Chapter 3: The chime sound

Qwen sat on his bed was mesmerized at what he was seeing. It was simply impossible to fathom with a normal human mind. The extremely invasive system felt bound to his very being, like his arms and legs or his soul. It was hard to describe. He had an actual system with computerized functions in his body or mind maybe? He also had a strange feeling that he hadn't felt in many years, excitement! Qwen needed information on the status tab. The system responded by reading Qwens mind.

<The system is a tool used to assist non mana beings integrate with the mana in the universe. It is an extension of your being.

Your system functions as follows:

Strength attribute is the increase your raw physical power and body's explosive actions to put it simply.

Agility attribute increases reaction time and natural reflexes along with general speed.

Endurance is the body's resistances and natural recovery of health from injuries.

Nearly all injuries or illness can be recovered from. As long as the endurance attribute is high enough. Most wounds will heal if given enough time.

Intelligence attribute is the ability to store information, and the ability to think and process information quickly.

The power of spells and the number of time they can be used is affected by the intelligence stat. Intelligence also affects the mana pool size.

Wisdom is the the mental resistances of the mind. It affects soul and kinetic energy and increase the bodies senses by each level.>

Qwen figured that these can be increased by imputing his stat points into them during level ups or when granted SP by the system.

<The shop functions uses the current currency on earth to convert into items from the shop using via the storage system. Your storage space was explained to you.

You were granted the passive ability 'Universal Mind'.

Universal Mind is the ability to increases the speed of learning and retention of memories by 1% times the INT stat. This ability can increase the power of skills over time given enough time outside of training them. It has the ability to multi task and split the mind to perform different task at once, in the higher levels (Passive). The last thing is the rare gift starter package given to you by the GM.>

Qwen had too much to think over but it was incredibly easy to absorb the information given. The first thing Qwen did was go into his storage space with a thought and mentally selected starter pack.

*Ching*

<Rare starter pack opened>

<+1 Random rare spell book>

<+20 SP>

<+1 Rare Darkwood fire-missle staff >

<+2 Mid grade potions>

<+2 Mid grade health potions>

Qwen took out spell book and staff. The smooth dark staff looked well made and had a very slight orange glow to it. When he grabbed the staff he felt his mind become a little bit stronger and his thoughts became more clear.

When Qwen looked at his status screen he saw that his strength and agility had increase by 2 and his mana pool by 500. When he tossed the staff on the bed he noticed the feeling vanished and he didn't feel like he could punch a hole in his room wall anymore after holding the weapon. This made him instantly add his stat points into everything except INT evenly.

All of Qwens senses rose noticeably, his organs, muscles and skin hardened in real time. It was very uncomfortable but not painful. He noticed felt like reflexes increased. He could see a little further and notice more details he hadnt before. He could hear some noises further away and he could smell the body downstairs more vividly even through the door. Right now, Qwen nearly had the overall ability of an Olympic athlete with higher sense. However not as good as a great or world class Olympic athlete. That still made no difference to Qwen who currently had his shirt off in the mirror feeling confident in his now handsome features.

He began performing in place back flips and summersaults with his new reflexes. Of course, now his bed room was filled with holes when he jumped too high or fell hard into a wall. Luckily he owned his house and wasn't a renter so he didn't mind much. Otherwise, he'd be hard press to explain what was going on to a landlord. Qwen didn't care about much because for the first time in years he was having fun!

After a few hours of testing out his body and gradually stopped destroying his bedroom, he turned his attention back to the skill book he received from the system.

The skill book looked very mysterious with strange markings on it. Qwen studied the engravings on the book deeply. For some reason they mesmerized him.

He copied all of the engraving on a separate sheet of paper. Then opening the book, he did the same thing for every page until he got to the last page and the book disintegrated into a burst of light that went into his chest.

<You have learned the spell branch atmospheric manipulation, Atmokinesis level 1>

<The user can control the atmosphere 5 meters around himself. The higher the levels the more of the atmosphere around the user that can be controlled. The power of the ability grows with each level.>

Qwen was stunned silly and checked ove this new status several times. Opening it and closing it mentally to make sure what he was seeing was happening his mouth gaping. He was like a toddler finding a new toy.

<Universal Mind is the ability to increases the speed of learning and retention of memories by 1% times the INT stat. This ability can increase the power of skills over time given enough time outside of training them. (Passive)>

He had all kinds of spells at his disposal now. He tested out the safest sounding spell first, fog. The cast the spell mentally. At the same time, Qwen tried to remember the feeling of the spell being cast. "Fog!" He didn't he need to shout but he did anyway, it was a way for his brain to process what was happening. Suddenly around him a thick fog filled the house instantly nearly instantly. Qwen couldn't see a thing inside. He couldn't sense anything outside of the fog either.

The fog lasted a while as in a whole 10 minutes. During that time Qwen sat on his bed and looked over his system. He noticed something for the first time in the corner if his vision ther was a timer. The timer was counting down. The small letter and numbers read:

'Tutorial Ends: 364:18:47:30...29...28...27'

What the hell?! In all of his excitement he forgot the tutorial was up in a year. He had no idea what that meant but being told to 'survive' usually meant something bad was coming.

He needed a plan of action. He went downstairs to get some food. His appetite spiked suddenly and he craved carbs. He went downstairs and made 7 Turkey sandwiches with a gallon on milk then guzzled the food down in records time. Now that he was full, Qwen went to his computer to brainstorm. He began probing the net for ways solve his problems.

Unfortunately, all of his current issues were only stories of fictional light novels and stories about being reincarnated or transported. Many of them involved systems so he had gained a lot of knowledge of the fantasy stories that are not so fantasy any more.

While surfing online he was also learned he was memorizing everything he'd come across. His Universal Mind ability was working over time. He processed and retained information 7 times more than any other human on the planet. He would only have to read things once to begin grasping ideas and concepts before gaining full understanding. He had many ideas and concepts on magic theory and what mana was.

He looked over physics, scientific theory, history, and various languages among all other kinds of information. For hours Qwen absorbed everything he had come across like a sponge. Excitement fill Qwens heart. He could learn anything on earth so long as he read and studied the material some.

Once finished, he began to process all he new material and make a to-do list. He needed to solve countless issues that was growing on his list. He was completely unsure how he'd convince the world he wasn't a lunatic and that something big was coming but he didn't know what. So he surfed the net for hours looking for answers.

Qwen was sensible and knew that he couldn't fight all of these monsters alone so he was going to need some help to stop them.

Qwen figured that for starters he needed to give himself time. He needed to level his skills and find a way to gain levels and stat points. He still needed to study the engravings he obtained form the skillbook to try to figure out if anything would come of it. He would try to secure an massive income as soon as possible. Without money, people simply don't listen to you. Then an idea hit him like a light bulb turning on. He already had a means of income.

According to the system he was an intermediate coder which showed up under his Innate traits list. He seen many other traits he had gained throughout his life.

The first three triats were the most prominent. Although basic driving and cooking was useful they weren't immediately needs. The thing he read about systems from fictional characters is that usually, even basic skills can be leveled up once learned. He frowned a bit looking at the coding skills because Qwen felt that it should be perfect. He was at the top of his class when coding software in his college and one of the top in the country.

Yet here the system is showing that his coding could still improve. How was he only intermediate though?bNot expert? Qwens pride had taken a major hit because he prided himself on his coding abilities. Looking inside of his brain he began studying everything he knew about coding. He kept studying coding for a several hours before he got a chime sound.

*ching*

<Level up to Advanced coding!>

Qwen suddenly was bombarded with a massive amounts of information. During the process there was only a slight headache but not mind wracking pain and Qwen held his due to the light throbbing pain. After the pain subsided he suddenly could feel like he the ability to access any software coding in the world.

In fact, he could literally see how to recreate any known software or how to create the same type of software and in many ways make it better! His coding or software that he created with the coding, woukd be perfected and would have no bugs or issues. However, the fact that he was now the best coder in the entire world wasn't enough for him and he didn't stop studying. Qwen kept stuffing new information into his mind for hours until he got the chime was waiting for the next morning.

*chime*
