Chapter 9: Let Your Wings Out
As she falls screaming for help while her life is flashing before her eyes the image of her parents wanting her to survive for the good of both clans her left eye has a blue glow. with her back emitting a black mist-like substance her wings popping out of her back she was able to fly for a second as Luna panics with no idea how to use the power she was bestowed grabs on to the side of the mountain and starts climbing back. The moment she got back up Luna said:
"What's wrong with you I could have died. You accomplished nothing other than giving me some wings that I can't use" said Luna.
"Yes, you could have died but you didn't. This accomplished what it should have you have your wings you may not be able to control them or even hide them at the moment but you have to have patience" said the old man.
They both get prepared to go down the mountain. On the way down Luna notices the black and white mist coming out of her whole body that according to the old man is residual mana from the transformation leaking out of her body.
The next day Luna is told by the old man to meditate and focus all her energy into her wings. Luna didn't know how she was going to accomplish this she started meditating like on the shows she watched as a kid.
"This isn't working I'm not made to focus there has to be another way," said Luna while frustrated.
Back in the world of the living right after Luna's demise, Max's eyes stilled full of despair not knowing what he could do Max remembered a story told to him in school. there was once a demon child in the brink of death his mother placed an amulet made out of the ashes of a phoenix once she did that her son burned into ashes one week later the kid was reborn from the same ashes. Max's eyes light up with a bit of hope before going back home.
Once he got home Jessica furiously said:
"What kind of mess did you get us into. she's dead we had one job and that was to keep her alive and use her to win the war. I'll ask again what did you do"
"She's not dead this is the same thing that happened in that phoenix legend we were taught," said Max.
"I hope you're right this is the biggest job you will ever have so don't mess up," said Jessica.
"Yes, I know this job is requested by the king himself anyway I'm going for a walk to think," said Jessica.
Back in purgatory, Luna takes a short break from a hole day of mediation to talk to the old man.
"I know you said I need to be patient but I've been at this all-day," said Luna.
"Come here, child," said the old man before placing his two fingers in her forehead.
"Oh, I see your mana seems conflicted, it's been sealed somehow," said the old man.
"My mana has been seal..."
"Darling be careful around the kitchen mom is coking diner," said Luna's mother.
"Ok mom ill be careful," said Luna while playing with her toys.
Luna continues to play with her toys in the living room. she hears something fall in the kitchen followed by a sudden scream. When Luna goes to see what happened she sees two figures arguing with her mother.
"Go seal the girl's power. kill the mother if you have to" said the man.
Luna hears this and tries to run failing to do so the man mumbles some words into Luna's ear making a purple circle appear in her chest. After that Luna sees the man suddenly conjure a ball of fire in his hand throwing it towards Luna's mother scared Luna unknowingly makes a reflective shield around her mother reflecting the fire hitting the house and burning it.
"It's my fault my mother is dead, I killed her," said Luna while crying.
