Chapter 3: MW - 3

"Ready?"

"Yes."

As we give nods at each other, we walk to the cell gate and I unlock it. Putting oil in a rusty metal gate somehow helps to lessen its noise, which Bryan did earlier. Jeore is making sure that everyone's already sleeping. I am about to open the cell gate when someone suddenly groans.

"Hmm hmm," we turn around as we heard the voice. Thankfully, he didn't wake up. As I move the gate openly, I feel glad as we step on the hallway. It's all dark and the thing we can only hear is the birds chirping. We are trying to walk slowly for we won't get caught.

"This way," Jeore points out his finger to the left. We glance on both sides to make sure there's no one there. Trying to run away, a police suddenly comes out of his office. We quickly hide under the small chair and darkness comes over us. He comes closer without knowing that we're just here sitting by. He stops from walking, stands beside us, and even stretches his body.

"Ugh, so tired. Don't even know shit about fuck," now that Bryan accidentally laughs, Jeore covers his mouth when the police finds it.

"Oh God. Not now, not now. I'm scared of ghosts, huhu."

The three of us look at him and have to make face. Tss, behind that very big body is a soul who's afraid of unbelievable creations. He runs out of his fear, which means we can finally continue getting away from here. Forgive us, oh God.

I think Jeore is bringing us to the backyard. We go through the small hole, enough for us to get out. And I'm right, we're here in the backyard. I can see many high fences and trees. So, where's the way out?

"Stay," Jeore commands. Bryan and I wait for him to come back and after a few minutes, he's now bringing two wooden chairs, I think I know what he is thinking.

"Bryan, you go first," he said. We place the chairs for we will use them as footstool. Jeore helps him to step on it. As Bryan jumps in, Jeore looks at me and whisper. "You can do it."

I do have fear of heights. I remember when I rode the EKstreme tower. It raises slowly to 150 feet high and as it reaches the top, it plummets to the ground. I couldn't scream at all because I was so scared, I was just hoping no death.

"You ready?" He asked, I nodded. I try looking at the spot where I will drop myself off, Bryan's there to catch me. I am about to jump on it when all of a sudden, we hear sounds that we surely don't want to hear — a policeman screaming at us and even blowing his whistle.

"Hey, you! Comeback here!"

Fuck.

"Otep, faster!" As Bryan speaks, not whispering anymore because apparently, we're getting caught. I look at the policemen now running after us. I jump carefully as I can and Jeore follows me swiftly.

"Shit. Shit. Shit," Bryan cussed. We are making ourselves clean and probably looking for the way out of here. "Can't believe we did this," he chuckled.

"Fuck, we're getting caught." Jeore said.

No, definitely no. I shake my head like I am saying that we're not getting back to that hella place. "No way, run."

Then, we find ourselves running out of the woods. Policemen are still following us and we do not even know where we're going. All I know is we need to run away from this place.

For exhaustion we have been feeling since we started to run, we need to stop, realizing that we're landed on the highway. I take a breath to calm down myself and look at Bryan and Jeore doing the same way. I snap my neck and even put my hands on the knees. This is way harder than I thought.

"Are they still there?" Bryan asked and breathe heavily. Jeore turns his eyes around to check if there are still policemen running after us.

"No," he said. "But they'll come."

"What now?" I ask. They think for a minute and eventually Jeore speaks.

"Part ways, I guess."

I glance at him and Bryan does the same. At this moment, I never knew sadness could be this louder.

"Yeah," Bryan nods. "Part ways."

Conversation's over. As we heard of policemen shouting at us, as if we will shout back, we smile at each other and give our tight hugs. Maybe we know by just the look in our eyes that we will be missed.

"Hope you see your family," I say to Jeore, be all smiles. "You too, Bryan. Take care."

"Thank you, Otep." They shake their heads. "You're an angel."

"A mad angel?" We laugh. "Go now, they are so close." If we stay here for too long, we might get caught. We can see lights and hear whistles, they'll be here within a little.

A meter away, Bryan and Jeore suddenly stop from running. I look at them wondering why, they smile again and scream.

"We owe our lives to you!" Surprised, I have no words to say but to smile and nod. Is this how it all ends?

When they pass from my sight, I can totally hear the car siren and it really brings me on the edge. I'm finding my way out when I heard a voice.

"There she is!" Widening my eyes because of shock when a policeman saw me. Fuck, where will I go?

The way is nowhere to be found, I think, but I run as fast as I can. I didn't know that I can be an athlete at times like this, I do run fast and furious, yet I'm tired.

And I don't know luck until such time, someone who's driving his Bugatti Divo car go next to me. I'm still running while glancing inside of it, I can see the faces of two men in the backseat, telling me to get in.

Fuck, thank God.

"Faster!" The guy who's wearing a blue shirt and a jacket shouts at me. I look once again at policemen who are still after me before getting in the car of these good samaritans.

"Fuck," the moment that I laid my shit ass at the driver's seat, I lean my back at it as I cuss.

"The hell, you fled?" The guy on the army green shirt asked. I have to look at them and familiarize their faces. Instead of saying the answer, I glance at the man beside me, driving his luxurious car.

And God knows how much I am at a loss right now. Why?

"Rauxe?"

As I say that, he smirks without looking at me. He is wearing a black cup and a black sweater. He always wears black, what's the matter with him?!

"What are you d-doing here?" He's not answering me so I look at the guys in the back. "Are you...?"

"We're all policemen."

Fuck.

"Don't worry, we won't get you back in jail." They laugh and I sigh. "I'm Callen, by the way."

"I'm Jevo," he introduced himself cheerfully. Actually, I have a joke. Been thinking this for 5 hours straight. Wanna hear it? Okay." He comes closer to us and proudly tells his joke.

"Knock knock, who's there? Jev. Jev who? I Jev you so much, hehe."

...

The hell.

"Hehe."

Callen and Jevo are having a talk about some stuffs, while I'm just resting my whole self. Throughout the driving, Rauxe is quiet. He's way different now, why is he helping me with his two other police friends? It's awkward.

Yet a mystery.

"Where are we going?" Out of nowhere, I asked. Callen and Jevo are now sleeping and it's just the two of us, keeping ourselves awake. I look at my watch to know how long I've been outside since I ran away, it's quarter to 4 AM.

"You'll see," Rauxe is just focusing his drive way to I don't know where.

"Then, why are you doing this? Why are you... Why are you suddenly came out there and now you're helping me? What's the matter? Will you bully me again, huh? Is that what you want?"

A minute of silence, he didn't answer me and I can't help it but to guess. I hate curiosity, fuck it. "Why, SPO2 Rauxe Cole Alejandro?"

"You know my name, huh?" He smirks.

"Why wouldn't I? Bullying me since I moved here, how could you not expect me to stalk you?"

It's true! What he did to me were all so nauseating! I can't even fight back but that doesn't me— oh my God.

Fuck! Did I just admit that I stalked him?!

"So, you're a, my stal—"

"No!" I screamed, the reason why Callen and Jevo lay their eyes at us. "I mean, I-I did not. I did not do that!"

"Hmm hmm, I see." He answered but doesn't really believe me.

"Are you guys fighting?" Jevo asked with his drowsy voice. We both look at him and at each other, I have to snob. Tss. I look again at the side mirror, I can't even see a police car so apparently they are gone.

Silence again. I lean my back at the car seat and look out the window. The weather is fine, well it doesn't have to be worse sometimes. Through the years I've been bullied by Rauxe, we didn't have chances to be in the same place for a long time. I cross my arms, remembering how destiny destined us to see each other's annoying presence. The day that I had to go to the market and he suddenly came out of nowhere to throw papers at me. The day that I accidentally put my coffee on the table outside my house, he was there too and mixed it with coke and gums. He is always there when I'm happy, when I'm sad, when I'm mad, when I'm empty. He is always there, not to help but to bully me.

Yet he's still here beside me.

"Hey. Wake up," I can hear Callen's voice but my soul doesn't want to wake up. It's still sleeping. "Wake up— what's her name again?"

Seconds later, I heard him closing the door like he's that much angry. Why are they so loud, I'm still sleepy!

"Fuck," I have to curse for I am caught off guard. He really did open the door knowing that my head was on the window! Ugh, fuck him really, forever and ever.

My head is on his chest. I open my eyes and see Callen and Jevo, staring at us with opened mouth, laughing at its finest. Tss.

"I said wake up," I immediately lift my head and look at him timidly. He's looking on the other side so it's easy for me to glance at his jaw— perfect. Why does he make me uncomfortable, as always? Like something misery is flowing through his body and I can't just guess why. His eyes are expressive yet unreadable.

"Let's go," they walk out and I have to follow them. I think I am in a big garden, there are so many trees and different plants. Then, I heard a bark. Obviously, there's a dog. I look for it since I do love animals and when I see a mini house full of lights, I am mesmerized by the view! Simple yet classic.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"Rauxe's masterpiece."

What?

"This is yours?" Shockily, I asked again. I didn't know he has things like these. Well, it is not questionable at all since his house located next to me is really big, much bigger than mine. And I don't think he has people with him, I don't see them at home.

"You'll hide here."

"What?" What did he just say really makes my heart beats fast. What does he mean by that? Hide?

"Hide or I'll take you back."

I keep quiet, of course I don't want to go back in there. Now that I'm wanted, for sure they will keep a watch on me until I get caught.

As we go inside of his mini house, it is not that typical nipa hut you can see in the movies. It is when you first look at it, but it's not once you enter. All things are colored in matte black. There is this fine kitchen, a wide living room that will prolly gives you a cozy vibe, a balcony, and two rooms. Maybe I live for this elegance.

"Go get some sleep," Rauxe said. "We'll just rest for a while and go to work by 6."

I just nod at them and walk in the other room. Why isn't he looking at me? I noticed it since he saved me. Oh, he saved me, yeah.

"You'll be safe here, Otep." Rauxe added. I just look down and enter the room. Now, he's back for calling me Otep. I suddenly remember the day he was at my home to get me, what was the "get a lawyer" for?

I immediately lay my body in bed. How much I miss this soft and clean bed, ugh. I have to rest for I will need an energy later. It's puerile how a good girl like me came just to be wanted by policemen now.

Maybe I was born for good yet I have not been caught for being mad.
