or another layer of reality. Does Shinju prepare this for the sake of not damaging the normal world? Or something along both worlds connected, and if any damage happens there, damage occurs in the real world?"
The grey-haired girl nodded, causing the young bluenette to let out a heavy sigh and shake her head. Maybe a disappointed sigh since Shinju, deemed an almighty god or absolute divine being, seemed not so powerful as she imagined.
"Alright. Why did this happen though, any idea, Gin?"
Eleonora asked while going in battle mode along with everyone.
"This is a phenomenon known as Forestize. Heroes will get a warning message about this and be teleported to here whenever Vertex is involved. Usually, it's only heroes since they got the terminal and were chosen by Shinju-sama, but I don't know why all of us also teleported here."
"I see. Let's save it for later, and right now, we do whatever it takes to prevent the attack. As I knew, does Sumi-san and Sonoko-san also in here? If so, then we should find and help them. I'm apprehensive about their safety even though they were heroes. We split into two groups since we have an odd number of people, and I will go alone."
All of them nodded and quickly searched for them by splitting themselves into a group of two. The first group is Chiyuki, Gin, and Mao, while the second group is Sonoka, Eri, and Ayako. While Eleonora is alone without a group, she can do this alone and make it easier.
'I hope nothing was going wrong with those two.'

On the other side, Sumi and Sonoko transform into their hero outfit, holding the Hero System's weapon from the hero terminal. Sumi's hero outfit is a long, neon purple kimono-like dress with blue accents. She has a purple and grey-black undersuit, and her hair is tied back with a chrysanthemum-shaped barrette and a large rifle as her weapon. As for Sonoko, her outfit is a deep violet suit with some white undertones and four coattails, two in front and two in back. A purple ribbon is secured to her chest by a white and purple bow while she wields a multi-pronged Sankaku Yari spear that allows her to strike from mid-distance.
The two of them stand and protect each other back, as the smallest Vertex unit quickly circles them, known as Stardust. Knowing that, they then began to combat the group of Stardust until the Vertex that was the main boss showed itself, as Sumi and Sonoko realized it wouldn't end without its defeats. Defeating one by one, it was never-ending until they were suddenly hit by another Stardust that emerged from the ground and released many clouds of smoke surrounding them.
"What is this? I can't see anything."
"Gas…? It can't be!"
One of the Stardust was then about to launch its lighting attack in the smoke, causing many explosions, but suddenly was blocked by a transparent-like barrier surrounding Sumi and Sonoko. The Stardust was shocked, and Sumi and Sonoko were shocked too, seeing that since none of their Hero System activated to protect them. The clouds of smoke faded by the gust of winds that swept it away, revealing someone that Sumi and Sonoko knew.
"Eleonora-san?!"
The two were shocked to see their savior standing right before them, who gave them a reassuring smile, causing Sumi and Sonoko to faint blush on their cheeks. It was Eleonora Pendragon, the futanari perfect girl that's also Mary Sue, who saved them with a transparent-like barrier surrounding these two.
"Sumi-san, Sonoko-san, are you alright? I hope I'm not late."
While still stunned and has faint blush on her cheeks, Sumi is the one who spoke and responded.
"I-It's okay, Eleonora-san. We… are fine, but we are supposedly fine because of our Hero System."
"Uh-huh, but from what I know, your Hero System has so many flaws that can't be relied on. That's why I did my best to give you a protection barrier. Also, that monster isn't something to be underestimated about. I have a terrible feeling about this guy."
Eleonora said so while frowning at Stardust. She cast another protection barrier and some buffs to Sumi and Sonoko while helping them stand after almost being blown away by the multitude of explosions from Stardust's attack. It was great timing for the young bluenette to come and protect them, so Sumi and Sonoko wouldn't rely too much on their so-called Hero System.
Sumi and Sonoko nodded as they agreed with Eleonora.
"We know that, Eleonora-san. It will be a tough one we faced so far."
"Wasshi's right. But we can handle this, Eleonora-san."
But Eleonora's response was a shook from her head when Sonoko reassured her about the current situation. She wasn't so convinced and held some suspicion towards Taisha that provided Sumi and Sonoko with the Hero System. After all, they are also the ones who had responsibility for Gin's death.
"No, you're not. We will hold it together until everyone is here. I can one-shot the Vertex, but that will be pointless since I had everyone with me. We will kill those monsters in a group of numbers. Two people with fairly average strength like you will not make it, Sonoko-san. Your choice is either by gaining a super-secret cheat code with a price and sacrifice or fighting them in your own strength. Simply said, dangerous shortcut or a safe yet dangerous long way."
The words uttered by Eleonora caused them to feel depressed a bit, but Sumi and Sonoko also understand that they will not likely make it by themselves. Since everyone, even Gin is here, they could do it relatively better. Going in a fight with the endless numbers of Stardust and a powerful being like Vertex with just two people that don't have any wide-range attack or AoE is literally suicide.
'Eleonora-san's right. We can't do it with just two people, not to mention I also doubt the upgrade that Taisha did to our Hero System. We cannot rely too much on them anymore.'
Sonoko thought while swinging her multi-pronged Sankaku Yari spear to many Stardusts that came on her. Eleonora also helped by using her magic, stalling until everyone's come, and telepathy informed her lovers about the situation.
[Everyone, Sumi-san and Sonoko-san is with me. I will send you my current location, come here and help them. Be fast and safe as possible while avoiding many of these smaller Vertex-like that came at you in a group.]
[Those are Stardust, it's easy to deal with, and don't worry, we will come as fast as possible.]
[Okay, then we will meet here. Ten minutes tops.]
[Yes!]
As Eleonora dismissed the telepathy, she told both Sumi and Sonoko.
"Sumi-san, Sonoko-san. Everyone will come here; just wait for at least ten minutes."
"Yes!"
Getting the response she expected, Eleonora then launched a binding spell on the big Stardust that shot a bolt of lightning earlier, causing the boss monster to growl in rage. According to what Eleonora knew from Gin, there is also a Stardust that has a big size or giant, instead of just small, so she assumed the one that tried to shoot attack earlier is also Stardust.
"This thing is also a Stardust…?"
Eleonora said with a grimaced face. Sumi and Sonoko nodded at Eleonora's question as they knew it was strange for the young bluenette since it was her first time seeing it. The heroes knew the strength of that Stardust was nowhere close to Vertex, but it still gave them a goosebump all over.
"Yes, Eleonora-san. That thing is also a Stardust. It will give us a bit of challenge if we choose not to use the upgrade and new power Taisha provides, but we also understand that there is nothing free if we decided to use that."
"Alright, then I will wipe the big papa Stardust first. I will also temporarily give you an Area of Effects type of skills. Here, please use them wisely."
A dim light covered Sumi and Sonoko's bodies as they felt something within that made them stronger than before. Eleonora smiled at them and continued to deal with two big Stardusts, one bound by her magic chain and the other hiding underground like a worm.

"No worries. Let's do it."
After saying that, Eleonora got closer to the big Stardust flying above them and did a hand seal while saying the attack's name, which she would unleash to the enemy in front of her right now. She did a bit embarrassed at that but had no choice.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
An enormous-sized fireball was launched from Eleonora's mouth when she did that, targeting the big Stardust in front of her and leaving the monster no choice but to take the attack of it. The fireball is powerful enough to vaporize and cause extensive burns to the big Stardust.
Seeing the nice burn of her enemy, Eleonora smirked.
"Nice. Now, onto the next one."
Without further delay, the young bluenette looked at some of the holes made by the giant worm Stardust left earlier and got an idea by unleashing another attack by using a fire element to burn the worm into a crisp. She then did the hand seals and released the technique.
"Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!"
Yelled that Eleonora's breathes flame dragons that went one of the holes and spreading within it, trying to find the target of the burn. A few seconds later, she heard a growl of scream in pain, confirming the death of the giant worm Stardust into the crips and making Eleonora smile in satisfaction knowing that.
"Good, that settles the big ones. Now—huh? What is that?"
Eleonora's eyes suddenly spotted a thing that moved slowly that got closer to her, yet it was still far enough for normal human eyes. It's a ring connected by six spikes; five were orange. It has another ring slightly out of the main ring and what almost seems to be a claw sticking out.
Using her [Observe], Eleonora glared at that thing.
"I see… so you're the one called Vertex, huh. Time to decimate you without leaving any pieces."
