Chapter 407: Gengar
"Sir, I have called the client. Mr. Gerat would be here in 5 minutes."
"Thank you, I would wait for him here."
It was 7 a.m. and Axel decided to have his tea. He would meet the client and have his breakfast.
"Yes, are you the trainer that filled one of the positions?", asked Gerat.
Gerat was a slim guy with not enough muscles. He looked middle-aged, around 40-50 years old. He had gray hair. He was wearing a suit, with a black shirt and black pants.
Axel could instantly see the 'I don't trust this kid' look in Gerat. He could understand it. How could any stranger trust him when he looks so young at first glance?
"Mr. Gerat, Mr. Axel here is a master rank trainer. You said to pay 3 million Poke dollars to a master rank trainer and I have communicated that to him.
He wants to talk to you and change the quest rewards and details. Before you question about his rank, let me tell you, I have already verified his details and it is legit."
Any person would get angry if there were questioned twice about the same thing. That was why the girl said that Axel's rank was verified cause she didn't want him to get irritated.
"What do you want to talk about?", asked Gerat.
"Why don't we talk about this with a cup of coffee? I want something to eat too."
Gerat agreed and booked a room for their discussion. The building was big and there were multiple restaurants where the client could talk to the trainers.
"So, what do you want to ask?"
"5,000 km is not very long. Why did the quest say that it should be completed in 2 days?"
"Well, I don't want any risk with it, so I thought to go slow."
"Ok, I have a proposal for you. With me, you don't need the other 2 trainers and I could complete this within a day. It would also save you some time. I want you to merge all the money that you were thinking to give to 3 trainers and increase it up a bit since I am completing the quest in 1 day. The quest was to start tomorrow, but we can start right now. So, basically, I would be saving you 2 days."
"Mr. Axel, I don't want to be rude, but the forest to Cladefair city is very dangerous. I know that you are a master rank trainer but how many pseudo-king rank Pokemon do you have right now?"
"I have 7 of them."
"7? Really 7?"
"Yes, I can call all of them out for you to see."
"No need. I can see that you are not lying. Ok, I would pay 15 million dollars for this mission. But remember, the medical cost for your Pokemons would not be given by me."
"I understand. So, can we go to the association and change the quest details and rewards?"
"Yes, let's do that."

"Sir, I have changed the quest. The league would take 1% commission of the reward money."
"1%? That is very low.", said Axel.
"Yes sir. The percentage goes down as your rank increases. Cause the fee of higher rank trainers are generally very high."
Both of them came out of the building.
"So, when do you want to start?"

Axel met Gerat. The carriage was not like the one in medieval novels. It was a big vehicle. The goods were properly packed in boxes and it looked very safe. Axel could imagine that the goods were worth millions of Poke dollars.

The vehicle also had a driver and a compartment where Gerat and Axel could sit comfortably.
"Shall we start then?"
"Yes, we should."
Axel called out Beedrill outside and told it to fly along them. Any wild Pokemon who are weaker would stay away from Beedrill.
There was no disturbance for the first 2 hours. They encountered some brave elemental rank Pokemon and some of pseudo-king rank Pokemon but they were no problem to Axel and his team.
He could all out all his pseudo-king rank Pokemons to deal with the problem. He also called out other Pokemons to have a fighting experience.
It was also good for Pokemons like Tauros and Absol. They were now gaining experience and now they were on the verge of ranking up.
Their rank up had already been extended and they would rank up after some time.
There were hardly any King rank Pokemon in the forest. The King rank Pokemon normally didn't move from their positions and the driver knew the places where they lived. So, they avoided those places.
After 10 hours, they still had 25% of the journey left. Normally, the quest would have been completed in 6-8 hours but this time the wild Pokemon encounters have increased by a lot.
"I don't know why this is happening. Normally wild Pokemons would not attack in such a pattern.", said the driver.
Axel could see that the wild Pokemons were running from something. He was not having a good feeling about this.
They started their journey at 9 a.m. and it was now 7 p.m.. So, Axel had already missed the flight. It was already night time and the carriage was not stopping.
"Don't you think that we should rest here? Nighttime is dangerous and I promise you to pay the full amount.", said Gerat.
"No, it is okay. We will reach the city after a few hours and then we would sleep in the hotel. I want to complete this journey as fast as I can.", said Axel.
Nighttime was for ghost-type Pokemons. They were tricky to deal with. Axel had dealt with a lot of ghost-type Pokemon in the tide. He didn't have any problem to deal with them here.
Suddenly the carriage stopped.
"Sir, we have detected some wild Pokemons and there are a lot of them.", said the driver. The driver was an experienced one.
Axel got out of the carriage to get ready for another battle.
Beedrill was still outside and it was measuring its opponents. Axel was a little surprised to see the group of these Pokemons.
They were basically ghost-type Pokemon. There were some Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar. There were also some Banette and Sableye. He was surprised cause none of these Pokemons were elemental rank or above.
Most of them were common and uncommon ranks. There were some of them who were in rare ranks. Seeing Beedrill, they should have hidden from them. There was no fear in their eyes. During the tide, he had learned a lot of things and he knew that there was something that he was missing here.
"It is rare to see such a powerful Shedinja. Hehe..", came a voice from behind.
The missing piece had arrived. Axel turned back and found a Gengar. The Gengar was not letting out any aura but Axel could tell that it was not something he could mess with. It was speaking in human language so it should at least be a king-rank Pokemon.
"We are traveling to Cladefair City and we don't want any trouble. Can we pass through here?"
Axel was surprised that the Gengar could feel Shedinja's presence as it was in Axel's shadow.
"I would want to say Yes, but I have to say no. You see, my young lings need to have some training done and they want to fight with your Pokemons. So, you let your Pokemons fight with them and then I would think to leave you guys alive.", said Gengar.
"I would accept it but you have to let us out of here safe and sound.", said Axel. Gerat and the driver were still in the cage and they could tell that they were in trouble.
"Alright, I would let you go safely. Now, the battle and training."
There was only Pidgeot who was an uncommon rank Pokemon and Absol and Tauros who were rare rank in Axel's team.
He called out to them and some of the Gengar, Banette, and Sableye got ready to fight.
The battle went on and all of his Pokemons won the battle pretty easily. All of them were on the verge to rank up. Pidgeot also had its rank extended and it was close to reaching rare rank.
Gengar called out to others to take their turns. The battle went on for 2 hours. His Pokemon were already very tired and Pidgeot lost the first battle. Axel called it out in the Poke ball.
It only had minor injuries and it would be okay. However, Axel was hating all of this. He had to let his Pokemon fight multiple battles and then let them lose. If he was strong enough, he would have killed this Gengar.
He promised himself to kill this Pokemon after he got stronger. That would only be possible if he came out of here alive. He was not trusting his Gengar any bit.
He wanted to call Oak but they were in the middle of the forest and there was no connection. He had to invent PokeNav for his safety.
After a few minutes, Absol and Tauros also lost their first battle. They were deadly tired. Axel called them inside the ball and turned towards Gengar.
"Now, can we go now?", asked Axel.
"I would want to say yes but I have to say no. Hehehe…", said Gengar.
Gengar was a species that loved to play pranks. Sometimes these pranks could also take the life of humans. They were not trusting Pokemon. They were not Pokemon of their word unless they were your Pokemon.
"I have already done what you have asked. I don't think there is anything that I could do for you now.", said Axel.
"Oh, it is not for me. I just want to see how strong your Shedinja is. It is very rare to see a pseudo-king rank Shedinja. It has been thousands of years since I have seen one.", said Gengar.
Axel noticed 2 things from that statement. First, this Gengar was thousands of years old. Gengar was a ghost-type Pokemon and it could live for thousands and thousands of years. It was a Pokemon that was born when a Pokemon or a human died.
"My Marcus is weak compared to you. It could not fight you properly."
"Oh, don't worry, I am not going to kill you or your Pokemon here. I just want to see how powerful it really is.", assured Gengar.
Axel called out Alakazam first and then said, "Marcus, come out."
The shadow of Axel started to move and suddenly Shedinja emerged from the shadows.
There were low gasps from other wild Pokemons cause they had not sensed Shedinja.
He called out Alakazam for an emergency.
'Light, how powerful is that Gengar? I cannot feel anything from it.', asked Axel in his mind.
'I also cannot tell but that Gengar is powerful. It must at least be a champion-rank Pokemon.', replied Alakazam.
'Tell Beedrill and Marcus to get ready. If I or you feel any sense of danger, you will use your full power to teleport me, Beedrill, and Marcus to the city.', said Axel.
Yes, he was going to leave the carriage, Gerat and the driver. This was the real world. He wanted to help them but he knew that if Alakazam took them, it could not cover a lot of distance with teleport.
Alakazam gave a slight nod. He knew that Gengar could guess why he called out Alakazam but he didn't care. This was the risk that he had to take.

"Are you ready?", asked Gengar.
"Yes, we are both ready."
"Show me your best moves kid. I want to see if you have made your ancestors proud.", said Gengar.
"Marcus, use 'Harden' and 'Agility'.", said Axel.
Gengar just stood there waiting for the attack.
Shedinja used 'Harden' and 'Agility' to its maximum potential. It could use 'Harden' 2 times and 'Agility' 4 times right now. Its speed had increased to maximum.
"Now create substitutes and attack it my 'Shadow ball'"
After leveling up 'Substitute', it could create 3 substitutes that could also attack. The power of the substitutes attack was only 30% but it was still a good battle strategy.
Axel could see that something black was covering Gengar. Like a black aura. All 4 of the Shedinja used 'Shadow ball' and hit Gengar but the attack just bounced off it and moved in the opposite direction.

It had no effect.
Shedinja started to use multiple moves, like 'Night slash' and 'Shadow ball' and 'Bug buzz' but none of it had any effect on Gengar. Axel suspected it to happen. He looked at Alakazam to see if it was ready for the teleport.
"It is disappointing. If you have nothing after this then you have disgraced your ancestor and you have disgraced me.", said Gengar with a sigh. It looked like it was really hoping for a good fight.
It then sent something very bast and …..
BBOOOOMMMMMM
What surprised Axel was, it only targeted the real Shedinja like it knew which was real.
Shedinja immediately used 'Switch' and replaced it with a substitute.
"Oh, that is interesting…", said Gengar.
"Marcus, let's get serious. Cancel all the substitutes and activate 'Shadow domain.'"
Using substitutes had many disadvantages. Like, the power and stats of Shedinja get distributed with substitutes. Since there were 4 Shedinja now, the power and the stats of each Shedinja including the real one was only 25% of its max power.
That was why the attacks were not so powerful but Axel chose to do it for safety reasons. Seeing that Gengar was starting to get serious, and disappointed, he wanted to show how powerful Shedinja really was.

Shedinja canceled the substitutes and black mist started to come out of its mouth and body.
It instantly covered the area of 5 meters around it including Gengar.
