22: Sinful Angel

Noah felt a prick on his chest, imagine Lara being pulled away from him by an unstoppable force- knowing he wouldn't be able to stop it when it comes, pains him so.

The nasty feeling of dread; fear spreading in his soul like an infection that was slowly eating him away. If Lara breaks her agreement with her father she'll be sent back without hesitation. And he can't afford that. He can't lose her now. He will not let that happen.

"I forbid you from using your powers then..." He said, coming into a decision by himself, "It's the best way to prevent you from breaking the deal... Continue keeping your identity hidden from other people, Stefani and I will protect you if something happens."

Stefani nodded in agreement to his words, "Noah's right. We're strong enough to protect you so stick with us and let us do it. We won't let anything happen to you. Especially in my watch."

"Thank you..." Lara felt touched by their determination to help her in this situation. She really wants to stay and spend her time experiencing what her mother wanted her to experience.

"That's 3 today..." Stefani said with a grin, reminding Lara of their deal days ago, "2 chances left and your thank you's for today are up."

Lara laughed softly, knowing what she meant by that she nodded. "Yes, ma'am."

"Don't forget, okay?" Stefani narrowed her eyes at Lara. The little cupcake might have forgotten about their deal if she didn't start counting the instances she said the magic words.

Lara nodded and smiled, "I won't..."

"You better..." Stefani reached out and patted Lara's head like a big sister, "Trust me. I won't let you get dragged away, especially after knowing how cute you are when being teased..." she said, pinching Lara in the cheeks.

Noah watched Stefani and Lara talking animately in front of him like he wasn't there. They look like they have their own personal bubble and he wasn't included in it.

Actually, Noah doesn't understand the first thing they were talking about. And it annoyed him to no end that he doesn't have a clue what it was about.

He secretly glared at Stefani. Envious of her as she continues to talk to his mate.

Lara's Apartment...

"You promised!" Rachel whined on the phone when Lara called her that she'll stay indoors for tonight. They were supposed to go out and celebrate!

Lara can only sigh though. She's tired, mentally tired. And she forgot about the whole clubbing thing 'coz she got busy with work.

Tomorrow was Saturday, so it was the best time to go partying. Rachel is good to go. So is Chance who is on his way to choose their outfits so Lara had no excuse to get herself out of it, obviously.

Stefani had a lot on her plate. Especially regarding the newest construction project the company is focused on.

Lara volunteered to help her since she finished most of her tasks and so far there's still a lot to work to do. She was willing to work overtime but Stefani convinces her to go home.

Noah also offered to drive her home so she wasn't able to refuse to leave. Good thing the ride home with him was comfortably silent. It wasn't awkward or anything at all. They just felt comfortable there sitting beside each other in silence, holding each other's hand.

They were taking things slow. And Lara loved that they weren't rushing things between them.

"Okay, fine. I have nothing to wear though."

At Lara's words, Rachel happily gave a solution to that.

"That's fine. I have a dress for you so you're good."

Guess she'll really party tonight...

Lara gave Rachel her address before they ended the call. Since her apartment was in the middle of the city, they're going to dress themselves up in her house.

Lara closed her eyes a bit as she waited. When she heard her doorbell ringing, she opened her door and both: Rachel and Chance pounced on her.

"We're here!"

They excitedly went inside her home.

"Wow. I didn't know your apartment was this nice?" Chance said, appreciating her stuff.

Lara smiled, "This was a surprise gift from my father..."

"You're rich?" Rachel asked, wide-eyed.

"I don't know about that. I guess we're just... comfortable?"

"That's what rich people say."

Chance pointed out making Rachel nod in agreement.

Lara shook her head, laughing. "What time is the club opening?"

"In..." Chance glance at his watch counting the time, "2 and a half hours tops? We have to hurry."

Rachel jumped on her feet and immediately played a badass playlist on Lara's home speakers to set the mood.

"Okay, ladies. Get your ass in the showers... I already bathed so I'll get the makeup and the hair dyer as you freshen up." Chance snapped his fingers like a boss and started giving orders at them as he unpacked the make-up kits he brought with him. Minutes later, Rachel and Lara came out of the bathroom with a robe and a towel on their head.

Rachel squealed, saying Lara's bathroom was the best. Lara didn't get what she meant by that though. She thinks her bathroom was okay. Complete with the things she needed to clean herself.

Chance ushered the ladies to take a seat started drying Lara's hair while Rachel did hers by herself in front of the mirror. Minutes later Rachel was done, she was quick with dolling herself up and when she's done, she helped Chance in doing Lara's make-up.

"I swear the boys will swarm you like bees tonight." Rachel winked applying mascara on her. "When they see you in the dress I picked out for you, they'd absolutely flip!"

"Ooh... Lemme see. Lemme see." Chance excitedly said looking for the dress.

Rachel pointed at the bed.

Chance picked up the dress and studied it. "Hmm." He droned. Glancing at Lara and the dress back and forth to see if it really matches her. It's a white, body-hugging, long sleeve dress made of lace that has a low neckline showing her cleavage. It's innocent and sexy. Totally matches Lara's style and personality. "I agree. You'll look like a sinful angel in this, Lara-bells..."
