Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Evolution
Chaos broke loose. Explosions and intimidating roars were heard from the distance, deep within the canyon.
The burning smell of blood, the smell of destruction, loomed over the air as every beasts ran with all their might.
No one looks back, no one dared to. For they know, that if they somehow got in the middle of the fight between those two Overlords, they can say good bye to their lives.
The deafening explosions continued, and the roars of both pain and rage traveled in the air.
Thunderous roars and the wails of pain was what can only be heard.
Every beasts cower in fear, escaped, hid. None dared to move from their place.
Even after all the commotion died down, none have the guts to go and check on the situation.

[After the battle...]
"Ugh~. What's with this f*cking head ache?! *Sigh!* Damn..."
I groaned as I came to.
I don't know how long I've been out after fainting, but from the looks of things, it's already been quite a while.
Looking around, all I can see were the destruction the fight have caused.
Large rubbles were strewn every where, and the formerly grand-looking canyon is no where to be seen.
Shaking my head, I looked towards the poison dragon and once again heaved a sigh of relief.
*Sigh!*
"Fortunately... Fortunately that guy didn't get back up again! Man~! That was one hell of an opponent that I swear I won't be fighting again any time soon~!."
I said and tried to get on my four limbs.
After managing to stand up, I walked towards the poison dragon, now a corpse.
But still, this guy didn't even shrunk down! It maintained its giant size!
"Oh well, guess this is his original size? But how can he do that exactly? A size alteration skill maybe? Hm. Possible~. But I'll worry about that later, for now... Phew~. It's time to claim my loot!"
I said as a smile appeared on my face.
I touched the poison dragon's carcass with my tail and stored it in my Inventory.
"Hehehe~. Let's see what I got!"

"Ha... Haha... Hahaha~! Finally! My next evolution~! I'm finally going to evolve! But f*ck it! Why does it have to set a time frame on its own~?! Gotta get back to my cave immediately!"
With that and the time ticking and every second passed, I took flight and blasted through the air towards my cave.
The wind produced a shock wave that sent all the rubbles on the ground stumbling towards the canyon walls, crushing them in the process.
The wind parted as if giving way to its ruler and the air pressure became tenser and more powerful!
But that didn't stop me!
I blasted through the air, going faster and faster!
Heck! I don't even know how my evolutuon process will take place!
What if it activated while I'm still here flying and I am to actually be put to sleep or something like that?!
Wouldn't I be hurtling down towards the ground and die again?!
What if worse?! What if a sudden lightning from the sky will drop down like a tribulation?!
That would be even more terrifying!
With all my might, all my focus, dedicated to my wings as I flapped them rapidly, fully utilising their set numbers!
After fortunately reaching my cave with only three minutes to spare, I immediately went inside and dropped down beside the pool, extremely exhausted.
This exhaustion can even be said to have been the most taxing that I ever experienced!
Not even the exhaustion from fighting all those insanely powerful beasts could hold a candle to this!
And at that instant, the System notification once again sounded.

Seeing those texts, it seemed as if they were suddenly written in blood as my body shuddered!
'The f*ck! So I was right! Immense pain will follow the evolution process! Damn right with the unconscious state too!
Fortunately I will be unconscious during the process, if not... I don't know whose bastard want to take my place in withstanding that kind of pain! But I know that even a masochist will definitely cry out to make it stop!'
Soon, with those thoughts running through my mind, the world turned dark.

A cracking sound was heard.

No, literally! The egg exploded!
"Yawn~. Man~. How long was I out? Hm~? What's... this? Shells? Wait a minute... Egg shells?! Why am I covered with these things?! And why am I sitting inside its half?!"
I screamed the moment I noticed where I was sitting.
A dark, flaming colored shell was situated under me and bits and pieces of cracked shells were lying around me.
"Dafuq?! Did I just got "Re-hatched?!" Is that even possible?!
Well, considering that reincarnation is possible, then I guess... Wait~! That's not My point! Well, let's see. Let me first... Get out of this thing..."
I said and stood up and man was I surprised!
My sight just got a lot farther from the ground!
By a lot, I mean literally!
"Whoa... Just what did that single evolution do to my body?"
I wondered and finally managed to get on my four limbs and turned to the side of the pool to look at my reflection.
What greeted me was a twenty meter tall and forty or more meter long dragon!
MY! GOD!
Compared to my previous pathetic five meter tall form, this "new" body of mine is like a giant! Comparable to the size of that poison dragon from last time!
Aside from my size, there are more noticable changes to my body.
My eyes looked more profound, it's hard to describe... But it just look more deep, like it contains a lot of meaning, and experience.
My horns curved, but not like a rounded spike. It now looks more like a twisted blade. Sharp edges that keeps on gleeming with light and fierceness! It looked more like curved daggers now! This goes the same with all the blades on my shoulders!
My scales also changed. From my previous "scale-plates", they now looked more like a literal armor! Aside from my underbelly up to my undertail which were still covered with scales but only denser and looked more tougher, niw glossy black in color, the rest of my body is covered with my new "Scale Armor"!
But the changes doesn't end from just that!
My claws became sharper like scythes, and even my tail spikes became something that resembles a blade. Like a spear, just like the previous, but this time it's more pronounced as I seem to have the feeling that I can now fully control it!
And what's more?! I think I can even make it stretch and enlarge my tail!
Hot damn! This ability will be so cool~!
And now to the last change that could be seen clearly, my wings.
Or more precisely, the number of my wings once again increased! Man!
I now have three pairs of wings! All identical with the additional bladed edges on the wing tips!
"I. Look. Awesome! Hahaha~! I look so damn cool~! Bruh~! I think I'm the most handsome dragon in this world! Wait 'til the lady dragons sees this cool guy~! I'm sure they'll be swooned!

But~, then again... I need to grow up in age first. *Sigh* I'm still basically just a twelve year old right now... F*ck."
After the joy, comes the bitterness. The bitterness of the truth. That I'm still a kid, not in mind, but in body! And! I'll have to once again go through puberty! Haist~! Those teen hormones~! The hormones! The horror~!

- the upgraded version of [Absolute Absorption]. Aside from absorbing any materials consumed and turning it into raw energy for the host, this ability now have the capability to extract a skill or an ability from the consumed material for the host's use.
Sub-skill: Delete
- deletes undesirable skills or abilities gained through the skill [Devour]. Other skills that is acquired through other means except from the devourment cannot be deleted.
"Broken... Another broken ability! Hahaha~! I got another broken ability! With this, a bunch of skills and abilities are waiting for me! All that's left to do to acquire them is to eat! And eat a lot! But let's do that later, let's check the other skills first!"
[??? Tail Manipulation]
- you've got an impressive and deadly tail, so why not use it? This ability lets the user to freely manipulate his tail's length and size to his preference or to help in combat. This ability also made the user's tail more flexible to support complicated or rapid actions and movements.

- the ability to control and manipulate the crimson lightning with the power of destruction. Unlike ordinary lightning or magically induced lightning, this type of lightning is more than several times more powerful and more destructive because of its power of destruction.

- lets the user materialise or create weapons using his own bones or spikes, or even horns temporarily. The weapons made using the body parts of the user can also be merged back into his body without issues, without any uncomfort or any undesirable side effects.
Note: only external parts of the user's body can be used as weaponizing material.

[Size Alteration]
- lets the user to freely change his size to his preferences from the users current size, or smaller than one meter. No side effects or any sense of uncomfort will be felt.
"Well, at least this one is a bit normal. But it's still powerful if you ask me. *Sigh* Now that all that's done. What will I do with these? Eat them?"
I released a sigh and looked towards the pieces of egg shells and thought out loud.
Usually, newly hatched beasts(Protags) in novels eats their egg shells for additional benefits, so maybe... I can also get some? I know this sounds a little greedy, but will I really?
Walking towards the egg shells while I used my size alteration and went back to my five meter tall and meter length size, I picked a piece of egg shell while noting in my mind.
'Wow. That went smoothly more than I have expected~.'
"Mm?! Chicken?! The heck?! Wait let me taste it again... W-Why is it pork now?! Are you kidding me?!"
I exclaimed loudly as I went through every piece of egg shells around, all with different tastes!
I mean, how?! This egg shell all have the same origin and every pieces have different flavors?! How did that happen?! And I'm a dragon! Why was the first one tasted like chicken?! And then a pork?! What am I?! Some kind of a hot pot?! And why did I taste some things like desserts?!
These rants ran through my mind as I gobbled every piece of egg shells around. What can I say? They were so irresistible for me! And I don't know why, so don't ask!
In the end, I didn't acquire any new skill, but I did feel like I just gone through a food trip! A one hell of an exotic food trip!
