Chapter 3: The Ceremony
Valyria woke from her dream with a groan. of course she dreamed of Nicolas all night long. She blushed as she remembered all the dirty things he did to her in her dream. She mentally shook herself, now wasn't the time to think of that. She reluctantly got out of bed, and walked to her bathroom. After she was done with her shower, she dressed in her black leggings, a white fitted tshirt, and sneakers. She pulled her hair up in a loose bun, and walked downstairs to get breakfast.
As she turned the corner into the kitchen, she heard the most annoying voice on the damn planet. Stella, the pack slut, was talking to her group of girlfriends about how she would become alpha after she challenged Valyria.
"Oh you think so" said Valyria walking into the kitchen "If you're so confident, challenge me right here, and right now"
Stella laughed and said "Please, what good would that do. You're no Alpha yet. you're just a weak wannabe, that will be put in her place soon enough"
Valyria growled, and let her alpha vibes loose. Her eyes flashed gold when she said "Tell that to my wolf, I dare you"
Stella tried to stand her ground but failed miserably. She just gave her a dirty look then motioned for her friends to follow her out of the room.
Valyria smiled at her back, and sat at the dining table. James came with her usual peppermint tea with honey and lemon, and a cream cheese bagel. "It looks delicious james, thank you" she said as she took a bite out of her bagel. John walked in then, with his mate Linda.
"Linda is going to take you dress shopping today for the Ceremony. your usual clothes, well won't do" John said as he sat down waiting for james.
Valyria rolled her eyes and just shrugged.
"Its going to be so much fun, just us girls" said Linda with an excited smile.
"yea, so much fun" said Valyria sarcastically. She finished breakfast as slow as possible, not wanting to go dress shopping. She hated shopping in general, but going with Linda... she shuddered just thinking about it.
5 hours later-
Valyria had tried on 50 dresses already, and still couldn't find 'the one'. She sighed, about to give up until she saw one. It was emerald green, satin mermaid style dress. She walked over and picked it up, walking back to the dressing room. She put it on, and it fit like a glove and was perfect. It was simple but still elegant, just her style. She walked out and showed Linda.
Linda gasped, clasping her hands together "That's perfect, it's beautiful Valyria"
Valyria smiled looking at herself again in the mirror.
"Now time for shoes, and jewelry." said Linda.
"I already have the jewelry, Linda. I'm going to wear my mother's from her Alpha Ceremony" said Valyria. Linda smiled at her sympathetically and just nodded. She motioned for the stylist and asked her to find the perfect shoes to match the dress. The stylist came back moments later with emerald green satin heels.
Valyria changed back into her clothes and walked out with the dress on her arm. Linda paid for everything, and then took Valyria to get her hair and makeup done. It took them 2 hours to do everything, and she hardly recognized herself. Her hair was down, and curled with a tiara on her head. Linda drove them back to the pack house, so Valyria could finish getting ready.
Thirty minutes later she was dressed, and ready for the Ceremony. Valyria looked at the necklace. A silver wolf howling at the moon, the moon was a single emerald. A knock sounded throughout her floor, she jumped not expecting the sound. puzzled she walked to the door and opened it. Nicolas stood there in a black suit, with an emerald green tie. His eyes roamed her body, then met her gaze once again. "Hello again, Alpha" he said with a smile.
"What are you doing?" she asked confused.
"I'm going to be your escort, since you dont have a mate. I am your beta, remember"
Valyria just nodded, to stunned to say anything. He offered his arm to her and she took it. They walked out of the house and to the clearing. The whole pack stood in front a small stage, and parted to let them pass. Valyria felt judgmental stars as she walked towards the stage, but she didn't care. Soon they would all have to answer to her, and her alone. When they reached the stage and stood where they were supposed to, Kurt tapped the microphone to make sure it was on.
"Good evening, tonight we celebrate a new beginning for our pack. We alone get to witness history, for the first time we will have a lone Alpha Female to rule the pack" shocked gasps spread across the crowd, as his words sunk in. "I know it goes against everything we have been taught and know, But I am very confident that Valyria will be a strong, and fearless leader for the Red Moon pack. Now John, do you willingly give up the position as Alpha of the Red Moon pack, trusting Valyria as the new leader?"
"I do" said John reluctantly.
Kurt smiled, then turned to Valyria "Do you Valyria, take responsibility of this pack, promising to be a far and just Alpha, To fearlessly protect the pack, with your life it it comes to that?"
"I do" she said proudly.
"Now give me your hand" Valyria lifted her palm to him. Kurt reached behind him and pulled out a dagger, he sliced her palm above a silver bowl. Letting the blood pour into it. There was no need for a bandage, because of there healing abilities. Kurt turned toward the rest of the pack, and one by one they each walked up and slit their palms mixing their blood with hers. Fully accepting her as their Alpha. Stella was the last to slit her palm, but she refused saying "I refuse you as my Alpha, and challenge you for the position"
Valyria didn't even bat an eyelash. She walked calmly down off the stage, and removed her dress and necklace. She shifted into her wolf form. Her black 6 foot tall wolf toward over Stella's grey small 5 foot wolf.
'Time for you to shine Celene' said Valyria to her wolf.
'Gladly' said Celene.
Celene lunged toward Stella, tackling her to the ground. Before Stella could even react, Celenes mouth was around her throat. Celene ripped her throat out, looking down at the now lifeless wolf beneath her. She lifted her head towards her pack, and let out a growl. It was a challenge for anyone that was brave enough. They bowed down on their knees with shock, in their eyes. After she knew no one else would challenge her, she shifted back into her human form. She didn't bother putting the dress back on, as she walked back to the stage.
"Thank you all for accepting me as your Alpha, I will do my best to make you all proud. Now drink, eat, and have fun" she said with a smile. Everyone cheered, and started doing just that.
Nicolas walked over to her with her dress in his hands, and handed it to her. his eyes never leaving her body. She put it back on, and smiled at him. "Thank you" she said.
"You were truly amazing, I've never seen a female wolf that big before"
"Well, I'm an Alpha" she said then turned and walked towards the bar that they had set up.
Nicolas watched her as she left thinking ~What have I gotten myself into~
