Chapter 58: Blood Contract

Irina and Keno were still inside the book of memories, however, the only one they could see was the spirit of Keno. He was moving like a ghost within the walls and throughout the rooms. Alone.

Irina kept looking at him, not moving a moment her beautiful green eyes. It was like a window of time passing in front of her, but each year her little hands clenched harder, piercing her soft skin.

She wanted to just go inside and make his company, make him smile again, and let him remember how to feel happiness, sadness, anger, anything.

His eyes were losing their shine and will to exist. It was as if he was letting himself go and wanted to vanish. His eyes looked vacant without emotion with the only desire to finally go, to die.

The strong spirit of the man that saved hundreds from slavery was now fading into the abyss of oblivion. Irina couldn't help but tear and sob, however, she didn't stop looking. At least, she wanted to be there for him.
