Chapter 36: 36 - Entering the Great Way
"Heheheheh." The elderly voice laughed calmly: "Young one, at your age, you already have such a comprehension of the 'Great Way'. This is rare. How about I bring you on a journey through your life?"
The darkness that was enveloping Itachi now transformed into a vividly colored image. Green trees seen in the distance along a dirt path. Though even if the background was beautiful. What was happening in it was anything but beautiful.
Along a dirt road, the caravan of dead bodies lay as three people stood. Two children in front of one masked man. One looked eerily similar to Itachi as the other child held a kunai on both his arms before dashing up to the masked man only for him to die.
"..." Itachi looked towards the scene with a slight frown on his lips before the elderly voice rang again.
"The Elemental Nations. This was a scene from your last mission with a standard shinobi squad, and your last mission as a normal genin. What is the way here?"
"I have encountered an enemy several times stronger than I. Wiping out my whole team along with killing the ones we were to escort. Despite that happening I lived, survived... I was fated to live through it as it was all planned out by him" Itachi said looking at the masked man.
"Those are all 'the way' " He calmly spoke
"Very good."
The scene once again change and soon what he saw was the Uchiha clan compound. Itachi stood as the bodies of his clansmen lay breathless on the ground as he was staring at a smaller figure. The smaller figure was on his knees holding onto his injured shoulder before passing out. Itachi could only stare at the child before he disappeared in a flicker.
"This is the Village hidden in the leaves. Despite being hailed as a genius, attaining the rank of anbu captain at fourteen years of age. You were still powerless to do anything and could only be used as a puppet to kill your own clansmen. What is the way on you?"
"..." Closing his eyes for a few seconds, he opened them again to show his matured shringan "The way is choosing to let my little brother live on, even if it meant he were to grow up resenting me. The way was arrogantly trying to lead him on a path he was not willing to take, A way that I failed miserably to do"
"... So you see the Great Way as something that should lead one to light?" The elderly voice asked before another scene played out.
"Then how about this. If you had a second chance, would you have given up your decision that night to give her the life that you showed her through your tsukuyomi?" The elderly voice said as he saw a scene of an adult Itachi along with an adult Izumi holding a baby. It was the life he gave to Izumi through his illusions.
"...No, my decision would have still remained the same. Don't get me wrong, I have my regrets, that whole night were my regrets... but even if they were I still would have chosen the same choice. After all to move forward is to accept our mistakes. It's what makes us human" Itachi spoke after a long pause.
"Then... how about this?" The elderly man said as he saw Yun Che being bullied by some clansmen, only after his little aunt had come to chase them away did they stop." Do you know why I showed you that?"
"...Because... in my heart I still haven't taken the fact that I am Yun Che. But in the end he is Itachi and Itachi is Yun Che. The 'Great Way' is also me as it is everything" Itachi stated. "This life of mine is but a tool for the Great Way and it is also a tool for me to use as with the world, that is the 'Great Way' I have comprehended" Itachi said.
"HAHAHAHAHA! The 'Great Way' is your tool?! As with the world around you?! Young one, you surprise me. No wonder you had more than one lives! You actually realized it so quickly. Then, from now onwards, let heaven and earth be within your control, let all beings in this world exist only because of you. Go and seek your own 'Great Way' and 'Buddha'." The elderly said

In the Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range Itachi, who was in a lotus position shifted slightly as he begun to open his eyes. When he smiled, a faint silver light suddenly appeared from the surface of his body. At the same time, a miniature silver pagoda appeared on his head, before slowing descending, and entering Itachi's body.
Jasmine who watched this happening could only try and resist herself as she was shocked beyond relief. 'THREE HOURS! That year, elder brother used thirty three days to comprehend the Great Way Of the Buddha. Yet he did so in three hours? His comprehension is at a unparalleled level!!'
Just as she was about to call out to him, she felt pressure build up withing Itachi when she heard a booming sound.

'My word...' Jasmine thought as she was just staring at him dumbly. 'He might actually reach Sovereign Profound in five no four years... maybe even sooner!'

Standing up Itachi heard the crackling emitted by his bones as he felt strength surge within him, especially his arms. He felt the strength of fifteen hundred kilos or three thousand three hundred and six pounds worth of strenght.
'If I were to use the Evil God Arts and the Eight Gates... what will be my level of strenght' Itachi thought to himself.
"Ahem!..." Jasmine said coughing to get his attention.
"Hn?" He gave her a questioning look as Jasmine replied.
"Now that you have comprehended the Great Way of the Buddha, what will we do next? Will we stay here?" She asked
"...No" Itachi said as he collected the bodies of the Profound Beasts as their body could be made into pellets. "We're returning back to New Moon City" Itachi spoke.
"Mn, then I'll be inside the Sky Poison Pearl" Jasmine said returning. She needed to rest her heard with the surprise Itachi gave her.
