Chapter 24: 24) HARD DECISION
Next day, it was like everything was normal. Cecil who was gloomy the day before was behaving normally. Noah was also behaving like he used to every day. It was like everybody took yesterday's incident as just a game. Cecil and Noah were talking like the way they usually talked. Even Katherine was surprised. She had thought Cecil would avoid Noah at least for someday.
The actual thing was after Cecil reached home yesterday, he thought for a very long time. Whether Noah liked Samaira or not, he couldn't guess correctly. Surely they both had grown close to each other but not to the level where they casually touched each other like between him and Noah. Maybe Noah chose Samaira because he chose Aerial. Was Noah angry because of that so he chose Samaira? He knew Samaira didn't have any romantic feelings for Noah so, why was he feeling jealous of Samaira? What was this feeling of crisis? He could just try to develop more feelings for Noah towards him.
So, next day Cecil talked with Noah properly as if yesterday's incident didn't matter to him. Cecil was the one to fall first and he had to compromise if he wanted Noah. He was sure of his feelings towards Noah. He wanted to spend his whole life with him. He wanted future with Noah. Since that day, Cecil did everything to please Noah. He did everything Noah said. He helped him in study, exams.... yada yada. In front of Noah Cecil didn't care about his self-esteem. Who told him to fall in love with the boy especially when that boy was the most popular boy? Cecil followed Noah everywhere in school. It seemed like Cecil was Noah's lackey instead of friend.
Noah was also surprised at first. He always thought was this cute guy trying to please him? Cecil did whatever he said, followed him everywhere and defended him. Cecil was always in his support. Noah felt he was number one in Cecil's heart and he liked this feeling. Noah's ego was boosted because of this. At first, he was really pleased and happy but as the days passed by he felt like it was a natural thing to do. No matter what he did or said, Cecil would always be by his side. He was confident that Cecil had a crush on him.
To see Cecil's expression, Noah started to flirt with the girls from his class but Cecil wasn't angry. He talked about getting a girlfriend in front of Cecil but Cecil just used to smile. It was like he took Cecil's attention for granted, Noah started flirting with girls more and more. He even took Cecil with himself to flirt with girls but Cecil always used to stay silent. He only used to speak when Noah talked with him. The girls started to flock around Noah more and more.
The previous rumour of Noah being gay disappeared immediately. Girls were dying to get Noah's attention and to be his first girlfriend. Noah's male ego was even bigger after that. He gave his attention to every girls ignoring Cecil. He always felt no matter what he did, Cecil would always be standing behind his back looking at him. It was like he owned Cecil.
Girls got attention from Noah but none got to be his first girlfriend, Although Noah used to flirt with girls, he never crossed the line. He never proposed anyone and Cecil was satisfied with just that. He used to feel hurt when he saw Noah flirting with others. He wanted to yell at Noah telling don't flirt with them but his words always used to get stuck in his throat. He just used to stand behind Noah watching him silently.
The time was passing and soon the year was ending. The final exams for grade eight was coming near. Cecil was in his room preparing for exams when Bella suddenly called him. He went downstairs and saw Bella and Cain sitting on the sofa.
"Cecil, come and sit here." Bella said patting the space next to her.
Cecil sat down and asked, "What's the matter, mom?"
Bella was silent for a while and said, "Actually I got my job transfer. So, after your final exams, we're leaving this city. Both of you have to change your schools too. I'm sorry I made this decision without consulting with both of you."
Cecil was shocked for a while. Leaving this city, leaving this school? He was going far away from Noah. What the hell?! Even god was playing with him. Was Noah really not in his destiny? Was he really going to leave this city where Noah was?
As he was thinking, Bella said, "That city is good too. I'll get pay rise too. I promise I'll admit both of you in the best school. I'll never compromise with your studies. Our financial problems will be stable too. What do you have to say, Cecil, Cain?"
"I don't care much, mom. I'll go wherever you say." Cain answered.
Cecil also said, "It's okay, mom. You said it suddenly so, I was shocked for a while. You are most important. No matter what you decide, we'll always be with you."
Bella hugged both of her sons tightly.
"Thank you for understanding me. Mom loves both of you very much."
