Chapter 19: We will meet again
"Want to escape?", A giant hole was made on the roof.
"Go, I will hold him", Kazakh said.
"I said, none of you are going to leave from here alive!", the source of the voice showed up, which is a white-haired old man with a face that looks like a corpse.
"Go!", Kazakh started to attack the old man.
"Hmph pest", But before the attack can hit, Kazakh was bounced backward.
"You... breakthrough? no, this is demonic energy. You're going on the demonic way!", Kazakh observed the old man prowess and found out the old man was full of dark energy like substance
"Are you not afraid of other sects hunting you?!", Kazakh said.
"I don't care! I only care to be stronger, and when I do, the one that tries to hunt me will pay the price!", The old man laughs sinisterly.
"Since you're all going to die, I will tell you that I eat souls! So your souls will be my food! Hahahahaha!", The laugh became maniacal.
"Go! Go!", Kazakh urge the three girls to go.
"No one will escape!", The old man created a cage with a dark substance that trapped Su Li and the 3 girls inside.
"Damn...", Kazakh was in a pinch right now. If he saved the girl now, there is a chance the old man gonna sneak attack him, and everything is going to be lost.
Now his only chance is to defeat the old man. He knows that he couldn't beat him, but he has to try so he started to attack the old man recklessly.
"Hey, I don't know there is a party here", At this time, a voice interrupted them. It sounded hoarse.
"Who?", the wretched old man look around and found no one.
"Hehe, no need to search I'm over here", Then an old man with a white and golden robe appeared from behind the cage.
Seeing the newcomer, the wretched old man's expression darkened.
"Li Ming! this is none of your business!", the wretched old man's expression didn't seem too good.
"Oh Lu Zhao, you never change. That stupidity of yours is still the same haha", Li Ming laughed unrestrainedly.
"You! don't think that my strength is the same as last time!", Lu Zhao pointing finger, trembled because of anger.
"Well, I don't come here for you", Li Ming ignored the fuming Lu Zhao and look inside the cage.
"So, little girl, will you accept it?", Li Ming asked Li Yun.
"Li Yun? what is he talking about?", Xiao Ling asked.
"If you accept it, I can help your friend escape", Li Ming said.
"I...", Li Yun was in a dilemma.
"Li Yun, did he asked something bad from you? tell me", Xiao Ling asked with an urge and a little bit of anger.
"No, he just wants me to be his disciple and back to his sect to train, but... I cannot bring you guys with me", Li Yun said.
"No one other than the disciples can know the sect, that is the rule", Li Ming said though feeling a little bit of guilt, he didn't want to let this golden seed go.
"Why choose Li Yun? We can't be sure that you don't have any bad intention", Xiao Ling is very protective and still didn't trust this new stranger she met.
"How about this miss, you don't have much choice but to trust me, otherwise I don't think any of you can survive here, of course, I will protect the girl because she's important to me", He ignored Xiao Ling hostility and decided to use a little rough method.
"You... see Li Yun, he probably has a bad intention, don't trust him!", Xiao Ling said to Li Yun.
"... Can you really help us?", after thinking for a while, Li Yun finally decided to agree.
"Li Yun, why?", Xiao Ling couldn't accept it.
"Xiao Ling, do you think this is a game?", Li Yun asked softly.
"Is it not? I mean, we do log in and stuff like that, and there's also a quest", Xiao Ling answered immediately.
"Then tell me, these... NPCs we see right now, are you sure they are not real people?", Li Yun asked again.
"M-maybe they are the developers! they probably want to test the game right?", Xiao Ling answered, but she herself didn't sure of it.
"Then... you look at the news right?", Li Yun asked one more time.
"Is it that news?", Xiao Ling quickly remembers the news in the morning.
"That's right, the one who dies in this game... fell into a coma", Li Yun tells her the news again.
"But that doesn't mean that it's because of the game right? It's probably some other thing or maybe a coincidence!", Xiao Ling didn't believe it.
"So many people fell coma at the time when their friends were watching them died in the game, is that really a coincidence?", Li Yun asked once again.
"I...", Xiao Ling also began to doubt it herself.
"I think this is more than a game now, I know it's weird but it's like a second world where our 'soul?' passed, and probably when we die on this world then our soul will disappear", Li Yun explained.
"If it's true, I don't want Su Li or any of us fell into a coma and this is the only way we won't die in this game", Li Yun said.
"This...", Xiao Ling is having a hard time digesting what is happening.
"Wait, Li Yun... how about Su Li?", Xiao Ling gave up on holding her from going.
"We... will meet again, in the future", Li Yun stood up and faced the old man.
"Well then, looks like you already made your decision", Li Ming smiled.
"Get us out of here", Li Yun looks cold.
"Heh, at least smile when you ask people", Li Ming grinned and then whistled.
'Craaa!', A sound of a bird came from outside.
While fighting Kazakh, Lu Zhao look at their way and noticed their interaction.
"What are you doing!", Coupled with the sound outside, Lu Zhao knew something was off.
"Well, these kids are now under my protection so you could now leave", Li Ming didn't care about Lu Zhao and prefer to leave quickly.
"Even you cannot fight with the two of us right?", Li Ming carelessly said.
"Grr, I'll kill you all!", Lu Zhao exploded with evil energy and attacked Li Ming in a frontal way.
"Bai!", Li Ming quickly shouted and a white light quickly flashed to intercept Lu Zhao's attack from the side.
"Ugh", Lu Zhou suffered from the attack which seems to be a claw mark.
Then a big white bird landed on the side of Li Ming, ready to protect him from any danger.
"You... just you wait, I WILL COME BACK AND YOU WILL ALL SUFFERED FATE WORSE THAN DEATH!", Lu Zhao shouted loudly and then started to disappear into the night. The cage that trapped the 4 girls also disappeared.
"Hmph, finally gone", Li Ming didn't look like he cares about it.
"Well then, we should go", Li Ming looked at Li Yun.
"No, not yet", Li Yun shook her head.
"Do you want to cancel the agreement?", Li Ming's expression became grimaced.
"No, I just want to accompany them until they reach their destination", Li Yun explained. She is afraid, that Lu Zhao will come back after they left.
"...Alright then, I will escort you all", Li Ming said after thinking for a while.
"Let's go now, we don't know when will he return", Kazakh returned with pretty tattered clothes, but he seems to be fine.
"Let's go then", Huang Xue nodded and showed the tunnel.
"No, that would take too long", Li Ming disagrees.
"Bai can you escort all of us", Li Ming looked at the bird beside him.
"Craa!", The bird called Bai seems happy and then his body started to expand and became a massive bird.
"Now all of you get up", Li Ming jumped up the bird and turned to look at the dumbfounded crowd.
"Is this a demon bird?", Huang Xue asked.
"Is it not? don't waste my time by asking a question, I still have much business to do", Li Ming waved his hand and signaled them to get up quickly.
Bai is pretty smart as to lower its wings for them to climb up. The three girls let Su Li lay in the middle while they surrounded her. Kazakh also jumped up the bird and sit at the back.
"Alright then let's go", Li Ming signaled bai to go.
"Craa!", Bai lifted its massive wings high up and slammed it down. It repeated this movement and its body started to lift pretty quickly. Finally, after a few flaps of its wing, they passed through the hole on the roof and surprised the passerby.
"Where are we going?", Li Ming asked.
"I will lead the way", Huang Xue volunteered.
"Bai, listen to where she wants to go", Li Ming told Bai to listen to Huang Xue's command.
"Craa...", Bai doesn't seem to like it but well it didn't seems to refuse.
"Then go...", Huang Xue started to navigate the way.
After a while, they arrived before a huge forest entrance.
"We need to walk from here", Huang Xue said and stepped down first while holding Su Li on her back then Xiao Ling while holding Su Li from behind. Their position is a little awkward but this is the best they could do.
"Then we will leave now", Li Ming didn't want to waste any more time and just wanted to command Bai to leave.
"Wait", Li Yun stopped him.
"What?", Li Ming was confused about why she stopped him.
"I just wanted to say goodbye", Li Yun said and then jumped to the ground.
"Make it quick, I don't have much free time", Li Ming didn't stop her.
"Well, I don't know why, but it seems like we won't meet pretty soon", Li Yun slowly touched Su Li's cheek. For a second, her eyelashes seem to tremble.
"I only hope it just a feeling", Li Yun slowly let go. In a flash second, her eyes turned a little gold then back to normal again.
"Are you done?", Li Ming asked.
"Mhm...", Li Yun gave him a bland answer.
Li Yun got on top of the Bai bird and looked back.
"Be safe... till we meet again".
