Chapter 2: 2~ Strange Feelings
Draco POV:
Back in the Slytherin common room, I finger the euro I took from Hermione. Why do I feel so different? I stood up and walked to my dormitory. I sit on my bed, laying on my green blankets. I take the euro out of my pocket and look at it more closely. Why do I feel different about Hermione than I did before? She's just a mudblood and I shouldn't feel anything towards her. I place the euro on my nightstand and get changed into my pajamas. Soon enough, I'm asleep.
The great hall is crowded when I get in there. Pansy somehow finds her way over to me and holds my hand.
"C'mon Draco, I saved you a seat!" she pulled me toward the Slytherin table. I look over at the Gryffindor table and see Hermione laughing at something that Harry had said. Pansy tugs on my sleeve and I start eating my breakfast.
Hermione POV:
"Then Draco stole my euro and ran away with it!" I said to Ron and Harry at breakfast.
"He's a Malfoy, he thinks he can take whatever he wants. The Malfoys think they own the world. He's a spoiled brat." Harry said. I laughed. Just then, I saw Draco staring at me. He didn't have that obnoxious smirk on his face, but instead, he looked sad. Or maybe confused? I couldn't tell. I only looked at him for a second, so I didn't see much.
After Breakfast I head to Charms. I finish my assignment early, so I have time to relax. I sit back in my chair and think about Draco. Why did he look so strange this morning? Maybe Pansy cheated on him again? That's probably what it was. She's cheated on him quite a few times, so that would be pretty normal. Soon, the class is over and I head out with Ron and Harry.
Draco POV:
All through Potions I think about Hermione. Why do I feel this way? I've never felt like this around Pansy, so this isn't love. IT CAN'T BE! I can't have any feelings except hate for a mudblood.
"Well done, Mr. Malfoy," Snape said to me as he passed my cauldron. As we walk out of the dungeon, Pansy comes over to me.
"You've been acting weird lately, Draco," she said, linking her arm in mine.
"I'm fine, I think I ate something bad last night at dinner or something." I lie, not wanting to upset her.
"Well, I hope you feel better soon." She says, placing a kiss on my cheek.
