Chapter 1: His Reason
"Hey, why are you already here? You should have enjoy your time with your friends..." He said and hugged me, I hugged him back.
It was comforting.
"Are you okay?" He asked while hugging me, I didn't answer.
I don't even know how to feel, I expected them to betray me but not her, my best friend. All this time she was the one leaking everything from the plans of the company, I don't want to be mad and I'm not.
I want to hear her explanation but not right now.
I hugged him even tighter cause I feel like I was about to cry, he was surprised when he felt that I was crying.
This was the first time I cried in front of him and he's also the first person to see me cry.
I am not usually like this, I don't know what makes today so different when in fact I'm immune to betrayal.
He was gently patting my back and my hair and because of that I can't help but to cry harder, for the first time I really felt that someone's by my side.
"Hey... everything will be alright..." he said reassuring me while patting me. He sounded so sincere, it makes me want to believe in him.
After a few minutes, still in the position of us hugging together and me in my calmer self that's when the door opened loudly.
I saw Eros entering the room and looking for something.
We immediately separated and looked Eros in confusion.
"Sorry my lady and your highness," he bowed and immediately continued to talk, "This room is bugged and has a camera that's hidden somewhere here being broadcast in the national tv at the moment." He said and a lot of bodyguards came in searching for the hidden camera.
I was looking in his way when he suddenly talked, "Gun." he said.
Eros immediately gave it to him and right away fired it to a specific direction in the room.
I was taken aback when I heard the gunshot.
"The room is still bugged your highness, it's better to leave immediately with the Lady." Eros said, he agreed.
We immediately left the room and the place a long with Eros and the Elite team of Eros the rest was left there to investigate more.
We got to the palace and immediately welcomed by worried faces, it was his highness family.
The royal family of Breseon's of the Breseo Country.
After reassuring them that we're both fine, everyone went back to their palaces to do what they need to do.
I am currently at the balcony of our bedroom, my room and his highness bedroom, and currently drinking tea to calm myself down after watching myself in tv and news.
Gosh, I just look... hay, terrible.
Everyone was happy to know our relationship, everyone was cheering and supporting us, we even have our shippers.
For almost a year we've been keeping our relationship private, everyone knows about our relationship but they can't really tell whether if it was true or not.
Many tried to follow us and install camera and recorders just to know what kind of relationship do we really have, no one succeeded except the one earlier.
It makes me wonder if Zeron let it happen or it was just a security check failure.
Even if Zeron was the one to let it slide, it won't even benefit him, and if worse we were caught, it won't benefit the both of us.
Like I said earlier, I wasn't myself earlier. It was our first time to have that kind of conversation and even have that kind of interaction.
As I felt the coldness of the night into my skin, I was back to the reality, to my reality.
And that's when I knew that he was beside me, looking at me deeply.
"What are you thinking?" He asked.
I was actually shocked by his question, this is the first time that he talked to me without people telling him that he should.
"About what happened earlier." I answered him.
I don't know but my heart is racing and I don't know what's the reason.
Maybe... am nervous because this is the first time he really wanted to talk to me... that must be it.
"I wanted to ask about that also, why did you cry?" He asked me and this time I felt that he was curious.
I feel like that must be the reason, he must be really curious about what made me cry earlier.
It was so un-me.
I'm also curious, what made me cry? What made me feel that way?
It was because I was betrayed? I just don't think that was the main reason.
"I... don't know." I answered honestly.
Why do I feel like I'm gonna cry again? Argh, this is seriously not how I should act especially in front of him.
I looked at him and he was already looking at me, trying to figure me out.
"What made you do it?" I asked him without thinking.
I saw that he was shocked and quickly composed himself.
"You knew?" He asked with amusement on his face.
"Pure guess, so I guess I'm right." I told him and looked at the bright moon above.
"I wanted to break our relationship that was the only way to do it for my father to let you go." He answered, I really felt his sincerity to help me.
But it's not going to be a good one for the both of us, if we were caught in the camera not talking to each other.
Literally, ignoring each other, that's what we do every single day.
We had an agreement that if one acts weirdly then you have to just go with the flow and the fact that we don't talk to each other, that's how I just know it but what I showed earlier was how I really felt that time.
Today was different, indeed.
"Don't do it again." I told him seriously while looking him in the eyes, he was confused.
And his eyes was asking 'why' and I just couldn't ignore it.
"It's gonna hurt the two of us and the only one who's going to be free is me, not the both of us." I told him.
The other way to do it is to be married and be independent couple, it's just hard for the both of us because we're not romantically involved with each other.
I'm paying for the sins of my family while he doesn't want to be involved with politics especially with the royal throne.
That's why I have to marry him to pay for my family's sins and while in his side, he needs a wife to be able to have choices that he needs.
"Then," he paused as if he's waiting for me to look at him and that's what I did and the next thing he said shocked me.
"Let's make this work." He firmly said, I believe it's not a suggestion. He said it authoritatively.
