Chapter 3: factions
As I'm unconscious I hear an engine, not a modern engine but an old outdated engine but I get the feeling that no car can outrun any modern car. The car looked like a 1919 Franklin car modified to leave all the famous car brands in its dust and for some reason I felt like I have known this my whole life. All of a sudden I feel like a presence is watching as if trying to figure out everything about me trying to assess my strength and intellect and the eyes just stopped judging me as if accepting me as an individual. Then a voice spoke one with so much authority and superiority that made the space shake and made the fiery loud engine calm and silent. A huge smoke that looks to be made of mist moves closer and closer towards me and then slowly gets closer and solidifies into a man wearing all black.
This man was extremely handsome but he also felt like he had no presence at all. This feeling of no presence shocked me because of how could someone look so good but have no presence. That made me feel like the world felt that this man was too busy to deal with the difficulties of the mortal realm. I remember that Isiah said that only the extraordinary killers could display such power and authority. For some reason I don't know I felt like even they couldn't exert such power as this man has been doing.
The man gazed at me and rubbed the hood of the old fashioned car but to me, it looked more like a master petting a pet. " The first car has been with me for so long that I can not remember" After he said that it brought me out of my thoughts like thunder on a quiet night. " Are you jack the ripper?" I asked because this is the only man I think could show so much superiority above me but he didn't answer immediately but instead put his head down as if in deep thinking. " Yes, I jack the ripper who terrorized Landon years ago".
After he said that it confirmed my theories that the standing in front of me is jack the ripper a legend. He walked towards me slowly and said " Have no fear I will not hurt one of my last three descendants when my bloodline is so thin". He then said " I am here to discuss the curses that follow the powers of my bloodline". This unsettled me because Isiah did not ever tell me about curses. " Curses are things that follow you and your descendants for eternity". " The curse that I'm telling you about is the one where we can love others who are crazy about love to an unhealthy degree". What he just said took me a few minutes to sink in and to really think about it.
I think he is just blowing up this topic to scare me he has to be right? " You think I am lying but I myself was killed by my wife because I was kissed by an old lady on the cheeks after helping her across the street". " What made you date her if she is so crazy about love in the first place". " Well, that's why it is called a curse because you both will feel attracted to each other almost obsession like in my case". " Matter of fact both your cousins have found a crazy lover or should I say partner in crime". " Also don't worry about not finding one because you will even when you're not looking also because everyone in our family is very handsome or beautiful".
"The moment you two confess your love to each other a tattoo of a scythe will appear on both of your chests". The more think about it he is just saying that if I ever cheat or interact with the opposite sex I will most likely be killed. " So this yandere woman is only type I will be able to love?". " Yes, whenever you or the other party fall in love and you do something wrong you will die".
" I guess you already know about the car that is in front of you will be yours in the future so take good care of her and if you wish to you can change your car to another type or brand more modern". This is good because I doubt I can deal with this old-styled car for long.
In this dark and mysterious place, I hear someone's voice though my mind tells it's Isiah's voice calling me. "Nox wake up I'm sorry for hitting you so hard". Now I know I'm here in this place but I feel a stinging pain on my face as if I am being slapped very hard on the face. " Am I allowed to leave before they injure me in their attempt to wake me up?". " Yes hurry up and get back to the real world before something happens".
I feel sleepy all of the sudden but that shouldn't happen since I'm already knocked or I at least hope so. I jumped up sucking in a huge amount of air that seemed to scare everyone watching even the ones said to be responsible for the incident. Isiah looks at me and said " I'm so sorry bro I knew. you were under the influence of the pheromones but I still hit you so hard". I feel extremely bad for him to go through so much trouble and feeling bad for me so I will just forget this time.
He grabbed by the shoulders and helped me stand up and watched me in case I fell and lost balance. He looked at the other teenagers from the table earlier and shaped his head at them. " Nox are you going to attack me randomly again or are we cool?". The professor or teacher that was chasing me came in with a worried look on his face. " Nox we need to get you to the lab to make sure you are okay".
He then had to men escort me on to a hospital moveable bed to do his diagnosis. He then brought me into this huge cylinder with a weird looking fluid floating as if it had a mind of its own. This place gave me chills after just imagining what type of experiments they could do with the equipment alone. I dived into the tube of liquid and then I just waited in there watching the doctor type on the computer. After having typed for 25 minutes or so a paper came out the computer which I assume to have my results.
Having getting dressed in all black clothes with streaks of light blue I walked up to the doctor to get the results of my visit. The doctor looked at me and said "Nox there is nothing wrong with you except the bruises on your body from your fight but healed in the chamber". He then looked at me and said " So have you decided what fraction you will lead?". Another thing someone has not told me the author is pissing me off it's like he's making it up on the spot. "No, what are these factions you are speaking of?".
"Factions are what decide your future in our business and detrimental to your future improvement in our jobs". The three are the shadow league, monster blood, and the oldest faction on the campus the white piranhas. The shadows run assassination jobs for the leaders of the world. The monster's blood is the one who fights in the army disguised as normal soldiers to help fight. The white piranhas are those who hide in the government as high ranking members.
