Chapter 32: Ch 28 - Refinement
Fang Yuan and Mo Bei were currently at a open place in the Mo Family manor.
They both were about to start the refinement of Rank 2 Lunar Stream Gu. It was the first refinement for both Mo Bei and Fang Yuan in this timeline.
Mo Bei currently had his only Moonlight Gu in his hands. He also had prepared the Little Light Gu, Water Stream Gu and other necessary ingredients by the side. Since it was a moon path Gu worm, it had a requirement to be refined under the reflection of the moon.
As moon light reflected on both Mo Bei and Fang Yuan, they started to begin the refinement.
Mo Bei entered primeval essense into the moonlight Gu and it began to glow brightly as if he was about to use it to attack. Mo Bei activated the Little light gu using primeval essense and it began to slowly roam around the Moonlight gu. It looked really beautiful.
At the same time, Fang Yuan put up a bucket of water below the glowing moonlight gu and the little light gu roaming around it, and entered the Water stream gu into the bucket. The water stream gu was activated by his primeval essense giving the water in a greenish-blue color. Then Fang Yuan started to put other ingredients into the bucket.
Water Stream gu quickly started absorbing the ingredients and the water. Mo Bei manipulated Moonlight Gu and Little light gu to enter the bucket and at the same time started throwing primeval essense into it.
Water Stream Gu absorbed the primeval stones very fast and also the glowing Moonlight Gu and the Little Light Gu. Mo Bei was throwing one stone after another until the count reached 350.
Suddenly, the Water Stream gu let out a blinding light. Both Mo Bei and Fang Yuan couldn't keep their eyes open but they knew it was a critical moment. Fang Yuan quickly threw the last ingrediant, Calming Grass. As soon as it entered the bucket, the light began reducing.
Soon after, Mo Bei and Fang Yuan were able to see a Gu worm come out of the bucket. It radiated an aura of Rank 2 gu worm. It was the Rank 2 Lunar Stream Gu!
Seeing this, Mo Bei felt really happy. He knew how difficult refinement was and the chances of his failure were high since it was his 1st time. This also cleared one doubt in his mind.
He was not being tested by Heaven's Will. Unlike Fang Yuan, Heaven's Will did not seem to mind his presence and did not create unnecessary difficulty. But this was still too early to conclude. After all, even Fang Yuan was involved in the refinement process.
'But that begs the question. Heaven's will should be able to read my thoughts and must know that i am aware of it's existence. It should have already eliminated me. It had many chances during our exploration of the Flower Wine Monk's inheritance. There are 2 possible reasons here though, one being me connected to Fang Yuan through the Poison Vow and secondly, it might be possible that Heaven's will wants me to help Fang Yuan advance through this stage so that Fang Yuan will be able to stop Spectral Soul from reviving.', Mo Bei was thinking while placing carefully the Rank 2 Lunar Stream Gu in his hands.
'It seems Heaven's Will who has also come from the 500 years into the future along with Fang Yuan does not know the events that happened in the novel. Logically speaking, all those events were tests given by Heaven's Will to Fang Yuan so that Fang Yuan became strong enough to finally steal Rank 9 Sovereign Immortal Aperture Gu. Heaven's Will must have realized that things are differing a bit due to me and must have already scrutinized me. This really answers some of my suspicions.', Mo Bei had a smile on his face as he thought of this. His reincarnation was really weird, not to mention at the same time when Fang Yuan was reborn after 500 years and would become a top-tier existence in this world if the story in the novel followed as is.
No one, not even Heaven's Will, knew of this otherwise it would have eliminated Fang Yuan right now at all costs. But some people did knew, that was Mo Bei through the novel, the writer of this novel, Gu Zhen Ren and the one who really connected this world to Earth, possibly Ren Zu or some other grand existence who Mo Bei could not currently even think about.
"Your luck is really good. You succeeded in refinement the first time.", Fang Yuan commented by the side. He had some idea about the luck path since he had heard stories of Imperial Palace and Ma Hong Yun in his past life. Fang Yuan felt that staying by the side of Mo Bei could even improve his luck.
'Ah luck. This is also a factor I didn't think about. Come to think of it, my luck is really good. From getting Liquor worm to Flower Wine Monk's inheritance's smooth exploration and to befriend Fang Yuan so easily. I had my doubts when Fang Yuan so easily agreed to use Poison Vow Gu. It is understandable that Fang Yuan knows the method to remove the poison vow and it isn't really a big threat to him but currently he doesn't have the access.', Mo Bei felt enlightened.
"Thanks. However, this was only possible due to the help I received from you. Otherwise, it would have been impossible for me to accomplish alone."
Mo Bei activated the Rank 2 Lunar Stream Gu in his hands to see it's effects. It was the first time he activated a Rank 2 gu. It almost took 30% of his primeval essense, when glowing water droplets started coming out from the gu. They were very flexible and became a water shield as Mo Bei wished. He then wished it to become a spear and they formed a shape of spear.
"Fang Yuan, attack me with your Moonblade."
Fang Yuan launched a moonblade at Mo Bei. Suddenly, the water droplets took form of a sheild and stopped in between Mo Bei and the moonblade.
The moonblade passed through the water shield but started slowing down and then disappeared before reaching Mo Bei. The water shield's size had also reduced by 20%.
"This is really a good shield. It can take a total of 5 peak stage moonblades before being fully consumed. This is even better than Jade Skin Gu at the moment. Let's see the attacking power."
Mo Bei and Fang Yuan went to the practice yard where Mo Bei shot the water spear at the tree. It resulted in a huge hole in the tree. The attacking power was terrifying.
"Well, we finally have a good way to deal with those annoying monkeys. The only problem is that the consumption of primeval essense is a bit high. You could only use it one time with liquor worm while even I would be able to use it twice only."
Fang Yuan nodded by the side. This would really help in eliminating the monkeys in the central pillar. He even suspected there was a Monkey King in the pillar.
They both were looking forward to further exploring the Flower Wine Monk's Inheritance.
