Chapter 26: Mu Feng is back

Almost a week time had passed since Wu Jinyan became comatose. But things were going perfectly alright for certain person.

Li Xiaoyi herself replaced Wu Jinyan and finished the music video and also confirmed the time to make her surprise comeback in the next few days.

It was out of her expectations but she heard nothing like a threat from Gu Zihao that could make her to lose her sleep and hence she guessed nothing went wrong with his artist.

She threw all the worries she had over that injured woman aside and was grinning from ear to ear as she heard the news of no presence of a woman in Gu Zichen's villa since the day she met that so called Mrs.Gu. This simple tip was enough for her heart to leap out of her chest in joy.

As she expected, that nightmarish woman she saw in Gu Corporation was just a street actress hired by Gu Zichen to act as his wife. She knew Gu Zichen loves only her.

"Gu Zichen, I know you are just playing hard..huh. Let's see how long you'll keep avoiding me.." Li Xiaoyi laughed heartily as she scrolled through the web to look at the latest entertainment news when one particular article made her to frown in displeasure.

"Prince Mu Feng is back. Announced his new single would be coming soon" She wondered if Mu Feng was deliberately messing with her. He already backed out from her MV filming and also making a comeback in the same time frame as her.

On the other side, Gu Zichen ordered Chen Fei to bring all the necessary documents to the hospital to make sure his company wouldn't get into chaos. He looked after Wu Jinyan and also his work simultaneously by staying in the hospital the whole week disregarding everything else. Both his wife and the employees working under him were his responsibility and he couldn't slack off in such a critical time.

He was putting all his efforts and time to stay by her side and accompany her as much as he could and make sure she would feel his presence around her round the clock. Why? He simply wanted to be the first person she'd see after waking up and know how much he was worried about her.

He was worried about her? More than worrying, he missed her cute expressions and the animated looks she would give that could amuse him any time. Her present pale, sick face made him feel a mix of emotions. Uneasiness, Unhappiness and Uselessness.

The only thing he strongly wished all the time was her to wake up and to watch the kind of expression she'd have on her face when she sees him right after opening her eyes. He wished to see the glimmer in her eyes again when she stares at him with her infatuated eyes unlike the cold glare she gave him that caused chills to run down his spine.

Knowing his mind, others might call him a maniac to think of her as a plaything entertaining him, but only he knew how much he liked her expressiveness.

Everything was same as before with no promising improvement in her condition until one morning, a man barged into the room despite the strong blockade maintained by the security outside the room.

Gu Zichen was reading some files on his tablet when he heard the door open.

"What's going on at home? Why mom and dad are suddenly pestering me to let them meet her?"

He said turning around thinking it was his brother Gu Zihao but he saw another man who's in his mid twenties blessed with a radiant face and tall stature, staring at him with a wide grin.

'Of course, they'll pester you since their beloved grandson already hinted them that their daughter in law was sick but their son is hiding her from them. Well done Prince' Mu Feng praised himself for doing a good job.

'When did this monkey return?' Gu Zichen stood up and walked towards the man to take the flowers from him, but his approach was swiftly evaded.

Mu Feng walked past Gu Zichen and placed the flowers personally on the table next to the patient's bed. He was entirely unconcerned about his uncle, now also his friend's husband. He just stared at the woman's face and wondered how horrible she had become when this ice cold, heartless man staying with her. She must have felt suffocated.

Mu Feng stared at the tubings attached to the patient's body and felt as though needles were pricking on his heart walls. He lifted his hands and caressed Wu Jinyan's cheek with a longing gaze. He then sat on the bed side chair and held her hand while his eyes were still on her pale face.

Watching the uninvited guest's abrupt intimate actions with his wife made Gu Zichen to burn with anger. He didn't know the reason for Mu Feng to visit Wu Jinyan and the exact relationship between them but he was already being generous by not kicking him out.

"Don't you know how to respect your elders?" Gu Zichen picked Mu Feng from the bedside seat that was originally his. He simply threw the uninvited guest aside.

"Should I respect a wicked man who married an innocent girl when he already had someone in his heart?" Mu Feng was not a man who's afraid of losing but not in a situation when the person getting affected was the woman his heart wanted.

"You..."

Mu Feng didn't care about what his uncle was speaking further and did what he intended to do from the beginning. He placed airpods into Wu Jinyan's ears and tapped on his mobile screen to play a track.

"Just as you wanted, I decided to make music again. Are you not going to listen to me sing?" Mu Feng mumbled as he looked at the woman laid on the bed Ike a lifeless doll. He just hoped to see her smile with him making her biggest wish come to reality.

If not for her persistent taunting, he would have forgotten that he was once a musician who brought waves of emotions to strike people's hearts, making them cry out their eyes.

And for her, he numbed his heart and gulped down the fears blocking him from moving on and made a song for her. That sensation he felt while playing and writing the notes, wasn't bad. He was pretty relaxed and he felt much better than before.

Was it because he made the song for her to listen? He was sure she was the reason for the peacefulness he felt this time while holding a guitar unlike the struggling he had during the past three years.

"Don't you want to see me sing on stage again? If you don't wake up I'll release the song immediately and let the whole world listen before you" Mu Feng spoke once again hiding the tears threatening to fall at any moment.
