Chapter 2: TWO

Amelia felt her phone buzzing in her pocket. She felt relieved when she read the caller's ID. It read 'Lauren', her father's personal secretary who currently works for her as well. She picked it up.

"Hello?" The woman on the other line spoke up.

"What is it, Lauren? What's with the location?" Amelia said, waiting under the building where she lived with her friend.

"Have you done what I asked you to?" Lauren asked, ignoring the question.

"Yeah."

"Listen carefully, look for a black van around you. Once you do, get inside. And be quick because that guy has set up many men and they might be not too far."

"Got it." And with that, she hung up. "Hey Evelyn, do you see any black van around here?" She asked with her eyes still on her phone. "Evelyn?" She turned to her side to find her friend missing.

'What the? She was here a minute ago....' She thought, looking around, and found the younger coming out of a shop across the street and waving a hand at her as if nothing ever happened.

"This girl..." Amelia mumbled as she crossed the street. Once she reached her, Evelyn spoke up.

"Hey! Want some gum?" She said offering Amelia some, which made her stare at the other woman in disbelief.

'𝘈𝘭𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵. 𝘚𝘩𝘦'𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘦.' Evelyn thought and then continued.

"So you don't want the gum..." She said with an awkward chuckle, knowing what's waiting for her.

"When will you ever learn to tell me before going somewhere?!" Amelia scolded her "You scared me to death and-" Evelyn didn't let her finish her sentence.

"Why would you get scared if I'm missing? I'm not a kid and it's not like I got kidnapped or something." She rolled her eyes.

"That's because Lauren just called and she said that men are looking for us and that we can't tell that they're not around. "

"So it was Lauren on the phone," She said "You were too busy to notice me calling your name for so long because of that- I get it now."

Amelia gave up arguing and heaved out a sigh.

"Whatever, we're supposed to get in a van and the color's Black, so look for it."

"You mean like the one in front of us?" Evelyn asked, pointing at the van parked in front of them.

It surprised Amelia that she didn't notice it earlier. She turned her gaze towards Evelyn when she found a suspicious-looking man not too far behind the latter, making his way towards them. And when she inspected, she found out that he was one of the men set up to get rid of them.

Meanwhile, Evelyn noticed some people sitting in the van, which they assumed was theirs.

"Hey Amie, I don't think it's the right-" But before she could finish her sentence, Amelia dragged her to the van.

"Get in, quick! They're here!" She said before pushing Evelyn in the passengers and got inside the front seat, beside the driver. It didn't take more than a second for Amelia to realize that they were in the wrong van as she saw some men seated there.

But it was too late, they heard gunshots from outside the vehicle, which meant that they were in trouble.

"It's the wrong van!" Evelyn said before she realized she had landed on a man's lap because of Amelia pushing her. She quickly got up, embarrassed. She had to admit, the guy was just as startled.

"But there's no time for that now!" Amelia said as she pulled out a gun from her pocket, placed it on the head of the driver before she said, "Drive. Now."

"Who are you?!" Asked one of them, but neither Amelia nor Evelyn bothered to answer him.

"Get their phones! Don't just sit there- where's your gun?!" She yelled at Evelyn.

"And you!" She turned to the driver, "Start driving or you'll have your friends see your head explode!"

The man freaked out but started the engine- who wouldn't when there's a gun placed over their head?

Amelia instructed him about where to go and Evelyn got the other men's gadgets by threatening them.

In all that chaos, Amelia found the driver oddly familiar. But there was no time for that at the moment, so Amelia kept instructing him. Both Amelia and Evelyn could tell that they terrified the men.

"I asked you to take the first right you- ugh! What's your name? " Amelia asked the one who was driving as she was so done calling him an idiot whenever he didn't follow her instructions properly.

"Liam."

"Liam what?"

"L-liam Johnson."

He turned to answer her and was about to crash into a tree on the roadside. Luckily, Amelia noticed it and jumped to the other side and turned the wheel, which made them both bump on to each other. Amelia hissed in pain, "Listen up, Liam. I asked you your name, not to look at my face. Gosh, you almost got us into an accident! Now take left."

"Where are you taking us?!" Asked the guy who had questioned them before.

"Shut up or you'll be the first one to die here," Evelyn said, pointing the gun at him.

"Jeez, you don't have to threaten them like that."

"But he's annoying," Evelyn complained.

"You're annoying too, do I point a gun at you for that? Why don't you just answer him?" Amelia said before turning to the man "And you, we're not taking you anywhere, you are the ones who're coming with us." She said, leaving the men even more confused.

"Aren't you here to hurt us then?" They heard a deep, nervous voice from the back seat.

"Why would we?"

Evelyn said, "What do you think we're gonna be doing with all..." She started counting the men and then continued, ".....Six of you, huh?"

"So you're not gonna hurt us?" repeated the tall guy among them.

"Nope. If you ain't informing anyone about this, that is. If you do, we'll leave it to our guns then." Amelia replied with an innocent smile across her face.

Silence filled the air until the man beside Evelyn spoke up, "So you do not know about who we are?"

"Nah," Evelyn said before she turned to him. "You, I've seen you on TV- are you some sort of celebrity?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

He gulped.

"Why ain't you answering me? C'mon, I'm not gonna shoot you."

"Why do you want to know his name? We don't even know you. And whoever you are, what you are doing is gonna get you into great trouble." One of the three men seated on the extreme back seats protested.

"That's because if we know at least a few things about you, it'll be easier for us to send you home." Amelia said, "If you wish to get lost somewhere as a group then, you don't have to tell us anything."

The men looked at each other until one of them spoke up, "So you'll leave us if we introduce ourselves to you?"

"Not exactly. She's the one who's planning to help you." Evelyn said, pointing at Amelia.

"And that's because you all look innocent. Now, will you please let us know something about you?"

"Who are you, people?" asked another man.

"Looks like we'll be doing the introduction first- Hi, we don't trust you enough so you're not gonna be knowing our names." Evelyn rolled her eyes at Amelia as she continued, "Actually, we're supposed to be in another vehicle and accidentally got in yours and since it was an emergency, we had to 'borrow' your van. Now, if you guys cooperate and tell us the information we're asking about you, it might be helpful for us to send you back to where you came from." Amelia stopped to catch her breath "Questions?"

The men were silent and Amelia took that as a 'no'.

"Good," She said "So, let's begin, shall we?- The one who's driving is Liam Jones-"

"Liam Johnson," he whispered, loud enough for the woman beside him to hear it.

"Right. Liam Johnson. Now take that U-turn." She said, "What about you?" She pointed at another man.

"Lucas." He said in a low voice.

"Lucas what?" Amelia questioned him again.

'Shit,' he thought, 'It would be safe for us as long as they don't know us...'

"Lucas Eriksen."

Amelia turned to the one beside him. "You- your full name?"

"James Moore."

"And the one next to Mr. Moore?"

"How come knowing our full names to be helpful to let us free?" He questioned her back, "You're the ones who barged into our vehicle."

"That's because we don't trust you and your names sound oddly familiar to me." Evelyn answered before quickly questioning him back, "Now be honest, aren't you people celebrities?"

"Yes, we are! Now, will you please let us go because we're all gonna be in great trouble if we don't?" Said another one of them.

Evelyn chuckled at the man's tone at the back of her head, which she found silly, whereas Amelia just let out a sigh.

"Finally, a moment of honesty- Google them," said Amelia, and so Evelyn did.

"..... James... Moore.." She mumbled as she did what she was asked to with one hand and her gun on the other, which rested on the head of the man beside her.

Her eyes widened as she read the first thing that appeared on her screen.

"MZD?!" She said, looking at them before turning back at her screen, not believing what she'd just read.

"Stop," Amelia said, and the vehicle screeched to a stop.

Everyone except Amelia looked out their windows to find themselves in front of an old godown.

"Get down. All of you."
