Chapter 3: A Grand Opportunity.

"Don't make me repeat myself. Go home," says an older and fierce looking kid.

'I should leave,' Ambrose thought.

He doesn't want to cause any trouble with these guys, but could not abandon the defenseless boy either.

'Beating them up may bring unnecessary attention to myself. I'll like to avoid that,' Ambrose said inwardly.

"Is there a problem, boys?" The deep voice of an adult came to their hearing.

The presence of this strange adult gave the bullies shivers. This is no ordinary individual. His demeanor is an evident reason to believe so.

"Ah, no, nothing at all," one bully said. He had a forced smile that hides a bit of fear within.

The grown-up is a somewhat middle-aged man with an outstanding mustache. His eyes kept roaming between Ambrose and the other boys.

"I suppose you should take your leave then," he said.

"Yeah, yes, of course," they replied and hurried off.

Without a word, young Ambrose walked away. This wasn't the right action, but he just needed to keep his distance.

"Hmm, not even a thank you,"

Something felt unusual within the young Ambrose. However, unable to discern what the problem is, the middle-aged man left with the other child.

. . .

"How long can you keep your true self hidden?" A devil voice resounded through Ambrose's head.

"It's just a matter of time before you'll be exposed," it added.

Ambrose kept a poker face as he continued onward, not uttering a single word until he got home.

Flashback>>>

Two human figures warped through space to the same area that had been struck by lightning. Both of them had no physical body, they looked more transparent than should be.

"This is indeed his doing,"

"Yeah, his presence is evident... Does this mean salvation for the demon clan?"

"We do not know if he really has awakened," the disguised figure replied, "We'll wait and see."

Both individuals exited the scene seconds late, without a word. Whatever plans they have, only time will tell.

Present>>>

"Ambrose, get prepared, there is someone I want you to meet," Blythe sounded enthusiastic.

"I don't want to meet anyone," Ambrose said. He's clearly not interested.

"This is very important and for your future," she said.

"Don't care,"

"Sometimes I wonder if you're just a four year old kid,"

["Oops, looks like you're breaking your cover,"] says the devil's voice.

"Alright, fine, I'll get prepared," says the reluctant Ambrose.

Minutes later, Ambrose and his mom came down from a cart right inside a prestigious environment.

"Ms. Blythe, to what do we owe this visit?" An exquisite woman came down through the stairs.

"It's a pleasure to be in your presence," Blythe said respectfully.

"Oh please, don't be so formal,"

'I hate this woman's gut,' thought Ambrose.

He could sense an extensive amount of pride emitting this lady. She is most likely looking down on Blythe.

"I hear Dexter lives with you. I was hoping to speak with him?".

'What is the woman trying to achieve?' Naveah's brow furrowed deeply.

"What do you want to speak with him about?" she questioned.

Noting Ambrose's presence, she could guess what Blythe came here for. It is the same reason everyone had been visiting her home lately.

"It's... confidential," Blythe could already sense a bit of hostility radiating from Nevaeh.

"Dexter isn't with us," Nevaeh said, most likely pissed due to Blythe's words.

"But I heard..."

"It doesn't matter what you heard, Dexter isn't with us,"

'I should kill this woman.' thought the young Ambrose.

"Alright... if you say so... we will take our leave,"

Though reluctant, Blythe could stay no more. While gently placing her hand on Ambrose's shoulder, she turned around to leave.

"I heard my name multiple times. Hope I'm not in trouble?" Dexter walked out of the building. This was unexpected, especially to Nevaeh.

"Ah, Dexter... you're inside?" Nevaeh was caught off guard. Now she tried to play dumb.

"Did you smack your head on a wall?" Dexter wondered. He isn't helping Nevaeh with her act.

"Long time no see," he spoke to Blythe, ignoring the arrogant woman.

Ambrose recognized this person. He is the same adult he had met. The guy with an outstanding mustache.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you at a time like this," says Blythe in a polite tone.

"I see no reason to be disturbed," Dexter replied. "Though it seems miss Nevaeh isn't happy at your presence,"

His last words were embarrassing for Nevaeh (for obvious reasons)

"You must be Ambrose,"

"I don't remember telling you my name,"

"That's because you didn't… I met Ackley, and he told me all about you," Dexter clarified.

"How old are you, boy?"

"I'm four years of age," says Ambrose in reply.

"Still too young... I promised your dad to take you with me, but you have to be at an eligible age."

"How old are we talking about?" Blythe asked.

"At least six years of age," Replied Dexter.

"That's..."

"Too long? Hahaha, I spend most of my time traveling. I need him to be young and agile enough to keep up with me," says Dexter, "Don't worry about his education, I will handle that also,"

"I understand," Blythe says. She is a little relieved.

"So I'll be seeing you in two years," Dexter said while escorting them outside the premises, ignoring Nevaeh all the way.

"Damn it! I can't believe this chance slipped past me,"

Nevaeh is losing it. Her anger is elevated to the very brim.

"Colton!" Nevaeh called out to someone the moment she stepped inside.

"Yes, Ms. Nevaeh," an individual respectfully replied.

"I need your help," she said.

"Anything within my power, I will do just so," says Colton.

"Find out who that boy is,"

"What boy?"

"Ackley's son,"

"Ackley has a son?" Colton asked. "I did not know,"

"That's why I'm asking you to find out,"

"Yes, I understand," Colton replied, and went to work.

Ambrose had received a Grimoire from Dexter, this is to enhance his magical skill in the next two years. Ambrose, however, is just too lazy to open it.

However, in order not to raise any suspicion, he would have to pretend to read them, just in case.

"Ms. Blythe, where is Ambrose?"

A little girl strolled towards Blythe's home. Her friends are standing right behind her, waiting for their next playmate to join the team.

"He should be outside with you guys,"

"But we haven't seen him," the little girl replied, on which the other kids nodded in agreement.

Now Blythe is worried...
