Chapter 3: Time to show them what I got
Ozpin and Glynda had stood at the top of the cliff, checking in the students and seeing if they all had paired up.
"Well it seems that the last of the students have been paired, Nora Valkyrie and Li Ren" said Glynda as she looked at her scroll.
"Oh that poor boy. I don't see how they get along with each other. At least it's better than Miss Nikos group" as she moved to a different screen. "I don't care what that boys resume said. He's not ready for this kind of training." She closed her scroll and began to head back to Beacon while saying
"At this rate, they be at the temple in a few minutes." She continued to walk but saw that Ozpin wasn't following her. "Mr. Ozpin. Are you alright."
Ozpin just looked at his scroll and said "It would seem we have an uninvited guest with our students."
"What do you mean" questioned Glynda as she walked back over to him. He showed his scroll to her and showed Ruby and Weiss together with a boy that had never seen before. "Who is that boy."
"I've no idea. I checked our records and he's not on the list. I don't know if he wondered in by accident or what but it would seem that Miss Rose just found him, lying on the ground. It would also seem that he's joined Miss Ruby Rose and Miss Schnee. He and Miss rose seem to get along fine but Miss Rose and Schnee's bickering seem to be getting to him."
"What do you want me to do" asked Glynda
"Let's wait. This is still their time to make their own teams so its best to let them be. But something also has me wondering."
"What is it" asked Glynda.
"Upon seeing the three together, they ran into some Grimm. But the boy doesn't seem to have any weapons, and yet he ran up to a Ursa like he wasn't afraid but something seems to have put him off. They may not see it but he seems to be troubled by something but I don't know what. So I want to see what it could be. I'm also curious if he can hold himself up in a battle." Glynda looked at him like he was crazy but he had never stirred her wrong before so she decided to just wait and see who this mysterious boy was.
Emerald forest
Rex and Ruby were sitting on the ground while Weiss was constantly pacing back and forth saying that "this was the way to the temple" or "no this is the way." Ruby was just playing with sticks and leaves but Rex was still contemplating everything that just transpired the past half hour or so.
"Ok so I am in a different world with no nanties, these creatures called Grimm are in this forest, and when I tried to cure one, there weren't any nanites in it. Nothing at all. And that tree. Nanites were even in plants and trees but there weren't in it either. So, it has to be true that I've been sent to a different world. But why. What am I suppose to do here" he kept thinking until his thoughts were canceled by a loud and annoyed Ruby saying,
"Why can't you just admit that you have no idea where we're going" said Ruby.
"Because I know exactly where we're going. We're... going to... the forest temple" stuttered Weiss
"Nice save there, Ice queen" retorted Rex.
"Oh shut up. You don't know where we are either" snapped Weiss
"Maybe not, but at least I'm not trying to act like I know everything" snapped Rex at Weiss.
"What's that suppose to mean" yelled Weiss.
"Argh. Why are you so bossy all the time" yelled Ruby.
"I'm not bossy. Don't say that stuff."
"Yea, ya kind of are, Ice Queen" said Rex.
"Stop calling me that" screamed Weiss
"Then stop acting like you're prefect" said Rex with annoyance in his voice.
"I'm not perfect. Not yet at least. But I'm still leagues better than you two" as Weiss began to walk away.
Rex was frustrated at this girl. Acting all high and mighty. He'd had a right kind to put her in her place and show that she's not the best but he knew better than that. He then heard Ruby said sadly "You don't even know me."
Rex looked back at her and could see the sad look on her face. He put his hand on her shoulder, reassuring her not to feel down. Ruby looked up at him and could see he was trying to cheer him up. She didn't know him and vice versa but she knew that they would become good friends in the future. They then got up and followed Weiss.
TimeSkip
Rex, Ruby, and Weiss were continuing on their journey but suddenly a giant pterodactyl like thing came after them and they ended up clinging to its feathers in an effort to get out of the forest and find out where they were going. An idea that Rex thought of as to know where they were going.
"I told you this was a bad idea" yelled Weiss as she, Ruby, and Rex clinging to the feathers of a giant bird.
"We're fine. Stop worrying" screamed Ruby
"I'm well beyond worrying"
"In a good way"
"In a bad way you dolt"
"At least we're out of the forest" screamed Rex.
"I know, but I want this to stop" yelled Weiss.
"If you don't like it we can just jump" screamed Rex.
"Are you insane" cried Weiss
"A little bit" said Rex as he and Ruby let go of the bird.
"Oh you insufferable little imps" cried Weiss as she was left behind, clinging to the giant bird.
The forest Temple
Yangs POV
"Blake did you hear me. What should we do" I asked until I saw Blake was pointing up. I looked up at what she was pointing at and saw my little sister falling with what looked like another boy. I saw that he grabbed hold of her and she held onto him tight. I saw another boy flying at fast speeds, crash into them and land in the trees with a big thud.
Third person POV
Rex and Ruby were coming close to the ground and Rex knew he had to save them both from dying. He flew over to Ruby and grabbed hold of her and planned to use his Punk busters to land. He activated his nanites and was about to make them until, from out of nowhere, a blonde haired boy, with armored plates on him,
came in and hit him and ruby and they all crashed into the trees.
"I hate this world already" thought Rex as he was dangling in the tree. He got loose and made his way down the tree, as did Ruby. He looked up and saw some people had hadn't seen before.
"Are you guys ok" said a voice Rex hadn't heard before. He raised his head at the voice and saw that there were a few people he hadn't seen before.
Before him was a girl with black hair, a black and white uniform, black and purple stockings, with a bow on top of her head.
The girl on the other hand has short orange hair with turquoise eyes. She Her clothing is a mix and match of some sort, with different colors and themes. She wears a collared black vest that ends at her waist. Her signature emblem, a hammer with a lightning bolt, can be found on the back. Under the vest are two layers of clothing, colored red and light-blue respectively. On the back of her skirt, she wears a turquoise bow that matches her eyes. She also wears a white sleeveless top that forms a tiny heart shape between her cleavage and collarbone, with a white detached sleeve on each arm. She wears matching pink fingerless gloves on each hand, a pink skirt that starts at the waist and ends mid-thigh, and her shoes are a mix of pink and white with pink laces, displaying her emblem on their soles. She also wears armor that begins in the middle of the shoulder and neck and ends by the waist.
The boy is a male teenager with long black hair tied into a ponytail that ends midway down his back. There is a magenta streak on the left side of his hair. His eyes match the streak in his hair, and his clothing appears to be influenced by Chinese wears a dark green, diagonally-buttoned, long-sleeved tailcoat that is red on the inside, with black and gold trimming and pink cuffs. The trimming goes down the right side of his torso and forms a black color scheme seems to be influenced to some degree by the lotus flower, which is his emblem. He wears a black, long-sleeved shirt beneath the suit, and light-tan pants with black shoes.
The girl possessed a pale white complexion with lilac eyes and bright golden hair worn loose that faded to pale gold at the tips with a cowlick sticking out at the top. Her outfit consisted of a tan jacket that bares her lower stomach, with golden brown piping and short, puffy sleeves with black cuffs that feature two gold buttons. Underneath this, she wears a low cut yellow crop top with her emblem on the left breast in black. She also wears a brown belt covered by a pleated brown piece of material reaching from hip to hip around the back of her waist, with her emblem, a burning heart, emblazoned on the right-most pleat in gold. Underneath this is a longer, white, asymmetrical piece of material reaching to her knee on the right side, as well as a pair of black mini-shorts. She wears a pair of brown, knee-high boots and orange over-the-knee socks, with the right sock pushed down just below the knee. A gray bandana is tied around her left knee and a orange infinity scarf and a pair of black fingerless gloves complete her outfit. To Rex, she was pretty.
Rex then saw Ruby fall out of the tree. As she stood up, he heard the blonde girl say "Ruby". Ruby stood up and realized the blonde saying "Yang" as she held her arms about as to hug the girl.
Then from out of nowhere, the orange headed girl popped up and said "Nora". "Well that just happened" thought Rex.
Rex then looked over Ruby's shoulder's and realized a giant scorpion looking thing chasing a girl. He saw that she had red hair, green eyes and looked like was was wearing an old fashioned dress wear, like they had back in medieval times.
Rex was lost in thought until he heard the blonde girl yell,
"I can't take it anymore. Could everyone just calm down before something crazy happens" as her eyes turned red. Rex flinched at her outburst and thought
"Shesh. She's scary. Not bad looking though" he thought as he was still scared by her outburst.
Ruby poked her sister's shoulder and looked up at the sky, as he did as well, saying "Umm Yang."
As everyone looked in the sky, they saw Weiss, hanging onto a claw of the big bird from earlier. As she clung onto the claw for dear life, they heard her say "how could you two leave me" screamed Weiss as she hanged onto for dear life.
"We said jump, Ice Queen, but you didn't listen" yelled Rex. Hearing his voice, everyone looked at Rex and wondered who he was.
Yang decided to ask "Hey. Who are you. Don't think we've met, handsome" said flirted Yang.
Rex blushed at her nickname for him and said "Names Rex Salazar."
"Cool name. I'm Yang Xiao Long. But you can call me Yang."
While they were talking, Nora interrupted them saying "Hey guys. That girl is falling."
Everyone looked up at the sky and saw Weiss was falling. Rex ran to try and catch he until he saw that same boy from before jump out of the trees and catch her saying
"Don't worry, I will catch her." a teenage boy said with confidence.
Jumping off the tree that he and his first friend, Ruby Rose was in, Jaune Arc soared through the air to catch a girl his age who almost fell to her death.
As the only son of the Arc family caught Weiss, time seemed to slow down as they looked at into each others eyes before gravity took affect affect and made Weiss fall on top of Jaune.
"My hero" she sat sarcastically said.
"My back" said the poor boy.
"Ouch. Tough luck there man" thought Rex.
"Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!" Yang said sarcastically, when suddenly she notice the Deathstalker that was chasing Jaune and Pyrrha appeared.
"Not if I can help it!" Ruby shouted, recklessly running at the Nevermore Grimm and to Rex's shock, she shot her High Caliber Sniper Scythe, Crescent Rose, to launch her self at it on only to be knocked down.
"Don't worry totally fine." She said sounding unsure before shooting at the Deathstalker and running away from the Nevermore with Yang trying to meet her halfway.
All seemed to be well on till the Nevermore fired its feathers at the red cloaked girl, making her hood get caught and Yang stop. "Ruby get up!" Yang shouted, trying to help her baby sister. "I'm trying!" Ruby replied until the Deathstalker was raising its golden stinger to strike. She raised Her arms wating for the end but it never came. Until she heard the sound of a ice blast coming her way.
She opened her eyes and saw that the grimm was incased in an ice block.
After Ruby was saved, she turned and see her future partner, Weiss, walking up to her with her rapier in her left hand. As soon as she made eye contact with her, she began to lecture and scold her simultaneously.
"You are so childish!" Weiss scolded.
"Weiss...?" Ruby began to speak but was cut off as Weiss continued lecturing her.
"And dimwitted, And hyperactive. And don't even get me started on your fighting style and I suppose I can be a bit difficult but if we are going to do this we're going to have to do this together so if you quit trying to show off I'll be nicer." Weiss finished as she still stared at Ruby forgetting about the icy blue moth man next to her.
"I'm not trying to show off I want you to know that I can do this." Ruby replied looking down a bit at the last part.
"You're fine." Weiss said walking away from the scythe wielding girl.
"Normal knees...," Ruby mumbled as she sighed in relief while Yang rushed up to her and hugs her in joy.
"So happy you're okay!" Yang shouted in relief as she looked at her younger half-sister. The two half-sisters looked up at the sky as they saw the Nevermore still flying overhead and roaring.
"Hey guys that thing is circling back around." Jaune stated, pointing at the Nevermore.
"Look, there's no sense in dilly-dallying. Our objective is right in front of us." Weiss pointed out.
"She's right. Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the Cliffs. There's no point in fighting these things." Ruby agreed with the Ice Queen.
"Run and live - that's an idea I can get behind." Jaune agreeing with his first friend's idea as grabbed a white Rook piece while Ruby took a white Knight piece. Then everyone turned tail and ran for the cliffs.
They continued to run until they came upon old ruins and hide behind the pillars. They saw the bird perch itself on an old tower, near the cliffs. It roared very loud and seemed to be defending itself. "Well that's just great. Now how are we suppose to get out of here."
Rex was getting tired of this forest and this supposed world. He was still wondering what he was doing on a world he had no idea of and why was he there. The more he thought on it, the more he realized that if he was on a different world then he was far away from his friends and family.
He then knew that whoever it was that sent him here, took him away from his family and friends. He then heard the people he met try and formulate a plan to take down the oversized bird. Rex then figured this was his chance. To let off some steam. He already had a bad day and he needed something to punch.
"I think I know a way" he told Yang and Ruby as he donned his goggles. He then proceeded to walk out into the open.
"Rex what are you doing. You'll get yourself killed" screamed Yang.
"Don't worry about me. A bird that big can't kill me. Believe it" was all Rex said as he walked out into the open.
"Listen up everyone. Leave big bird to me. He's mine. I've had a bad day today and I've got an itch to punch something and big bird up there will do. Got that" yelled Rex as he began to yell the bird listened to the sound.
It saw Rex and began flying down towards him. Everyone looked at him like he was crazy. Like he was committing suicide by letting it fly at him. Rex readied himself and said "Here we go". What happened next was something, no one saw coming.
They saw that Rex grew two giant orange and silver fists right out of his hands.
And with one strong punch, he uppercutted the big bird into the sky.
The Nevermore flew back and landed on its back. Rex then charged at the bird and launched himself by pushing off the ground with his fists and landed on its stomach and tried to punch it, but the Nevermore reacted sooner.
It flipped itself upside right and knocked Rex off its stomach. It then flapped its wings and took off.
"Oh no, you don't" chanted Rex as he formed his Boogie pack
And chased after the bird. He flew as fast as he could and landed on the back of the bird. He lost the wings and formed his Smack Hands again. And in a giant punch, he hit the nevermores back and it groaned in pain as it lost its flight and came crashing down, far from the others, behind some trees. While the nevermore was down, Rex figured this would be his time to see if he really was in a different world, and far from his friends. He put his hand on the bird's body and forced his nanites into its body. And what he found was..... Nothing.
"So its true. I am on a different world" he said as he felt the bird begin to move.
"Ugh, persistent thing isn't it" as he jumped away from the bird but stumbled down as he landed. He turned around to see the nevermore slowly begin to get up. He could hear it grunt in pain from all the blows he landed on it. He gathered his thoughts and got up from the ground as he then began to think,
"If this thing isn't an EVO then I can't cure it. Ugh, hope this wasn't a person. I don't want a dead body on my conscience" he said. He didn't want to kill it since he wasn't for kill things. Throughout the life he could remembered, he cured Evos but he didn't kill them. But know, he didn't have a choice but to take it down. He formed his punk busters
And jumped towards the bird. He knew he had to kill it since it could possibly harm the others, So he knew what to do. He formed his sword and in one giant swipe, he chopped the Nevermore's head off.
He landed on the ground and then he saw the the Grimm began to disappear into dust. He then heard some noises and screaming happening where the others were. He then formed his wings and headed towards them.
Ruby's POV (during rex's battle)
I couldn't believe my eyes right now. Me and everyone else just saw Rex made giant metals fists pop out of his arms and was going toe to toe with the Grimm. I didn't believe that when he told me he had a weapon, he meant in his body. This was sooo cool. I had never seen a weapon like this before. I had so many questions to ask him when he was done.
But my thoughts we're stopped when we heard stomping from behind us. It was that giant Grimm scorpion again. "We've got company" I yelled to my sister and everyone else.
Third person POV
"Shouldn't we help Rex" said Yang as she and other turned to Rex, who was currently flying with the Grimm bird and punched the Grimm in the back and saw it crash land away from them.
"I think he'll be ok" said Blake.
The two groups then began to charge at the scorpion. They slashed, shot, and hammered the thing and it seemed to be wearing the creature down. Ruby charged at the Grimm, jumped up and tried the slash through its tough parts, but she couldn't. Her scythe wasn't sharp enough to cut through.
The scorpion then hit her back, making her crash into a tree. It began to run towards her as it raised its stinger in the air. "Ruby" yelled Yang as she tried to run and save her sister but she didn't make it in time. Ruby closed her eyes as she waited for it to get her, but she didn't feel anything. She opened her eyes and saw that the stinger was close to her face but was stopped by a certain boy.
"Big mistake there, pinchy. No one is gonna get stung. Not on my watch" said Rex as he built his Smack hands and was holding the stinger. He pulled the scorpion's tail and used all his strength to pull it over his head and slammed it on the ground.
Then he jumped up onto it belly and formed his BFS
and cut off its tail. It landed near the group, as they were amazed by his builds. They struggled to try and cut through the stupid bug and he cut through it with ease. Just who was this boy, they wondered.
Rex looked down at the bug, pointed his sword at its throat, and said "Any last words." All the Grimm did was groan in pain. "Didn't think so" as he raised his sword up and sliced the bug in half.
Rex jumped down and pushed his goggles up. He then saw the two groups running towards him with surprised looks on their faces. They stopped by him as he said to them in his cocky attitude
"Ladies and gentleman of the jury, I'm Rex Salazar. Pleasure to meet ya."
