Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2
" What's going on here?" a woman asked descending the staircase making me snap my head towards her direction
" Wait a minute, you've been around all this while? I asked stating the obvious,because it all explains why the door was opened "who the fucking hell are you two?"
" You must be Samantha" she said with a fake smile plastered on her face
"Like i mean Who the fuck are you?" I yelled
"Language lady or would you like to do the laundry for a month?" She smirked "By the way I'm Juliea, you could ask your dad about me when he returns, I see you already made a surprise dish for him" she said in mockery
"can someone tell me what the hell is going on here?" I said through gritted teeth
"Is obvious your mum spoilt you the ten few years she managed to live with you, quit been a bitch okay , I wonder what sort of woman would leave her daughter after her tenth years old birthday, a perfect birthday surprise isn't it?" she chuckled
Okay now I'm totally losing it. I understand my mum left while I was still young for an unknown reason till unknown to me but it still doesn't gives anyone right to talk trash her. I don't really hold anything against her any more i guess i moved on . i hated her though because those years was really horrible for me but my dad was always there for and.
"mum I think we should break it down to her" the girl of probably my age said to Juliea snapping me out of my little thoughts. I really didn't need to be told it was her mum because they looked so much alike with similar chestnut brown hair and brown eyes .oh yeah I still don't know her name.
"Caroline,you shouldn't bother about her, just do your thing" juliea said eyeing me from head to toe before walking pass me making me feel like an idiot.
"kayyyy" Caroline said ascending the stairs "and oh my friends are coming over so you can as well be useful right?" she smiled before leaving sight
i stood helplessly confused of what's going on. So far all i have realized is that they probably have been living here. Did my dad remarry? because Juliea just treated me like her step daughter. oh fuck and Caroline , yes her name is Caroline, I still don't know what she's like but I can tell she is bitchy because of her looks but as they all say 'atimes looks deceive'.
I decided to play it cool.

I walked down the rough road, my hands in my sweats pocket and my airpod plugged in my ear with Ariana grande song streaming as I hum along, going to no where in particular. Most times the only way I can cool my head is by taking a walk.
Memories flooding over me. I remember how I and Lisa use to walk down this road late at nights. I really wish I could see her today but I'm not just in the mood. I miss her so much,even though we were far away from each other we made out time to see each other once in awhile.
I need to put my life in place, I need to sort things out. A part of me just wants to accept reality and believe Juliea is my step mum but I just can't, till I hear from my dad. My dad had first told me he was going to remarry when he had walked up to my room on the night of my fifteenth years old birthday. I had read a lot of books and realized how cruel and manipulative step mums are, so I pleaded with my dad not to remarry for the fear of been treated harshly by my step mum and he had hugged me saying he won't consider it anymore that he felt I needed a motherly figure but since I'm okay then he won't and I believed every word he said, him been a man of his word.
I just realized it was my first smile since I met Caroline and her mum when a smile crept my lips as I came across the old coffee shop down the road. I wasn't expecting it to remain the same way I left it 4yrs ago, was I? but man it changed a lot, at least the name "uncle Jo's coffee shop" didn't change if not I won't have been able to recognize it.
I, Lisa and Matt use to hangout here after school on our way home. yeah we have a lot of memories together
I smiled as I stepped into the shop. The aroma of fresh coffee filled the atmosphere.
"is that you Sam?" someone said from behind me and the voice sounds fucking familiar "Sam?" I automatically turned around taking off the airpod that was plugged in my ear
"Matt!" I squealed running torward him and pulling him in a tight hug
" oh I know you missed me but you are choking me" he chuckled
" silly" I playfully hit his arm " you are looking like a grown up man"
" c'mon I didn't change much, I have always been like this"
"u wish" I stick out my tongue in mockery. I know, so mature for a 20 yrs old actually I'm 19 going to 20 next month "what are you doing around here?"
" looks like someone has forgotten my dad owns the shop "
" oh , how can i? when we'll actually got free coffee each time we came here" I chuckled
" and Lisa would always nag about her coffee getting cold " he laughed lightly " we have gotten pretty close all these years though "
" oh , I plan to see her tomorrow, she actually doesn't know I'm around I plan showing up at her house as a surprise , so don't dare tell her you met me "
"I would think about it" he smirked making me roll my eyes
"its quite funny you are still around, I thought you said something about leaving Florida after highschool to stay with your mum"
" oh yeah I said so but there was no need for that anymore because my mum came over"
" oh, I get"
"can we talk later? my dad isn't around to run the shop, so maybe tomorrow night if okay by you"
"okay sure"
we exchanged numbers and I start to walk home, plugging my airpod in my ear again you can't blame me that I'm a music lover. I sigh as I think of everything happening back home and wished I could stay longer but I couldn't for the fear of been seen by Lisa, yeah I still want to surprise her, beside Matt is busy.
Today wasn't really a bad day after all, I thought. At least i met an old high school friend. yes Matt was my old high school friend, I had lost his number after I had changed my phone , I tried getting it back but couldn't so I gave up. Doesn't mean I forget about him, I usually thought of him once in a while.
we all actually met on a Saturday noon. I and Lisa was hanging out in the coffee shop when Matt walked in, at first we was surprise to see us, you know the feeling you get when you meet your school mate where you didn't expect. After a little chit chat we found out it was his dad shop and since then it became our regular hangout since we got free coffee. As time passed the three of us became close friends but I and Lisa are closer to each other probably because we are both girls.
