"CAN YOU HEAR ME?..."

I flinch, my eyes blinking as Steven's face hovers over mine. "Steven," I whisper, my brain quickly gathering information. My heart jumps to life as I sit up, looking around the golden room. "We are back in the submarine?"

Steven shakes his head. "...Uh yeah. Dude, you were out for hours, though. We are almost to landfall, the Gaya Empire."

I swallow and try to slow down my bubbling hysteria. "Tell me what happened."

Steven covers his mouth and laughs, his chubby body shaking. "Dude. Like, I don't know how to explain everything."

"Try," I hiss.

"Okay, well, this is the first time I'm actually alone with you. You're being heavily watched, Brayja is in here like every five minutes, I swear."

I stare at Steven. "Okay.."
