Chapter 2: Underground

The thick stench of sex hit her nose as she pushed open the double doors of the Inn, each individual turning their heads to see the newcomer who had distrusted their 'work'.

Waitresses smiled as they passed her balancing the thin wooden plate against their palms as they steadied the pints of larger that foamed on top. Their outfits were skimpy, tight and highly revealing and earned a few catcalls from the half awake males that toyed with their female companions.

Reluctantly she stepped inside, the heels of the boots clacking against the polished wood as she made her way to the bar. As much as she hated places like whore houses she had a job to do before she had to return back to Leader Kang.

Sighing softly she positioned herself on the half stabbed velvet stool, twirling around to face the bartender. The girl was no older than herself, around seventeen-ish but what she could gather; and had her bright blonde hair pulled back into a decorative bun on the back of her head. Her outfit was too as revealing as the rest of the workers but had a much more exotic approach with see through material that was dyed a light pink with an array of tassels and gems stitched into the thin material.

' Ah it been too long Widow.'

The blonde smiled as she propped her arm up on the counter gazing intently into the cloaked girls icy eyes. Resting a chin in her open palm she nibbled her bottom lip expectantly at the feared visitor.

' Aye'

Widow wasn't one for small talk and merely followed along with the exotic girls bombardment of questions.

' So, are you going to tell me?'

Her eyes furrowed dangerously as she glared at the blonde who had begun to perform her puppy eyes as an leverage over Widow, yet she remained unfazed by her actions earning a pout.

' Sunni, you gotta be more specific.'

Being a regular at the bar, though underage to drink, Widow has grown close to Sunni but due to her profession kept her at a close distance. However over the years they had bonded over her work, even extending to business partners in exchange for information.

' The gala last weekend, everyone has been talking about it but I know you was there what was it like.'

The blonde lay true to her name, she was indeed like the sun in Widows life, yet at the same time the darkened girl knew the pain beyond her words.

' You would have loved it, it was elegant and everyone from every corner of the globe came to visit for the Princess. You would have danced the night away under the moonlight with some poor boy in your grasp.'

If she was honest Widow hated the gala, there was too many people there and it made her jobs so much more harder to complete. Yet Sunni made her turn a dull night into one of fantasy with her smile. Widow knew that Sunni was born in the underground and was sold into the line of work in which she was in now. She had never once felt the sunlight upon her skin or saw the stars in the darkness or danced in silk dresses with oriental men.

' Sounds wonderful.'

Sunni's words were heavy as she spoke, fixing a green concoction together in a bottle as she delivered a male his order.

' Next time I'll bring you along.'

The words spewed out of her mouth before she could stop them, she knew that what she had just said would be impossible. The fee to get past the gatekeeper was unruly and sneaking her out would be impossible. Yet even if she knew her words would never be acted upon she could help but feel warm at the sight of her accomplices smile that graced her face.

' So what was it you needed.'

The smile had disappeared from her face as she moved along the selection of alcohol behind her, pouring the thick liquid into bulky glasses. Widow sighed as a response playing with the moistened mug mat that lay of to the side of the counter.

' A boy named Kim Taehyung, a member of one of the lowest groups in the underground known as BTS, my leads say they come here a lot so you might have some information for me.'

Sunni chuckled as the black clothed girl stared into the distance almost listening for something inaudible. In a way she admired the girl in front of her, she was free unlike herself who was forced into 'slavery' since her birth. Though despite her jealousy of the girl she never once felt inferior to her, but instead equal which made her aspire to be someone exactly like her.

' That's à hard one, BTS is made of seven boys - Korean I assume- so I can't always tell who's who. However, Taehyung's easy to point out he's kinda like the eccentric one always wears big brand clothes that are colorful beyond  belief. When I saw him around two days ago he had dyed his hair a light peach similar to candyfloss.'

Widow scoffed softly at the girls elaborate and unnecessary explanation but listened nonetheless. As she spoke her thoughts seemed to combine, creating a reasonable plan for his execution. Yet it seemed to easy, why would a member of a mafia decorate himself like bait it was unexplainable.

' So what did he do'

Sunni noticed Widows intensity as she spoke, so she quickly changed the topic in play thinking she spoke to long about the abstract boy. At heart Sunni knew that Taehyung wasn't a bad person like some people in the underground but also knew that Widow wasn't either.

' Dunno pissed Kang off though so he wants his head.'

The thought of a mere man child pissing off Kang was amusing to say the least, but it raised the question of what did he do to deserve such a boring execution. Or in Widows thoughts anyway...

' I don't see how someone like him would even be able to annoy a leader like yours, he's so quiet even with his friends. It's like a complete one eighty to his fashion sense.'

That did indeed raise more questions that Widow had yet to search the answer for, but she was distracted by the small smile that once more spread across the blondes lips.

' Now I know why you know who Kim Taehyung is.'

A faint blush rose to Sunni's cheeks as her friend spoke, yet she easily dismissed it as the clamminess in the air for being in an overheating room for too long. She could tell from underneath Widows mask that she was smirking as her thoughts ran wild.

' It's not like that okay!'

Sunni pouted placing her hands on her hips like a spoilt child not getting a new toy and Widow chuckled lightly.

' So you wouldn't care if I killed him?'

The question seemed to roll of her tongue like it was a casual thing for her to say and it wasn't. An uncomfortable silence tread over the two as Sunni continued to work, seemingly ignoring her question.

' It's your job Widow it doesn't matter about my feelings.'

For some reason those words seemed to linger in her head longer than she wanted. Widow had never gotten to experience whatever 'feelings' that her accomplice was talking about but by the pained look on her face suggested that it was good she steered clear of such things.

' Excuse me!'

The grinding screech of metal against the floor turned Widows head to the source. A male much shorter than herself had sat in the seat next to her, waving her left hand in the air.

' What can I get you sir.'

Sunni's attitude seemed to do an entire three sixty as she approached the male as she completely ignored the powerful glare of Widow as she went to serve him.

From the corner of her eye she could see widow analyzing the boy from his blonde unkept hair to his structured jawline all to the clothes that hung around his seemingly skinny figure.

' One bottle of Soju and what ever the pretty lady wants.'

He wiggles his eyebrows in Widows direction and she scoffed in disgust rolling her eyes behind her hood. With one final look at Sunni she arose abruptly from the stool waving her right hand absentmindedly.

' Don't bother.'

And with that she left, leaving Sunni alone with the blonde boy who played with the rim of his glass mug. His cheeks poofed outwards like a child as he stared into the beige mixture.

' What's her problem.'

Sunni shrugged her shoulders fully aware of the situation but not fully trusting the male who had rudely barged his way into their conversation. Though finally being able to take a look at the boy made his face almost recognizable as her eyes strayed to the small crest on the inside of his shirt.
