Chapter 134: It Is Finished

(At the Earth kingdom)

"She's really gone?" Valentina yelled in astonishment.

"According to Mateo, Licia killed herself," Antonio said as she looked at the woman sitting in front of him.

"I can't believe she actually killed herself for a man. She must've loved King Cameron so much."

"She was suppose to—"

Before he was able to continue, a little boy suddenly came and asked what they were talking about. Valentina and Antonio then looked at the direction of the voice and say Gabriel.

"We're just talking about some unfinished business, Gabriel," Antonio said.

Gabriel folded his arms. "Hmmm... You're acting strange."

Valentina laughed. "He can see through you, Antonio."

"Mother, what is it that you and father are talking about?" the little boy asked.

"Gabriel, I hope you can you can understand that you're still too young for this okay?" Valentina answered.

"You don't want to tell me? Then fine," Gabriel said as he walked away.

(In the dining hall)

"Father and mother won't tell me!" Gabriel furrowed his eyebrows.

"Maybe they were just too busy," Lucy assumed.

Gabriel then folded his arms and asked her why his parents had to keep to many things from him.

"They are discussing about the incident that happened a few days ago," Lucy said as she was chopping the meat.

Gabriel's eyes widened. "What happened?"

"Someone got hurt at the Water kingdom. That's all we can tell you. No more questions okay?"

"This is so boring."

"I heard that Ruby left a few days ago. What happened?"

"Long story, but mother has already allowed her to leave."

"Did she figure out that the power wasn't real?"

Gabriel sighed, "Of course she did. Mother told her, and she got angry."

A few hours later...

(At the royal garden)

"What are you thinking about? You aren't being yourself lately?" Charlotte asked as she looked at the man standing in front of her.

"I feel guilty for lying to Charlotte about her powers. I feel like I'm being perfidious," Mark answered.

"It's not our fault. Queen Valentina was the one who ordered us to do it. She's the one who should be guilty."

"We didn't even get to apologize before she left."

Charlotte hugged him. "I'm sure she'll understand. Ruby is a thoughtful woman."

"Why-Why did you hug me...?"

"Any problem with that? I haven't hugged you in ages."

Mark looked away. "This is too unexpected."

Charlotte laughed. "Seems like you don't have a stomach anymore."

"What? I never had one! My stomach has always been flat!"

"Well, you've been eating a lot lately. Don't you think that you're starting to lose your figure?"

Mark's face reddened. "Are you saying that—"

"Don't worry, I still love you for who you are." Charlotte chuckled.

"Whatever."

Charlotte kissed his cheek. "You do know that Ruby doesn't belong here right? She was jobless which is why Valentina wanted her to look after Gabriel while they were away."

"Then why did she leave?"

"I guess she's found a new job. It's been weeks since she left, and you're still thinking about her? What about me? What do you think I'd feel when you keep talking about another woman?"

Mark laughed. "Don't tell me you're..."

Charlotte folded her arms. "That's right. I'm jealous, so stop talking about her before I lose my mind."

Mark cupped her face and stared into her eyes. "You're the only woman I've ever laid my eyes on."

Charlotte looked away as her face reddened. "I know, so you should treasure our times together."

"I love you, forever and always."

Mark kissed him. "I love you too, Mark."
