Chapter 0-Prologue
My name is Haru and I'm an Otaku.
It's a word used to describe people that are obsessed with anime and manga, but it's also no a very nice term, it's sometimes used to insult people.
Which happened to me a lot.
I was called many things.
But I'll spear you the waste of time that it would be to tell you them.
I'll just say that most of he people that knew me called me an Otaku and called me as such, even my parents, who were well-respected in the world of business, insulted me when they saw me.
I spent most of my time out of the house, and when I turned eighteen, they literally payed me a million dollars to get me out of their house and move far away.
I used that money to move to America and rent a small one person apartment in New York City, I was going to live my life how I wanted, and I continued to do that even in America.
I got a Job at a cafe down the street, and bought everything I needed online and only left the house to go to work.
After a few months had passed my older sister Sakura, who unlike my parents actually cared for me, came for a visit.
That was the first time I had explored the City and went to Central Park.
And it ended how I thought it would end, with me doing something stupid and getting hurt.
My older sister was in New York to help my Parents with a business deal, and when she decided to come over for a visit, she made the decision that she was going to drag me out for the day and explore the city with her.
I had just shipped the latest issues of Nanatsu No Taizai and DanMachi over from my home country of Japan and was about to start reading them, when Sakura showed up with a map of the city and a few brochures.
"we're going out for the day, and your going to like it" she said with a look of conviction and happiness across her face.
I just stood there in surprise and let her drag me out of the house as I was too mentally exhausted to put up much of an argument.

It was about a full three hours later when it happened.
Sakura had just left me a few blocks away from my house, saying that the meeting she was supposed to attend was about to start.
As I was quickly making my way back to my apartment building, I saw something out of the corner of my eye.
There was a little girl in the middle of the road, she was sending down to pick up something, it looked like a doll of some kind, but for some reason, before she even noticed, I started to move in response.
There was a truck speeding towards her, the driver looked panicked, but his face seemed to drain of colour when he noticed me and the girl in the middle of the road.
Just as he tried to stop I pushed the girl out of the way, Savign her, but getting me hit by the truck in the process.
As I laid there in the middle of the street, bloodied and broken.
I had one thought.
It was an old saying that my grandmother had said to me when I was a kid.
It dominated my cloudy mind.
"Fate will as Fate does, there is no way to alter it, just be prepared and stride towards it at full speed"
These words seemed to fit my situation pretty well.
I aw my state in front of me, I didn't like it, but I accepted it, and ran full speed towards it.
Now as my mind began to slip, I had only one regret.
I would never get to do this again.
Because as much as I hated it, going out today with Sakura, was the best day of my life.
