Chapter 2: The Arena
When Kin became conscious again, he found himself in a prison cell. Not only that, his clothes and body have also changed. He had become a child again! Currently, he wore a old rag clothes.
'Seems like I'm some kind of slave, huh?' He thought with a neutral face. Looking around in his cell, he could see several other children who all looked like a lifeless doll. It was as if they hadn't seen light in their entire life.
[Aiya, so this is the human that we would have to judge, huh?] A feminine voice was heard inside his head. It was a gentle and calm tone.
[Seems like so. He doesn't look like anything special, if I may say so myself.] Another feminine voice was heard, this one was much sharper and deeper than the previous one.
'Who are you, girls?' He asked in his mind. He knew that they were judges who would judge his karma in his new life, but since they would be sticking with each other for a long time, he might as well learn more about them.
[My name is Gabriel, and this is Lucifer, my best friend. Nice to meet you, Kin.]
'Gabriel and Lucifer?' He thought and became surprised by their names. they were two famous names from the bible. Archangel Gabriel and the fallen angel, Lucifer. He thought that both of them were actually males, but it turns out that they are both girls.
Suddenly, he felt a sting in his head as several unknown pictures appeared in his mind. The memory was of this body of the previous owner and everything else that he needed to know about this world. There were also memories of how he could use his power.
As he tried to process all of it, two guards came and took some of the children including him to what seemed to be an armory, where they gave them some random weapons. What was weird about those guards was that they were all humans with animal features.
Kin received a sword, which was a decent weapon. There were five other children, including him. They walked through the hallway as they were told to stop by the guards. Suddenly the floor that they stood on begins to move up.
All of the kids started to panic as they wondered what was going to happen. Kin was also nervous. By looking at the weapons that were given to them, they would probably fight something or someone.
'Gabriel, Lucifer, what will happen if I die right now?' He asked his Karma Judges who didn't answer his question or even say anything.
They arrived at what seemed to be an arena. Kin looked around and got ready for combat as he could see that the audience were all demi-humans.
"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen! This will be the last battle of the day, and for that, it would be a special one. Let's welcome their opponent!" A man with a cat face said. The crowds started to cheer as the gate in front of them started to open.
Before he knew it, several vines went to grab all of them. Kin was one of the few who managed to dodge or block it. Those who got caught screamed as they were pulled inside the gate, then… There was no more sound.
'This is crazy, how am I supposed to beat that thing? Even if I teamed up with the remaining survivors, I'll doubt we can beat it.'
[Ah, hello? Kin, are you there?]
Hearing Gabriel's voice, Kin became somewhat relived as two vines went after him. He quickly cut them down with his sword. 'I'm in a bit of a dire situation right now, but what's up?'
[Remember the question you asked us before? Yeah, Lucifer had a talk with her dad, and he told her that you would just be reincarnated again if you died right now.]
'I see… Thanks for the information, Gabriel. I'll call you guys later.'
[You welcome! I'm happy to help.]
"Ahh!" Screamed a kid who got ripped in half by the vines. It was a very gory scene that made both Kin and the other kid pale. His corpse was pulled back into the gate as a chewing sound could be heard.
Kin started to dodge the incoming vines as he cut those that were too close to him down. "[Acceleration]" He said as he could feel his body becoming lighter. All of the vines became easier to dodge as he dodged them all easily.
This, of course, made the audience angry as they didn't want to see a coward running away from the battle.
"D-Dammit! Let go of me, you bastard!" Screamed a person. Kin looked over and saw the last kid who got caught by one of the vines.
'I think I should help him. He would owe me a huge favor, and I would get a new person I could use to survive in this world.'
With that in thought, Kin quickly rushed towards the kid, who was getting dragged by the vines into the gate. Several vines came towards him as he dodged and cut them all. He was beginning to get tired, so he had to do this fast.
"[Acceleration x2]"
Now his speed has been increased by four times than normal, as blood begins to pour down from his nose and ears by using too much mana than his body could hold. With a quick swing of his blade, half of the vines got cut down, while the rest were dodged by him.
This made everyone in the arena surprised as Kin cut down the vine that held the kid. He then grabbed them and held them on his shoulder.
Several vines were heading their ways once again. The monster inside the gate became angry as its prey was taken away from another one.
Instead of taking them head-on, Kin jumped on one of the vines and started to run. Of course, all of the other vines started to take a grab on him as he jumped from vines to vines until he finally let out a final jump and reached towards the spectator's area of the arena.
"Hey, if you can hear me, hang on. This could be a troublesome escape."
