Chapter 3: Grudge.
Ash was somewhat confused as to why Kraine was still waiting for him even after their misunderstanding. It was odd no one would have waited, at least that was what he thought.
"I thought you left."
Kraine grit his teeth, clenched his fist and tears suddenly started to drop from the tip of his eyes.
"Am sorry for what I said earlier. I should have realized earlier that you weren't joking. I mean even though I don't have an Empathic ability. I should have understood how sad you felt about it. Am sorry, I say stupid things sometimes without thinking it through. Please forgive me."
Kraine is a very sensitive person. He cries a lot especially when he hurts someone without knowing. His green colored hair, his timid but muscular stature, green eyes, long thinnish nose and the confident smile he wears doesn't at all show that side of him.
"Come on. I wasn't mad at you, not one bit. If I were to be then I wouldn't have said anything to you when I stepped out of the clinic. Besides, aren't we friends. Let's go to class." Ash replied as he held Kraine pulling him towards a certain direction.
"I promise, I will protect you with all my might. I will never let anyone harm you." Kraine said to himself.
Ash suddenly stopped. The mood around him changed.
"Kraine?."
"Yes?. What's wrong?." Kraine replied tensed.
"Which way is to class?. Ash replied with an awkward smile.
"I don't know the way either." Kraine replied, relieved.
As they stood perplexed as to where to follow.
"There you are. What have you been doing all this while. You know there is no way we will start lectures when 2 of my Students aren't in Class. It's your first day. So you a have to be there. Come along." Malcolm said.
Malcolm showed them the way to class in case they got stranded and he wasn't there to guide them.
At the E section, they arrived at the Class, Malcolm stood in front of the class while Kraine and Ash went to the back of the class to sit due to how occupied first 3 rows were.
There were 4 rows and in each of those rows were 5 students, making a total of 20 students.
"When, I was telling you to stay out of trouble, I meant stay away from your seniors. You saw what they did to Ash. He barely survived even though he has no ability.(What Malcolm said made all the students look towards the direction of Ash in amazement). I didn't stop the fight at the first quarter even though Ash wasn't at fault because Jaden is a senior, I would have hurt his pride if I had stopped the fight earlier in front of his juniors. I won't be always there to stop your every squabble, I hope you understand."
"YES." They all chorused.
"Now I'm going to ask a very important question..... Do you know how we got our powers?."
The class was dead silent for some minutes, then suddenly a boy stood up.
"My name is Wesley even though you already know, and regarding to your question. We got our powers from Lucifer after the Taboo. The boy said.
"Well, you got it party right. Is there any one who wants to add to what Wesley said. (Yet again no one attempted). Since no one wants to say anything then I will tell you. We got our powers from God. He gave us powers to be able to protect ourselves from monsters and beasts that came from dungeons(It used to be known as portals) which was opened by God himself. Malcolm said.
"Sir, but why?." Wesley said.
"He opened the dungeon as punishment to humans because of a Woman that gave birth to the child if Lucifer. So indirectly Lucifer was behind it.
"What about their son ?. Wesley said.
"About that, it has been 117years since the incident and till date there's no sign of him."
"The Hunter association are still on the look for him but even though he was the son of Lucifer I doubt he could live that long without dying. Whether he is alive or not, we will find him. Malcolm said.
The class was dismissed after the session, that was all for the day. The primary goal of the academy's class E is to make the students aware of past, present and future threats before they delve deeper into the life of being actual hunters.
Ash and Kraine walked the path to the school cafeteria to buy some thing to eat.
"What do you think of today's class? It's was as if they were trying to make us hate Lucifer or something. I don't hold a grudge against Lucifer. Do you?. Kraine said
"Well, I do because he made so many innocent people die. People that were not involved with his love scandal. If not for him, we wouldn't have become walking food stuff for the ever hungry monsters and beasts. Ash replied.
"Dude...." Kraine said.
"What?." Ash replied with a stern voice.
"What's with you and Lucifer. What happened. Did your mother die from a beast attack." Kraine asked.
"No. But I think my dad did. Whenever I ask my mom about my dad she doesn't reply... All I know about him is his name, Lancer. It's a guess though..." Ash replied.
"Regardless, that explains the reason behind your cold attitude towards him. I'm sorry for your loss."
"Thank you."
After they ordered for some snacks they sat to munch them on a bench that has a table (Beble, my creation though). The students in the cafeteria all looked at the direction of Ash, murmuring. They were scared of him. They only heard of people like Ash who have the ability to resist other peoples ability on rare cases. They thought he was an anti-ability user.
"Hey, I heard what you did. You are practically the trending topic all around the school. But as an advice to you, lay low from now on. Seniors are on the look out for you." A boy said to Ash.
"Uhmm I think we have the right to defend ourselves from psychos like that Jaden guy and who the hell are you to interrupt our meal." Kraine replied agitated.
"Oh, am sorry my is Connor, I am a student of class B and a rank C level 21 ability user. I just wanted to warn you guys, because the Hunter academy has a lot of battle freaks that will do anything just to get on your nerves making you fight. I'm sorry for interrupting, bye." The boy who approached Ash said.
